Chapter 8

Riya gazes at the waves, feeling peaceful and light. She hears a voice behind her say "feel like staying here when you see this?". Turning around, her eyes widen seeing a curly haired woman smile an understanding smile at her. she said "you?"

Ro: yes me. wow, I did'nt think you would recognize me.

Ri: how can I not recognize you roshniji. You are even more beautiful.

Ro: thank you for the compliment riya. How do you like the beach?

Ri: peaceful and light.

Ro: just like the way you are feeling right now. Right?

Riya looks at her confused.

Ro: where do you think you are riya?

Ri: in heaven. I am dead. Right?

Ro: no my dear, you are not in heaven. You are what the doctor's would call it as a waiting area.

Ri: but if I am here, then how can I finish my wait?

Ro: depends upon you. Do you want to live or die?

Riya gazes at the waves, her thoughts lost in speculation. If she is alive, what she has to live for? Her parents are dead and the one person she loves does'nt love her back. If she dies, then at least she can be with her parents. Roshni does'nt look at her but gazes at the sea a smile tinged with sadness. riya is going to say when the scene suddenly changes in front of her, the waves and beaches slowly transforms into a hospital scene like a movie. She sees herself lying on the bed with arjun sir stroking her cheek.

In the hospital,

Arj: riya, it is been 2 months since you have been in a coma. 2 months. When are you going to come back?

Riya remains silent.

Arj: you know riya, why I was always strict with you? Because seeing you made me think of a glass, fragile and innocent. But even a glass can be strong and you showed me that. Inspite of being innocent, you showed a strong will and a steel spine and would never take any lying down. I liked that. Slowly, I started having this invisible feeling in me, something which I was afraid to give a name to. Yes for the first time arjun rawte became scared of you for arousing this feeling in me. I thought that that will be the only time, that I will have this fear but no I was wrong. I have realized that I am scared again. I am scared that I won't be able to experience this feeling for you again. I am scared that I will lose you again. And I don't want that riya. I don't want to lose you. I want to spend my time with you. I want to this feeling to become love for you. But that won't happen if you remain like this riya. Tell me riya, have I lost my chance to be with you?

The scene slowly fades and roshni turns to see tears coming up in riya's eyes. she simply asks "have you made your choice riya? Has arjun lost his chance?"
