Hi Vazz... let me stick to this name. The reason I popped from my seat seeing your name is bcoz u wished me luck for the John Abraham case...LOL just kidding. Its gr8 to know that you are a software professional too. Here are my questions:
1. Were you born and brought up in US or you were in India and then settled there? I was brought up in B'lore. Marriage brought me to the states.
2. What are your qualifications? You may wish to ignore this ques if its too personal. I am a software professional too (now taken up Technical Writing and working with a software company) and so wanted to know what are the degree levels in US for Comp Sc.
I do not find it very personal... I wanted to be C.A, and took up Business Studies in 11th and 12th and was hoping for the foundation course of CA to get commenced that year, but it did not and I ended up doing B.Com. And did my 2 year program from NIIT, B'lore. When I took up the job in in the IT field 7 yrs ago here, in the US, the field was booming and they did not care if I had MS or not. Even to this day, I think experience is given more importance here than the MS. That is my personal opinion.
3. Do you also sit up late in the office when the deadlines approach?
I have been there, done that. I am not in the programming field anymore. I am into the functional aspects of the product and therefore do more of co-ordination work and of course we all now have the ability to work from home. I do not have to sit up late anymore, but odd hours of work are expected, as co-ordination would mean getting in touch with people from India too...
4. Which movies do you prefer: Desi or Videshi 😊 and which are your fav ones?
I watch both Desi and Videshi... mostly desi.. though. I see myself as a die-hard romantic and therefore would find me watching movies like You've got mail, Sleepless in Seattle, While you were sleeping.... Of course I like movies like Good will Hunting too. I need an element of romance in a movie to be able to watch it. Among the Hindi Movies, I have loved Silsila, Abhimaan, Lakshya(!!!), Dil chahta Hai, Hera Pheri. I cannot remember which of the latest ones, I can place in my list of favs.
Now the most imp ques:
5. Will I get a job in your company?...LOL...this was supposed to be a bad joke. Just kiddin...I'm happy to be in India.
I am planning on moving back to India. I know I would be happy there too.
I will bounce back once I have more for you. Hope you enjoy the spotlight till its on you and beyond
I hope so too.
