Vazz, Congrats on becoming the Member of the Week...

Let me post some questions too.....

Wow!!! Pride and Prejudice is also one of my favourite books, just like you and Sara. So, in the story, among the sisters, who is your favourite and why?

Hmm, you said you are interested in Carnatic Classical Music. Actually, i am always forced to hear them, as my hubby is a Big Big Carnatic Music craze. 😆So day in and day out, music is played when he is at home. So, being a passive listener, i too have developed some interest for some singers whom i like...So who is your favourite carnatic singer? TEll me in detail about your music interest....

Having said, you are music fan, do you sing? If so, then which is the song that you like singing the most?

Wow, you are from Bangalore. Hmm, i must say you and I have lots of same liking and similarities. 😃 So do you know Kannada? If so, can you answer to this.....

Neevu hegideera? Nimma makkala hesaru yenu? 😆Do answer in Kannada yaar.....😉

What does your hubby do? Is he also an IT person?

You said you are planning to come back to India. If so, when do you plan to relocate, which will be your place of stay?

Wow, i am also a big big fan of Amitabh and SRK....So which is your favourite Amitabh film and SRK film.... If so, why?

Will shoot later with more questions....😃

Congratulations for being member of the week!

So ur an only child too eh?So am i!!Can't say about the bratty part though! 😉

So here are my questions:

How did it feel to grow up as an only child?

Growing up, I did not feel that I needed siblings. I was satisfied being an only child. I had a lot of friends and my parents I shared a pretty good rapport.

Did u wish u had siblings at any point of time?

After marriage, I felt it would have been nice to have sibling, but then it was my parents' decision to have one child.. cannot do much about it now...
If so,wud u have preferred a brother or sister?

A sister.

Would u prefer ur kids to grow up in the States or in India?

Not really sure..Either place is fine and it is the parenting that matters finally.

What do u really think of Dr.Simran's character in Astitva?
In the beginning, I liked the character.... but after the Neha thing and the leap, I cannot relate to the character.
DO u like travelling?

I do.
How many countries have u visited so far?

Not many. I have had visa issues and could not leave US. Once those got sorted out, the babies came along.. I am hoping to visit Europe and Australia. Those are the places, I want to go first.
Which is your favourite among all?

Since I have visited India and US, I still vote for India, despite its drawbacks. I was in Holland when I was 4 yrs old.. and have not much rememberance about the place...

Okey-Dokey,only have this much for now!
Will be back soon!
Have fun!
Hope so

Thank You
So, one of your favorites is Pride and Prejudice.. it's my favorite story and movie.. Have you seen the movie which was released in 95? Starring Colin Firth & Jennifer Ehle? it was really good..
Are you kidding, I have it at home and watch it so very often. It is a part of my stress relief deal.

You said you do buy books even if you don't have the time to read them.. So, how many books do you have?
Not sure.. have lost count... have about 3 -4 book cases filled now. They are books on nature, wildlife, cooking, gardening, crafting, home decorating and fiction too.

What are your son & daughter's names?

Pranav and Pooja

What is the one incident in your life that you wish it didn't happen?
I did have a misunderstanding with a close friend of mine and though the misunderstanding is gone, I feel that the barrier is now for ever going to be there.
Will think of more and will be back later.. 😊

Thank you for giving me the opportunity

Let me post some questions too.....

With no second thoughts, it has to be Elizabeth. I find her very independent for a woman in those days and she is not particularly worried about looks and tries to educate herself. She does form opinions rather quickly, but I take that flaw as a natural character of many people and like it that the lead role is not Ms. Perfect.

Hmm, you said you are interested in Carnatic Classical Music. Actually, i am always forced to hear them, as my hubby is a Big Big Carnatic Music craze. 😆So day in and day out, music is played when he is at home. So, being a passive listener, i too have developed some interest for some singers whom i like...

So who is your favourite carnatic singer?

Dr. M.Balamurali Krishna comes first in the list of vocalists, then comes MS. I have started to like Sudha Raghunathan. I love to hear Kunnakudi and L Subramanian on the violin. I have not a favourite in Veena or Flute. Being here in the US, I am not able to get CDs of the new comers and hence have not really heard them.

TEll me in detail about your music interest....

I was forced to learn Carnatic Music as a child. We started off with vocal and the teacher could not bear it anymore..😆..this was in 2nd grade so she asked me to switch to an instrument. I started to learn the violin only when I was in the 8th grade after I started to like the style of music. My dad is a very devoted carnatic music fan. He can identify raagas, even though he has had no formal training in music. I learnt the violin for 10 years and it has been 15 years since I have touched the instrument too..😳.. but I am not that motivated to play.. I love listening.

