"Sakshi thinks it was rude of me to shout at her. But only I knew the true reason. I was worried when she didn't attend my call. I was so scared. In our profession any thing can go wrong any time and that mere thought made my throat dry. What if something happened to her. That thought started affecting my brain, I couldn't think and I couldn't talk properly. I still don't know why that thought affected me this bad. And that is when she entered happily with a burger in her hand as if she was coming from a picnic spot. Can anyone blame me if I reacted the way I did? But my intuition was right, she met with an accident though it was nothing connected to a case. And tonight I actually apologized to her and I am not even feeling bad about it. On top of that I agreed to be friends with her. Why? I never make friends this easily. Why it was so easy with her and there is something familiar about her" Arjun continued thinking about her and he doesn't know when he dozed off. He woke up suddenly when he heard a scream of Sakshi
He took his gun and ran towards Sakshi's room.But he sighed and relaxed when he entered inside. Books are spread all over the floor and Sakshi is lying in the middle of all those books
"Sakshi Whats going on?' Asked Arjun immediately
"I was taking one book from the pile and all the other books fell on me and that heavy album fell on my foot" said Sakshi massaging there
"Oh Sakshi, you should have called me to take that. See its bruised now. Now both your feet are injured" said Arjun with concern and walked towards her and gently touched her foot. "You can't walk without falling down can you? Let me take some ointment. Don't move from here" said Arjun and he came back soon with an ointment in hand. He sat down and gently took her foot on his lap. Then started applying the ointment but stopped when he heard Sakshi's gasp
"Sorry sorry. Is it hurting a lot?" Asked a concerned Arjun and Sakshi nodded. He slowly started to caress on the bruise while applying the ointment oblivious to someone's feeling.
Sakshi cursed herself for letting this happen. When she felt Arjun's touch on her foot her heart started beating faster and she gasped a bit. But poor Arjun thought that it's her pain and started to caress on her bruise which made it worse.
"Arjun, I will do it. Don't trouble yourself" said Sakshi trying to take her leg from his lap
"What trouble. You are calling me your friend and not even letting me to help you? " Said Arjun
"Its not that, its almost mid night. You should sleep" said Sakshi
"Dont worry about me. Have this pain killer now" said Arjun offering a tablet. Sakshi took it and sat on the bed. Arjun took the heavy album in his hand "Wow this album is here? I have been searching for this. These photos are my first experiments in photography and some childhood photos"
"Can I see that?" Asked Sakshi
"Yes, but tomorrow evening. Now you sleep" said Arjun and kept all the books and album on a table. " I will ask Radha ji {servant) to put it back tomorrow" said Arjun and switched off the light. He went out closing the door behind him
Sakshi smiled to herself and lay on bed
"He looks so sweet when he shows concern. Didn't see that face after my birthday" thought Sakshi and slept
Next Morning
Sakshi didn't wake up early as she took the pain killer. A knock on the door woke her up.
"Sakshi, aren't you coming down for breakfast?" the voice of Mrs Rawte asked entering inside
"You are not up yet? Arjun is ready there" then she saw her face and asked "What happened, you dont look well" said Mrs Rawte and checked her temperature "Oh you have a fever Sakshi" said she in a concerned voice
"Thats ok Aunty ji, I will take a tablet for that" said Sakshi and tried to stand but she screamed in pain and sat back
"God! What happened to your other foot?That is swollen" said Mrs Rawte. Sakshi told her what happened last night
"You have to be careful dear, I will call doctor" said Mrs rawte and went out
After sometime she came in with doctor and Arjun. Doctor checked her and said " Don't worry
this swelling will go away soon, but the other foot might take two three days to heal . So she needs to take rest. Try not to give stress on your foot." said doctor
"So I cant go to office?" Asked Sakshi
"Its better if you stay here" said doctor
"Dont worry about that Sakshi, Someone from ETF will set up the system here so that you can do your job here itself. Take care, I should go now" said Arjun looking at his watch and went away
Arjun reached home in the evening. He went to Sakshi's room after quickly freshening up. Sakshi and Mrs Rawte were having tea and watching some daily soap in her laptop
