They heard a voice.

Now-

They looked at each other and moved toward the voice in shock.

Once turned the big tree, they saw a girl under it and was crying helplessly.

He signaled Sakshi and stood there.

She went near the girl and cleared her throat once.

The girl stopped crying and looked up.

Once saw them standing there she eyed them suspiciously and got to her feet fast.

She tried to run away from them. But Sakshi was quick enough to hold her hand and made her stop.

"Don't panic dear! We won't harm you," She said softly.

She was shocked at Sakshi's action. Before she could calm herself, Sakshi asked, "Who are you? Why are you crying? What are you doing here?"

She started asking her without stopping.

"Oh, Come on, Sakshi! Make it slow! Let her speak too!"

He said and looked the girl.

"See, we can help you, trust us! He is a police man!"

She said deliberately and the girl looked at him with fear in the eyes, as expected.

Sakshi turned toward him and smirked.

She started talking to the girl as though she was the guardian angel to the mother earth.

"Dear! See, I can understand your feelings. What's your problem? Has your boy friend cheated you?"

Sakshi asked and looked Arjun. His eyebrows knitted slowly. Her eyes came to the girl yet again as the girl started crying anew.

'Oh!' Sakshi startled and slightly hugged her.

She was stroking her head softly as the girl started to talk.

She asked innocently, "How do you know?"

"It's simple dear! A girl can understand a girl's heart," she whispered and made the girl sit again.

Arjun rolled his eyes and shook his head as was watching the drama.

The girl started,

"My name is Dharani. I'm from the village just behind the forest!"

Arjun and Sakshi gave a knowing look at each other, that after all they could make their way out of the forest.

Dharani was the only child of Mr. Sivaram Sharma. He brought up the motherless girl dearly. They were like friends until the love affair of the daughter with Shankar Menon, fell in the father's ears.

He started opposing the marriage from day one, once he heard about them. He was creating more reasons daily, to do so.

One day he would say, Shankar's family background was not enough to get his daughter.

One day he would say, he was not looking good to get his daughter's hand in marriage.

And one day he would say, he was from other caste and their habits would not go with his family.

She had waited long to convince him, but she had to admit her defeat at last.

One day, when the lovers met secretly as they did before, Shankar said, how long they could wait for her father to accept him, in frustration and he gave her an idea to trap her father.

He said, she had to tell her father that they had gotten married even before he came to know about their affair and he reassured her that it was the last threat and her father would definitely accept their marriage.

And the innocent girl did as he said.

But both of them did not know then, what a lie would cost.