Having said, you are music fan, do you sing? If so, then which is the song that you like singing the most?

I do not sing much... the donkeys and me sound the same...😆 😆. Songs in raaga Naata, Mohana, Kalyani, Thodi sound good to me . Of course there are numerous other songs in different raagas that sound good to me....

I loved the music CD of Morning Raaga. The mixture of western instruments, beats and Indian classical really blended well and the rendition of Thaaye Yashoda by Sudha Raghunathan is fabulous. In fact my son is also into listening to classical music. He listens to Sarod a lot.

Wow, you are from Bangalore. Hmm, i must say you and I have lots of same liking and similarities. 😃 So do you know Kannada? If so, can you answer to this.....

Neevu hegideera? Nimma makkala hesaru yenu? 😆

Naany Channegiddene. Kellidekke Santosha. Nanna magana hesaru Pranav. Nanna hudigeya hesaru Pooja.

Though I grew up in B'lore, I did not have much opportunity to talk in Kannada, as I went to a Kendriya Vidyalaya school and Hindi was my first language in school for 10 years. We lived in central govt quarters and no many kannadigas around.. so my kannada is not that fluent, but I can understand the language and read it to an extent.

Do answer in Kannada yaar.....😉

What does your hubby do? Is he also an IT person?

Yup. He is also in IT. He is the one who slogs 12 hrs a day at work and then is also doing his masters in CS.

You said you are planning to come back to India. If so, when do you plan to relocate, which will be your place of stay?

Not sure about the place. I am biased towards B'lore, because I consider that my home town, though I have no family there.

Wow, i am also a big big fan of Amitabh and SRK....So which is your favourite Amitabh film and SRK film.... If so, why?

My favourite Amitabh move is Silsila... I think he has potrayed his emotions, confusions very well. I loved Amitabh in a romantic role more than an action hero. I loved him in Kabhie Kabhie too.

I liked Kabhi Haan -Kabhi Naan, Raju Ban Gaya Gentelman, DDLJ. I find SRK has a good way of depicting his romantic feelings. He does get monotonous, but I still watch him. I like Abhishek Bacchan these days too... I am crazy.. aren't I?

Will shoot later with more questions....😃

I am sure you will.... 😃

Hi Vazz!!

Congrats!! This time you can't percieve my questions or thoughts because I have the pleasure of asking you first!

1) Having lived in both cultures, what are the barriers a woman faces in the western world vs India

2) In Astitva, do you relate to any of the characters? Which one?

3) Which character do you find you absolutely can not stand or relate to

4) Top 10 tips to finding a good life partner (because I know you're happy with yours!)

5) Why didn't I know you're in Atlanta? I was there for work last month! (when the gas prices made CNN for being the highest in the country).

6) What is your favourite part of IF

7) Do you consider yourself an easy to get to know person (simple) or a multi-faceted person (complex) - and why.

I guess NOT...😆

1) Having lived in both cultures, what are the barriers a woman faces in the western world vs India
I have not seen any barriers that a woman faces here in terms of profession. I came here married, so do not have much exposure into the social part. I find that in my family I still see the same conservativeness in terms of profession that they want my cousins to take up.

Here I find that children are more independent and they make their own decisions. Ofcourse, it is going to be hard on the parents if the kids do not turn out right, but it also depends on the early years of parenting that has the right attitude in the children.

2) In Astitva, do you relate to any of the characters? Which one?

I cannot relate to any character in Astitva. I could understand Simran's behaviour earlier on, but now I do not. I loved Manas' character and was hoping somebody would tell him that his behaviour towards Urmila was not good... but that did not happen and instead Urmila's role became so different.

3) Which character do you find you absolutely can not stand or relate to

I cannot relate to Kiran. I simply cannot.

4) Top 10 tips to finding a good life partner (because I know you're happy with yours!)

You got me here... mine was an arranged marriage and its great that things have worked out wonderfully well... I am not sure I can help you there.

5) Why didn't I know you're in Atlanta? I was there for work last month! (when the gas prices made CNN for being the highest in the country).

Next time you come, send me a PM and and we meet up.

6) What is your favourite part of IF

Discussions. I do not care much for the serial anymore.

7) Do you consider yourself an easy to get to know person (simple) or a multi-faceted person (complex) - and why

Should I really be answering this?? or my friends... I think I am an easy to get to know person. I am a straight forward person, but if I think my straight forwardness is going to hurt somebody, then I just shut up, which could be wrong, but that is just me.

I am not sure how to answer your why part yet... may be when we meet, we can see why. 😉
