CHAPTER 49

The auction started, a man dressed in a black suit, he wore a small mask on his face came in with the painting and spoke:

Ladies and gentleman, thanks for coming here on such a short notice, as you all know from the news ETF is on the case so that's why the auction should happen tonight otherwise we will have to bring this painting overseas to sell it and right now it's risky so hopefully we will be able to sell it tonight, so let's begin

Before the selling started ETF and other police officers barged in

S: arrest every one of them and if they resist make sure to tell them that we will make sure that they will get more in trouble. Well Mr Mahesh your game is up

The man in the mask panicked: what? How did you know?

A: you really are an actor, Mr Mahesh, trying to look so innocent while you poisoned the gaurds and ate a little bit of the food so no one would get suspicious but now you are under arrest for stealing, poisoning and trying to sell painting illegally

Mah: very well done, mr I don't know you but you still didn't catch me yet

He started running, but couldn't get far because Chotu caught him by his collar so he couldn't run anymore just his legs were swinging in the air

Mah: let me go, don't you know they are cops? We have to run (he thought Chotu was one of the bodyguards)

Ch: acha toh main kaun hoon? (Then who am I)

Mah: aren't you one of my bodyguards? Because of your height and weight you look like one

Sh: mr, height aur weight pe matt jao (don't go by his looks), when he punches then you will find out what he is like

Ruk: but he is really a warm hearted guy (she said it to Liza but Chotu heard it anyway)

Chotu was so happy with her compliment that he let Mahesh go, who fell on the floor with a thud

Mah: hey (while lying on the floor)

A: arrest him (tells to the other police officer)

The other policer officer took him into custody. While taking him the owner of the museum Akhil Malhotra came because he got a message that the painting and the thief has been found

Akh: Mahesh? Why are you here? Shouldn't you be in the hospital? (Shocked)

S: Mr Akhil, he is the thief

Akh: what? But why would (to Mahesh) you do this? I thought that you were my friend

Mah: because I was tired of taking care of paintings that could be worth more then a lifetime pay, I wanted to get rich by hook or by crook

A: he was planning to run away after selling but it wasn't the first time he stole and sold a painting, he did it many times but this time he got caught

Akh: but he got poisoned too along with the gaurds, and when I got the call from the thief he was with me

S: he used his bodyguard to that, he is over there (he pointed to the guy who was in handcuffs) and about the food, we tested it and it was quite poisonous but when we checked doctors report, we found out that the guards had eaten more then Mahesh, he only ate two piece and drank lots of water but the tea was not poisoned. Before he ate he went to the CCTV room to stop the camera's from filming at that point so he could make sure that no one would know that the CCTV weren't working so when everyone takes them to the hospital his goons can come and steal without any restriction

Akh: but why did he call and told me about the theft?

Sid: so he could steal with more ease, because the painting was hung with security around it but you were scared that it would get stolen so you put it were no one would think of going

Akh: but how did he get my private number?

Man: you and Mahesh went to the airport to send your wife off right? (Akhil nodded) he took her phone and send all the details of her phone to his phone, while you two were saying goodbye, he took her phone which was on the table and did the whole thing, the CCTV footage of the airport shows that, he didn't think of that

Akh: such a big betrayal but how did you all find that out?

V: he seemed quite relaxed for someone who almost didn't survive and while stealing the painting the goons accidently spilled some red paint on them and didn't bother to change their clothes so they are still wearing it, and the oil we found was made from olive oil and same oil was in the food, when he mixed the poison in the food he got it on his hands

Akh: thank you so much, sir you saved our reputation in such a short notice

S: it's our duty, you will get the painting after the whole case closes

Akh: yes sir, thanks again sir (He left from there)

Sid: finally the case is over

S: thank you Miss Rukshar for helping us in this mission

Ruk: it's my pleasure sir, I called my sister-in law and asked her permission and she said yes, she was excited that I was part of a mission, I called her to pick me up from here because my brother doesn't know yet, he is quite overprotective of us

Ch: you are going so soon?

