The ^ Way is through!

Till now-

Sakshi and Arjun are in the jungle with the girl they find there, Miss. Dharani. She is crying and saying her story as she is in love with Shankar Menon and her father is angry on her for that. The lovers plan to say her father that they already got married in the hope that he may accept their love...

Now-

Part-4:

"How many things have to happen to you before something occurs to you?"

Once heard her say the news (the marriage), her father blazed her.

He had stopped talking to her.

She could not bear his silence and was about to tell him the truth, that was when her father called her for the first time in days.

He said that he had to think about the matter, hence she had to wait and he got a promise that she would not tell the matter to anyone.

She agreed gleefully.

And now two days back her friend Sarala came to inform her that she saw her boyfriend with another girl. They were wandering the town everywhere and anytime together.

She did not believe that prattle until she heard that they were going to get married soon.

She waited for him to come in their secret place to talk about the rumor.

But he did not show up.

She came to that he was not in the village at present at last.

And now she got a new problem that if her father heard the news, he would be more than happy and would marry her to someone else easily and instantly.

"That's why I left the house in his absence and came to the forest to- to-"

She stopped at the mid sentence.

"Commit suicide?"

He talked after a long while.

She started crying as Sakshi started consoling her.

"It's ok, it's ok, dear!"

"Then why didn't you do it?"

He asked suddenly that made the girls jerk at him.

Sakshi looked at him threateningly.

Before she could warn him the girl started talking to him.

"I came to do it, all right," She smiled bitterly, "After seeing the water falls on the way, I tried to jump into it, but once saw the depth; I was scared and couldn't jump into it. Then I started searching a more precise place and walked, walked and walked-"

"Then what?"

He cut her in.

"Then what," she heaved a sigh, "I lost my strength and the thought to commit a suicide. Then came here and you found me here!"

She finished lightly.

"Why did you cry then?"

He asked casually and seemed to know the answer by then.

Then she rumbled a bomb under their legs, silently.

"I forgot the way back to the village!"

Sakshi shocked to the core literally and stood up like a spring!

Part-5:

"The best way out is always through."

The girl looked Sakshi confusingly and got to her feet slowly. "You said, you would help me?"

She asked helplessly.

"I did!"

Sakshi was telling from her trance, unknowingly.

"And he is a police, he can help me finding him, right?" she asked slowly.

Sakshi's attitude towards the girl had changed at this point.

She looked Arjun as she replied the girl.

"Of course, he will find him," she said sarcastically, "And if your boy friend denies to come to you, he will punch him hard to do so!"

He nodded in negative slightly and warned her to stop this sort of talk, but she ignored him.

The girl got angry at her reply.

She turned away from them and took a couple of fast strides, but was stopped by his next words.

"So you are ready to marry someone else?"

He made that question sound casual.

She stood a moment and then she was steady in her tracks.

"Well, you are ready to kill him?"

She stood and turned toward him bewilderingly.

He continued,

"And some punches won't hurt a lot, I think, if they are going to kill him!"

Dharani was now seemed like looking two devils with her naked eyes.

"What?- What did you say?"

"Just the truth!" he did not budge in.

"But why?"

She was on the verge of crying now.

But he asked her now a different question.

"Will they search you here?"

"No, why?"

"How far this forest from the village?"

"Nearly three kilometers!"

"Did you leave a letter behind?"

"Yes!" she said as she thought of the sheet of paper that she put under the telephone.

Dear father,

I could not find any other way than this. I'm sorry...'

Now wait a minute! He was telling something!'

"If your father got that letter by now, they would have definitely started searching him. If he was found without you..."

"No!" she shrieked.

"Yes! They are going to think that he had done something to you, to get this another girl!"

He had finished telling everything.

"I can't let that happen! I can't!"

She swore.

"To do that we should find him first, before the others and to do that we should get out of the forest first!"

He outlined the problem further, lightly.

"That's right!"

She admitted, at once.

"Can you tell me, the way to that waterfall which you crossed on your way?"

"Sure!"

She said and searched something around.

"Mm!"

"Wait a minute!"

She insisted him and searched some more.

Then said,

"This way!"

She pointed out the way, which Arjun and Sakshi came from.

Sakshi glared her as Arjun said softly, "In that way we did not see a fall on our way, so we can try the other way from here!"

He suggested.

Dharani agreed at once.

Thus the three started their journey through the forest to find a way out.

Sakshi thought of the line she read somewhere, 'The only way out is through!'

Part-7:

Once came out of the water, they tried to dry their clothes.

Dharani said, somewhat explanatorily as she thought she should.

"When I came this morning, the water level was much low, you know!" She saw Sakshi apologetically.

But she did not lend her ears to her.

"I crossed it just by walking and thought, it was my bad luck that there was no water in it to kill myself..."

Arjun saw this and said, "I can see your point!"

She smiled at him thankfully.

As they were about to resume their journey Sakshi announced, she was hungry.

Arjun thought to rebuke her that they had to move fast, for they did not know the situation in the village and they could not do much once darkness fell, but Dharani too agreed to have something that she had not had anything since morning.

He did not have much choice but to incline. He volunteered to go and get something in the woods, but both girls interrupted him.

"No!" they screamed in unison as Dharani thought Sakshi would start to flay her if they were alone, though she could not understand the reason for her irritation towards her; as Sakshi thought he might get danger if he went alone, the elephant once came to her mind.

"See, you are tired! Let me go!"

He explained.

They had to accept his reasoning.

"But don't go too far!" Sakshi pleaded.

"Right!"

The other two accepted it in unison.

Once he went away Dharani thought before he returned she should correct her terms with Sakshi.

But what she did not know was where to start.

They stood in silence.

After some time Dharani turned to Sakshi and she tried to explain her state.

"I'm sorry, I'm disturbing you!"

"No, you are not!"

Sakshi replied immediately as she smiled at Dharani.

Dharani smiled back and said," You are mistaken Dhi, you don't know, how he was agitated once saw you in the water! You didn't hear him and was moving fast into the waters. He cursed himself for letting you in danger, for bringing you to the forest and for..."

She stopped short as Sakshi yet again started glaring her.

What did I say? Oh my God! I couldn't console her!'

She thought as she saw Arjun was approaching them.

She said hastily, "We are like you two, you know! He will never turn his face against me!"

Sakshi turned vigorously to deny her words as she saw Arjun with in ear shot and got that he heard Dharani's words in his eyes.

He said,"Sakshi, take these fruits! Your favorite ones! Guavas! I didn't have to go too far, you know! If you feel hungry still once finished these we can get more!"

He shut her and gave her some of the fruits.

Dharani said deliberately, "Oh, I don't like it much! I can't take it much!" as he gave some to her.

They smiled at each other knowingly. Dharani winked at him as he said," No, you can't say so and avoid eating, for in a journey like this, you won't know when you will get a something to eat again. So, you can't avoid them just for you don't like them dearly."

He nodded at her.

And to their annoyance Sakshi was seeing this whole drama quietly.

She did not wasn't them to cajole her and she said, "And you Arjun, can't say, you don't like them and won't eat, since I have a lot here to share with you!" She showed the fruits, "And we can get more as you said!"

She raised an eyebrow at them.

And now everyone laughed as the situation turned slowly to normal.

Sakshi saw him laughing. That was for the first time she witnessing him laughing aloud, though it was for the girl, she thought.
