Yes, I completely agree with you Krangara...Sia was brilliant in her emoting...Fabulous work!! She had the right mix of denial, sorrow, tears, deafening cry, which really made that scene worth watching , i almost cried in that scene!!!

AS far as this topic goes, we are talking about Sia's acting in that episode, and not whether Sia possesses a frontal lobe in her brain or not..So please stick to the topic , guys!!!

I think he was more dazed, than calm.

Her initial shock followed by her denials and subsequent screaming when she comprehends Aastha's death was finely executed....my mom and myself sobbed! lolzzzzz

I wonder why people don't admire Upasna as an actress....I think she has done a great job as the sublte, caring daughter/sister, playful lover and a concerned family member!!!

I have grown to love her over the episodes....and today's performance has made me a fan!!!! 😊

great job girl...can't wait to see more of yoU!

I agree with you on her acting yesterday. Sometimes I don't think she is a great actress but yesterday I had tears flowing down my eyes. Tears filling up my eyes is not uncommon but tears flowing down my eyes is a little uncommon - and yesterday that's what happened when I saw her cry. Great acting!

Hmm....Jen...I understand....but, today, SIA's emotional scenes were heart-rendering....it's just as hard to portray emotions after someone's death as it is to play a negative role

As of Yuvika, I preferred her as the positive Aastha.....I wasn't so impressed with her negative role....she used to mostly scream and do little more... 😕 I don't quite understand why people think this lady is perfect...but, hey, to each his own

Anyways, this was my reaction after watching Upasana's performance today.....I see bright days ahead for her....I also loved her when she comforted Aastha on her lap.... 😳

I agree especially on the comforting Aastha episode.. That and yesterday's performance of Sia's was great..

Hmmm...I don't know. My mom and I watched the scene together and she thought Sia's performance was realitic of someone in shock/denial over a loved one's death.

For me..I thought she was mildly irritating because she kept trying to interrupt Abhi when he was talking to the doctor. For a character who was supposedly raised in England, english is clearly not her first language. So this is a discrepancy in the director's part by not being consistant in the character's development.

I hope this does not sound bad...but I do not like her facial expressions when she cries. I think the viewer forgets the emotion of the scene and instead starts to think about why she looks this way when she cries.

I also find it annoying that she has such an unrealistic abundance of love for Astha when she has not even bonded with her on a sisterly level as yet. I think they are trying to mirror Sia and Simran by showing they think/act alike. For me, they both come across as being too emotional and weepy. I am so sick of seeing Sia always crying. I thought she was originally this strong, independant type girl from england? What happened?

i agree with dianne, me and my brother looked at each other den strated brusting out laughing, we fought sia was overacting, and wat was with the coughing, we fought that sia might die as well, i really think she need to control her emotions, as for she don't even know astha as well as she knew her other mother from london, sia didn't even cry that much for her mother who rasied her up for 18 years and crying for a sister she don't even know.
and astha, i will miss her loads because her acting was wicked.

I see your point. A couple of others I know thought she overacted as well. I personally thought she did not overact too (maybe a wee bit) and yes, her interruptions were annoying but when one is in a hysterical condition, manners is not topmost in their mind. Sia's English can certainly improve as was discussed in another thread and Simran's English is far better..They both get highly emotional, though Simran after all that she has gone through in life - I am not surprised that she cries as much as she does.. Also, I do not think tears necessarily indicate weakness (not all the time, anyway). I don't think Sia's bonding with Aastha or closenss so to speak is at a very deep level but I think her grief, sorrow, etc. is more because she *knows* that Aastha is her sister and maybe, just maybe she empahizes with Simran's and Abhi's loss (her dad and mom's) and that became cause for her own grief. I know that's how it would be for me..Even if I were not overly close say to a sibling, but did share a failry good relationship with them, I would feel miserable if such a thing happens more because I love my parents a lot, am extremely close to them and would empathize with their loss (besides feeling sorry for the loss of a loved one, of course). Don't know if I am making sense. All this is just the way I look at it.

Her not crying as much for her mom was rather strange I felt too. However at that moment, all kinds of news was thrown at her, being told that Anand was her dad (when she tried to go and commit suicide) and soon after that being told that Simran was her mom. But yes, the director could have shown more grief at least later - her thinking of her mom or something.

I agree with the last part of your post krangara. It was a very nice performance by Sia when she comforted Astha. Actually, I just think she goes over the top at times. Other than that, she has definitely improved!