"So this is your "work from home" Miss Sakshi Anand?" asked Arjun crossing his hands over his chest
Sakshi and Mrs Rawte turned their head
"I finished all the work you gave and I gave the details of suspect to Aisha. I just started this when Aunty brought tea" explained Sakshi quickly
Arjun smiled quickly "Chill Sakshi, I was kidding"
"No one knows when your mood changes, thats why I clarified everything" said Sakshi with a straight face
"Oh really?" said Arjun playfully raising his eyebrows and turned to his mom "Mom tea please"
"Yes dear, Sakshi please pause that video, will see when I am back" and mrs Rawte went away
"So how are you?" asked Arjun genuinely
"Very bad. I dont like to lie down like this" pouted Sakshi
"But no other option. Team will come tomorrow to meet you" Said Arjun
"Okay. Arjun, show me that album. You said we can see it today" Said Sakshi excitedly
"Oh You still remember that?" Said Arjun and walked towards the shelf where the album is kept. He pulled a chair to sit near Sakshi and opened the album
"I started this hobby when I was around fourteen. See this, my very first click" Sakshi saw his mom standing in the garden and smiling. She is very young and beautiful in this photo. "And these pictures are also my first time clicks" said Arjun pointing another fifteen year old boy who is showing a fake attitude pose
"This face looks familiar" asked Sakshi
"Oh that's Sameer. I thought you understood" said Arjun
"What? He looks so lean now" said Sakshi
"he had to try very hard for that " chuckled Arjun
Then there is another one in which both Arjun and Sameer hugging Mrs Rawte from each side. " I think we are around eight year old in this." said Arjun There were so many adorable photos of Arjun, Sameer and Mrs Rawte.
Then Arjun turned to her an said
"I think there is one photo of you here. Remember?? You and your parents came here for a party and then you didn't want leave with them as you wanted to play with me and then you stayed here for two days" said Arjun
"Yes yes, you are right. I remember only small details. "
"Yes, you were only four that time I think" said Arjun while searching for that photo
"Here you are , see.." Said Arjun pointing a photo. In that picture Mrs Rawte was sitting with Sakshi on her lap, Arjun sitting on the left side of Mrs Rawte.
"Wow Arjun, can you give me a copy of this?" Asked Sakshi emotionally
"Sure, there are more I think" said Arjun while flipping the pages " here it is see"
There is a picture of just Sakshi and Arjun. Sakshi is standing with an angry face, and Arjun is having a wide grin on his face.
"Ohh ohh I remember this one" said Sakshi excitedly "You said my parents are not going to come to pick me up and they left me here forever and we had a fight on that" said Sakshi
"Ya you are right.. Actually now when I look at this picture, you haven't changed much but somehow I couldn't recognize you when we met at petals. I think we lost connection after this. I never saw you guys then. Just met Anand uncle during some official parties. We should have kept in touch " said Arjun
Sakshi looked down but didn't say anything. So he didn't press the matter further and continued with pictures
"Me and Sameer both started this passion together. But then he soon became my model" chuckled Arjun as if remembering those moments.
"You both look really cute" said Sakshi touching those photos affectionately. They both sat there for a long time watching the photo albums until Mrs Rawte came with tea
"You guys are watching photos?"
Asked Mrs Rawte joining them
"Yes mom see this, I found a photo of Sakshi" said Arjun and showed her
"Look at you guys How cute you both were" then she flipped through pages and saw photos of Arjun and Sameer "These two always used to follow me where ever I go. Now when they became big police officers, I have to run after them to talk." said Mrs Rawte slapping Arjun's shoulder in fake anger and continued " you know Sakshi, when Sameer was born I was already pregnant with Arjun. Me and Sameer's mom even fixed their marriage hoping that I am having a girl" laughed Mrs Rawte with Sakshi when Arjun showed a shocked expression
"What mom?? You never told me this. Deciding the marriage even before I was born is really stupid" said Arjun and Sakshi laughed more watching his horrified expression
"Stupid thing?? We were very serious that time.If you were a girl, you would have become Mrs Rathore by now?" said Mrs Rawte snd Sakshi burst out laughing.
" Arjun please don't blush when you see your groom tomorrow" said Sakshi and both the ladies laughed hard
"Unbelievable" said Arjun with a disgusted expression "So Aisha should give me a treat for not stealing her lover" said Arjun with a smile and stood up "I will be right back"