Man: Chotu bhaiya, time to dekhlo (look at the time) it's almost 1:30 am, I know for you time is precious but Rukshar should also go home

Chotu blushed; Rukshar looked down smiling while SAmjun looked confused

Ruk: bhabhi just texted me, she is waiting at the road, I have to go

S: wait, let someone take, Virat you take her

Vir: sure

Manvi held his arm back and said: stop being a haddi (bone), Chotu bhaiya you take her, he is more helpful unlike someone else (looked at Virat)

Vir: look Miss Bandariya, stop making me look like that I am not good person

R: you mean today

Ruk: right (laughing)

Chotu left with Rukshar

Ruk: I hope everything is ok between Virat and MAnvi, I think that something is wrong between them; I hope that I am not being nosy

Ch: ofcourse not, MAnvi still doesn't want to talk about it and Virat we just met a few days ago so not much from his side

They both got silent and kept on walking; they didn't know what to say

Suddenly a small cat jumped put of a garbage can, they got scared and accidently hugged each other, the cat went away and they suddenly realized that they were hugging each other, they let go of each other embarrassed at their behavior

Ch+ruk: sorry (shy)

At that moment Zoya came in her car and started honking

Ruk: bhabhi aageyi, I will meet you later

Ch: ok, see you later

Rukshar went and sat in the car, Zoya waved hello and bye to Chotu at the same time. They rode off leaving Chotu alone with his sadness

In the car

Zo: so, how was your date?

Ruk: bhabhi, it was not a date, it was a case

Zo: same difference, did you get the bad guys?

Ruk: not me bhabi, the ETF members, you should have seen them, better then films and Chotu was like he picked the goon up as if he was lifting a small stone wow like omg

Chotu was still standing there when the other members came minus SAmjun who were busy with other policemen and Riya was writing notes and Ayesha was helping her with it

Sh: about his doctor shahiba offcourse, loverboy hogaya hain, you know Love is you (looking at Liza)

Sid: Shree, looks like you know more then Chotu, experience?

Sh: me? No

Man: believe it or not, dada dated only one time and it only lasted one week because of someone, kyun Liza di?

L: well, I had to spoil it because she was a witch and he was a fool

Sh: she was pretty you know

L: that's why you are a fool who doesn't know right from wrong

Man: don't you dare talk about my dada like that

Liza and Shree didn't even continue their talk because of you two jumping in, see how Sakshi and Sid are not even talking but you two aren't even stopping, thank god Sameer sir aur Arjun sir yahan nahi hain (they are not here) otherwise we would get glaring and samjhe and samjhuan from them. Because of you Ruksharji was in tension (small sigh)

Vir: so you are not in tension for us but for your Ruksharji (he stressed on the ji) love loca

Chotu blushed little

Sid: stop teasing him, he was just making a point, he doesn't want his would be girlfriend to be stressed out, it's understandable

Sakshi looked carefully around her while they were talking and saw the cat that scared Chotu and Rukshar sitting between the trash cans, a devilish plan entered her mind; she saw ARiya and Samesha coming,
Riya was talking to Ayesha about her notes and Samjun were silent just like always

Sakshi made the trashcan fall so the cat jumped infront of Samesha and Ariya, while the girls jumped a little from the noise, Samjun came before Riya and Ayesha respectively holding their gun towards the cat thinking it was a person

R: sir, it's just a cat

Ay: not just a cat, it's a baby kitten aww so cute. It's scared

Riya picked the kitten up and started petting it

Samjun put their guns away and shook their heads at the girls behavior

S: you do know that it's just a cat, right?

A: Miss Mukherjee, I thought that you were a very hygienic person and dislikes dust and anything that has to do with it, are you ok with all of the germs?

R: sir, it's just a baby and by the way it's a girl and we can't just leave her here, she has no one. See how she likes me and Ayesha

Arjun just looked at Riya's behavior and thought how different she is outside of work

Sameer was getting irritated and said: are you two going to spend your whole night with the cat? Look at the time; don't you want to go home?

Arjun interrupted: Rathor, it's not up to you to decide for them, now is it? Just because you don't like cats doesn't mean that everyone is like you (the girls got shocked by Arjun's reply because usually Arjun is the one who likes to taunt not Sameer)

Sameer just rolled his eyes and said: whatever, I am going to get the SUV, the cat is not coming with me, understand?

Arjun just shook his head thinking that Sameer was never ever going to be succesfull in getting Ayesha's approval

A: I am going to get the SUV; I don't mind the cat ok?

