Ooh so much notes to takeI enjoy reading riyas psyche simply cause this is so different than what I have perceived the character to be and the fics/interpretation of her. There is so much maturity in her, and this is sounding like a broken record but I am struck by how different your way of presenting her character is. This is no fangirl of Arjun who blindly worship her idol and will follow him to the end of earth. She's smart, clever, observes quietly and same time not the overbearing silly fool who's stuck in romanticism when it comes to Arjun sir. It was an interesting read that how your Riya analyzed the gun shot and bacteria swallowing incidents and really, the girl who's obsessed with percentage would actually think about bland dry logic and cost benefit to a greater good and her own small life in front of it. Not the grand plan to save the world, the grandness is left for Arjun who's an intense, larger than Life character on its own.I cannot tell you how much I agree with your analysis of Arjun. Burdened with being a hero, even the smallest of mannerisms have history and purpose attached to them, making everything he does SO heavy. It's a beautiful character to visualize and write about. I'm actually excited to delve into him.Probably this normalcy is the reason why we viewers always loved Riya more than Arjun (for me at least) and was heartbroken when we lost the chance to see her and their story further. Ok, diverting from.topic (I do that a lot😆) (I love it! Don't apologise) so she saw the different side of Arjun sir during those incidents and at the same time Arjun is so into character- standing in the corner and observing the happiness, just a nod and look and nothing else passes between them. I am curious what she said during bacteria case in her "last" moments? In the scene where Riya is about to die on the hospital bed, she asks him to come close to her and says "I said I understood, but that was false. I don't understand. Nobody can understand" - signifying his grief is his own to bear and stew in. That moment is possibly my favourite scene in the show, the shittiness and obviousness of her death notwithstanding (I refuse to count her death in canon! The entire scene was the worst, my God)The dialogue for me, is possibly the most important moment between them - it is an acknowledgment of his pain that is not attached with loaded sympathy or pity - but it is also so much more than that. She is dying, and in a moment of clarity, she acknowledges the pain in his heart. The dialogue is loaded with meaning - she tells him that just like he knew what she was about to do, she recognizes what he plans to do as well and she does not judge him for it. A bond is formed, and such bonds never go away, despite both parties wishing that they do.And she only has her father in life, what about mom? Are you going to include that small scene when she got a call from her relatives in Kolkata and took leave for a few days? Arjuns pov on this would be interesting, just saying 😛
I see your hint, haha! Wait and see!Arjun wakes up and really, I did expect him.to say roshni even before I saw your reply in last page but I am surprised too cause didn't he think about Riya just before he fell into unconscious state? Ah well, what would we know about how human mind works, maybe like Riya he also thought he's going to die and would see roshni. Riya is relieved (and probably disappointed? Exhausted? Feeling sorry on his behalf to come back to a relaity where roshni is no more?)
Two things-- Arjun understanding Riya when she says there was no grander plan behind sacrificing her life during bacteria case. Does this speaks about how well he knows her or how he sees roshni and sik a grand scheme of things for which he needs to someday sacrifice himself too and he would do it gladly. How does he even see sikandar? Just as a person who killed his wife or someone who has wronged so many people, now came to his house and hurt him, and now he needs to pay more cause he became personal.Answers in the upcoming chapters! I'm so glad you mention this because Roshni and Sikander are such an integral catalysts in forming Arjun and I felt this aspect was completely under-analysed and under characterized. All we get is revenge, and some grief and anger - but loss is not so black and white. This story will be my attempt to remedy this problem.- Riya saying her debt for him ended today. He saved her twice so that doesn't make sense, or there was some else hidden under the line?
Actually, Arjun saves Riya's life just once, when she gets shot. The second time, he doesn't really save her - they just share a moment between themHopefully next chapter is from arjuns pov and we see more inside his head. Thanks for updating fast🤗
