He kept on tapping his fingers on the desk, ignoring the doctor's words. He wasn't affected by the concerned look that was being directed towards him, neither was he interested in any of the doctor's suggestions. The only thing that mattered right now was the fitness certificate which will act as an approval letter for him to join his duty back.
The doctor sighed at his unresponsiveness, but couldn't do anything as she was dealing with a certain, short-tempered, strict, strong and incredibly intelligent, ACP Arjun Raute. Arjun, a rebellious cop, with a no-nonsense attitude but a vulnerable and broken husband, who had failed his wife against death, his wife, his Roshini.
"Arjun, are you even listening to me?" Dr. Shonali Bose slapped her hands on the desk lightly as she glared at Arjun.
Arjun's expressions remained stoic as he replied, "I am not a 5-year-old, doctor. I know how to take care of myself. So can you please give me the fitness certificate so I can leave and re-join my duty? My time is too precious to waste on these silly things."
Shonali controlled her urge to yell at him, "My time isn't any less precious Arjun!" she leaned back on her chair, "If you want the fitness certificate then you have to do as I say, else you are aware of what I can do." she threatened him with the fitness certificate as without her approval Arjun won't be able to start working again.
Arjun glared at her and she glared at him back. "Fine! I will do as you say."
Shonali smiled widely and gave him his file, "I have attached a diet chart, a list of the medicines that you have to take and the details of your future check-ups and appointments." she then signed the fitness certificate and passed it to him, "Aurr yeh raha tumhara fitness certificate."
Arjun gave her a nod in acknowledgment and left the cabin. It's been 3 months, 3 long months that he had been lying here healing from his physical injuries but the wound of his heart would never be healed. Not until he gets justice for his Roshini.
With revenge on his mind, Arjun made his way out of the premises oblivious to a pair of extremely concerned, coal black eyes.
Shonali pinched the bridge of her nose and leaned back on the chair closing her eyes. Dealing with Arjun had always been tiring for her. She cursed the moment when she had befriended Arjun and Sameer.
They were in 11th standard when they became friends and it's been 12 years since then. Things have changed, some for better and many for the worse. She wondered as to when everything will be alright again.
Sighing she decided to divert her mind off this mess and relax for a bit but was disturbed when her cell phone started ringing. Cursing she picked up her cell phone to see who was calling, "Sam", Shonali groaned and answered the call.
"Sho, have you.." before he could complete the sentence, Shonali interrupted him and said, "He's completely fine Sameer!"
DCP Sameer Singh Rathore exhaled deeply and asked, "Toh tumne usse certificate de diya?"
"Haan!" Shonali said, ", I have given him the permit to join the force. Naa dene ki koi wajah nahi thhi Sam. He's fine bas dyaan rakhna ki woh zyada physical stress na le."
"And what about his mental health? After Roshini's death.." he couldn't complete the sentence as even the thought of how bad his best friend's life has turned pained him greatly.
"I am not worried about his mental condition as of now. Abhi uske paas ek maksad hai jeene ke. Mujhe uss waqt ki chinta hai jab yeh maksad pura ho jayega." Shonali voiced out her worry. She was about to talk about it with Sameer but stopped when she heard a knock at the door.
"Sam, I'll talk with you later, abhi, I have some work. Bye!" and she ended the call.
"Come In.." Shonali smiled at the woman standing at the door.
The woman was dressed in khaki pants with a white shirt tucked properly and nicely, her hair tied in a ponytail and a small smile on her face. She came inside and placed her bag on the other chair.
Shonali handed her a file, "Yeh lo. Ismein sab details hai, everything that you asked me for and everything that you need to know."
The woman took the file and put it in her bag, "You were saying something about his mental condition." the woman pointed.
Shonali nodded in positive and rubbed her forehead, "He needs something other than his revenge to focus on. Kuch bhi kar k usse distract karna hoga, ek nayi wajah deni hogi jeene ki, because the moment his revenge will be complete, I am afraid that he won't have anything to live for. He doesn't need sympathy or pity right now, just do something to channel his anger, his madness into some different direction."
"I understand." the woman smiled "Arjun is going to face the worst of me now. Though at the end it is for his betterment only but I am going to enjoy every bit of it. Serves him right, doesn't it?" she frowned to which Shonali laughed.