SAmjun left to get their SUV

While talking the girls reached where the others were waiting for them

Sa: hurry up, we don't have all night, we still need to meet in the morning

Ayesha in her mind: SAdu kahi ka, never ever I am going to say he is a nice person

Riya went to sit in Sameer's car followed by Sakshi, Choree and Manvi while Ayesha+ Pie went and sat in Arjun's car followed by Virat, Siddarth and Liza, they all left for ETF office

In his mind Arjun was cursing Sameer for being so clueless about everything

They all reached the office, everyone got out except Siddarth and Virat went to Sameer's car

Ay: thanks sir for allowing Pie in your car

Arjun just nodded and said: Rathor said to tell you that you all can come in the afternoon

Ay+L: ok sir, good night sir

Arjun just nodded

Sid: see you guys later and tell the others too

Ay: ok

Sid: chale Arjun?

Arjun who wanted to see Riya before they went, almost glared at Sid when he saw Riya coming with the others, he looked at her and at the same time Riya looked at him, she almost saw a smile on his face but he turned away and drove off so she thought that it was her imagination

R: Arjun sir and Siddarth left?

Ay: they just left and Sameer sir and Virat?

R: they left too, we should go too, and we have to be in office in the afternoon

L: Arjun sir already told us, looks like Arjun sir's vocabulary is getting bigger, astonishing isn't it?

Sh: I agree, he doesn't glares that much and he even told Chotu he doesn't have punishment from his side

Ch: I thank him very much for that

Ay: abh chale? It's getting late

Sh: but how? Our bike can hold only three people

Ay: Shree, I will drop Choti, ok?

Ch: oh

They left for home

Sameer and Virat arrived at their home, they got out and went inside, and Sameer went straight to his room and closed the door with a bang, leaving Virat alone

V: wah, itna gussa, but why? Thank god, I didn't speak to him the whole ride otherwise he would have left me alone on the street.

He sighed and went to his own room; he freshened up and went to the kitchen. He saw Sameer eating noodles, so he tried not to disturb him and went to make a sandwich

S: you can eat some noodles; they are in the kitchen cabinet

V (startled): ji... oh ok thanks

Virat made some noodles, sat across SAmeer; they are in silence, after eating Sameer washed his dirty dishes and went to his room

V: he left again, leaving me alone, he is really a Sadu

He quickly ate and washed his dishes and he went to his room

Sameer's thougth's: what is happening to me? I have to get my act together, just because I respect Ayesha doesn't mean I like her, definitely not, just because her smile is cute doesn't mean that, just because I get angry when I see her with Virat doesn't mean that

He fell asleep while thinking about that

Virat's thoughts: Shree and Liza are definitely dating, I can feel that. Looks like the ACP Arjun has something for Riya, kuch toh garbar hai, but leave that I will conform it tommorrow, when will Manvi stop blaming me? After that incident we drifted further apart, we were frenemies but now we aren't even that. I hope we don't fight infront of the Acp's

He also fell asleep

Scene shifts to Arjun and Sid

They reached their home, freshened and were eating sandwiches, after eating, they cleaned up and went to their own rooms

Arjun's thoughts: so miss Riya, looks like you like me too, otherwise you would already pushed or punched me when I was close to you. I hope you have lots of strength because now I am certain that I totally like you so don't get shocked when I start to change to the prev Arjun and this time I am not going let my past come between my happiness but before that I need to mend my relationship with Sam otherwise his love story will never begin and it will end soon

He fell asleep

Sid's thoughts: today I saw a new side of SAkshi, she missed her family. All the other days she was joyful and sweet but she is also sensitive, she makes me speechless everytime I see her new side (he opened his wallet and looked at the pic of Sakhsi that Comissioner sir gave him to when he met him) love or like I am still in dilemma

He fell asleep while looking at the pic

Scene shifts

Ayesha dropped Manvi at Choreeiya's house and they left for their house and Choreeiya came home by bike

Without much talking they went inside and went to freshen up, they quickly ate sandwiches because they didn't wanted to cook because they were tired, they put away the groceries that Chotu bought with Rukshar and went to sleep

Chotu fell asleep as soon as he hit the pillow, dreaming about Rukshar; while Shree send a text to Liza then he fell asleep

While Riya went to the washroom, Manvi lied down and closed her eyes and thought: when will Virat and I stop fighting? I don't know when we will get over that incident, we used to fight a lot before it, but after that incident it got worse. Just hope that we don't fight infront of the Acp's

She slowly closed her eyes and fell asleep

Scene shifts to Ayizakshi

They arrived at home with their new family member; they got out and went inside

Ayesha quickly took out an old basket; Liza brought old blankets to put it in while Sakshi was holding the cat. They first bathed the cat with warm water, dried her with an old towel and gave her milk in a small container. After she ate, they put her in the basket, she fell asleep

Ay: aww, so cute, she didn't even scratch or bite us when we washed her and she drank all of the milk

L: she likes us already, but I think we should take a bath too, we stink

Sa: I agree

L: hey

Ay: you said it first (they laughed)

After they freshened up, they ate sandwiches and cleaned up. Ayiza went to their room and Sakshi was alone in the living room with Pie

Liza saw that Shree sent her a text so she texted him back and fell asleep while Ayesha was tossing and turning

Ay: don't know what Sadu sir thinks only about himself, sometimes he seems nice but the other times he really makes me angry with his behavior, he even ignored Pie, how rude. I think Arjun sir and Sameer sir exchanged their egos. Sameer sir sometimes gets close but then he makes a big step back as if regretting. He makes me confused

After lots of complaining she fell asleep

Scene shifts to Riya

Riya was standing on the terrace and as soon as she saw her Angel, she started tell her story, she talked about the case and at the end of it she said: it seems like Rathor sir is being weird, he usually isn't so angry young man but lately he changed, I hope that its just phase, but I don't know what has happened to Arjun sir, earlier he used to scold me for everything but now he teases me and makes fun when I am flustered, I thought he would scold me for drinking his chai but he teased me about it and said it was sweeter, and when he looks at me now it seems his eyes seem softer to me and now he gives us shock after shock with his behavior. God and Angel help me and give me strength to bear with this new Arjun sir. Don't know if I should be happy or not. Does he like me or is it the weather that caused him to change, but the biggest question is do I like him or is it the respect I have for him that I didn't push or punched him when he came close but he didn't cross his line, oh god I am confused. I am going to sleep otherwise we will be late for work. Goodnight, love you. See you tomorrow

She went inside and fell asleep

Sa: goodnight Di, uff. Everyone is in confusion, I am getting in confusion. Rathor sir and Ayesha are getting nowhere with their love story, Virat and MAnvi isn't even starting, Shree and Liza have already began theirs, Chotu and Rukshar are finally starting. Arjun sir has realized his feelings but di not yet. Don't know why I can't find out who Siddarth loves. Uff, kya karoon? (She looked at the cat)

So miss Pie, my helper. You will be helping a lot you know, but for now get some sleep, tomorrow will be a big day, I think. I really should ask M how to read the future but he isn't getting my voice messages, don't know why and mentorji isn't even helping. I should get some sleep looks like tomorrow will be full of dhamaka

The next day (afternoon)

The masti gang was sitting in the conference room writing their reports in between yawning and eating brunch, Sameer was sitting with them so they couldn't talk much

Arjun was in his cabin, looking for an old file when Virat knocked on the door

A: come in

Virat went in

A: what's wrong mr Vadhera?

V: nothing, I just wanted to conform something

A: what? (Uninterested)

V: do you like someone in ETF?

A: what do you mean Mr Vadhera? (Taken a back)

V: I mean I know you like Riya

Arjun looked at him stunned

V: and you are serious about her, that I know, and I can help you too because I am on your side

A: really? And why is that?

V: because the way you look at her and care about her and her friends, and your seriousness has decreased a little and if I wasn't sure about you, I wouldn't help you sir, I care about my friends a lot even if I met Riya a few days back, she is like a little sister to me

Arjun listened at his explanation, he knew he was right, he sighed and said: ok, I like Riya. I don't have much dating experience but that doesn't mean I don't know what my feelings are

V: I understand so I want to help you because I know your feelings are real but if you hurt her sir, you will know what unity is

A: ok Mr Vadhera (he gave out his hand)
