hello everyone...I know I am damn late..but kya karu??

got suddenly busy and then went out of station so even after resing my post here couldn't post the chapter,...😛

but finally i am back and finally ready to post...😃

but before the chapter let me clarify a few things..i am not changing the concept or track of my story...

neither would tell anyone who remains in the end..

those who had showed interest to read the story with the suspense intact..i will pm them for this part...

Chapter 20

Sameer and Ayesha reached ayesha's place in complete silence.Both were aware of the emotional turmoils in the heart of their beloved friends and preferred to keep quite. It was raining heavily and ayesha called sameer in to wait until the rain slows down or stops.

Sameer didn't reject. He had some other plans. He took his seat in her hall while she went to change. She came back to find sameer standing at the open window feeling the droplets on his face lost in thoughts. She walked to him and held his arm.

'Sameer,kiya kar rahe ho?bheeg jaoge,' she called him,

But Sameer kept looking outside. After a long pause he spoke up,

'Riya aur arjun ke beech kya problem tha ayesha? i want to know,' he looked at her but she avoided and turned to walk away, but sameer held her.

'aj nehi ayesha, riya ne aisa kiya galti ki thi jo aj dono aise...batao ayesha, mujhe janna hai, aur aj koi promise nehi..please batao ayesha..' he literally pleaded,

Ayesha stood still.She looked at the man in front.He had always kept his place unaltered in between everything that had happened. But things have taken a different turn altogether,things are beyond repair now but if any hope still remains it was this man who was always capable of putting things back in right place. Its a time when its better to break a promise which might mend things rather than keeping a promise which would only destroy the leftovers.

Ayesha left his hand and walked away to the sofa, thoughtful. Sameer followed her there and sat beside her. He knew she would tell him everything today. He waited for her to start but she didn't. So he started to help her,

'Riya ka wo delhi wala mission,wahi se suru hua tha na?riya ke delhi wale mission se arjun pareshan tha,mission ke liye mana bhi kiya tha,meine bhi uska saath diya tha,per fir achanak aya aur mission accept karne ko kehe diya.mujhe shaq to hua tha per..Aisa kya hua tha ayesha?aur fir unke beech sab thik bhi ho gaya tha,after riya came back from the mission, then what happened after that?riya ne kya kiya tha?aisa kya hua tha ki arjun completely avoided her?ayesha tumhe pata hai,batao..'

'riya ne mission mein jane ke liye...'she started with irritation but stopped and looked away.Sameer pressed her palm and she started again, this time calmly.

'riya was pregnant sameer when that mission came up and she aborted her child to take the mission in hand.'

'What?what are you speaking ayesha?hosh mein to ho?'

'ye sach hai sameer..'she looked at him and her eyes showed truth,

'Tum arjun ko galat keheto ho na?Wo galat hai per usne bhi tab koshish ki thi sameer,'ayesha continued,'Mission ke baad jab riya wapas ayi,usne sab maan liya tha.They started again,but fate played its game.They came to know Riya could never be a mother, us abortion ke liye kuch complications ho gaye the, which affected her motherhood.'

Ayesha stopped there looking at an angry and shocked sameer.

Arjun composed himself after a long time and left sakshi.He started coughing from extended period of emotional outburst.His eyes were red.He fisted his hair and closed his eyes to prevent his heart from tearing apart from his chest and thrust out.

Sakshi left him for sometime while she went to get him another glass of water.She came back to find him sitting on the chair looking at a distance,his hands lay numb on the table.She stepped closer to him and caressed his hair.He held her hand in his hair,still looking at a distance and then back to her.

She faintly smiled at him and forwarded the glass of water,which he reluctantly held and sipped,all the while looking at her.He kept the glass aside and held her shoulders,

'sakshi tumhe ab saab pata hai,mein,riya,humara separation sab kuch,tum batao mein kya karu?'

'so jao,'she answered him after a long pause,to which he frowned surprised,

'kya?'he voiced out confused,

'bohot raat ho gayi hai arjun,aj chalo so jao,kal baat karenge,'she replied back,

Arjun kept looking at her.She had a pale face and gloomy eyes,which was unusual for her nature.He knew the reason behind it but he couldnt do anything to remove it.

Sakshi didnt receive a reply and nudged him further,

'Arjun,kya hua?ghar nehi jaoge?bohot raat ho gayi hai,'she reminded him,

Again a long silence followed.It was getting difficult for sakshi to understand where everything of this was leading.She was already controlling herself from breaking down in front of an already broken arjun.She had thought of a number of questions she would ask him,once they confront but she couldnt and kept numb.

She looked on while Arjun stood up from the chair and came close to her.In the next glimpse of second she was in his arms,while his face nudge more towards her nape.She wrapped her arms at his back when she felt drop of tear wet her neck and roll down her back.

She rubbed her hand on his back to calm him down.She felt him loosen her and kiss her forehead and then her cheek.He left her arms and moved to the door in quick steps.He had opened the door and stepped out when Sakshi called him back.He turned towards her,

'will you give up on me now?'she asked sternly,with a face devoid of any emotions,

Finally a question from her actually relieved Arjun.But the question she asked brought more pain with itself,than he had thought.He looked at her eyes and found a lost hope. She had never asked him anything,but today he needed to answer her.

He turned back to the door and spoke up,before stepping out,

'No,'

he walked out without turning back,missing the fading color in sakshi's eyes and face.She knew well then she had lost him.

Jaane kyun main sochta hoon

Khaali sa main, ik raasta hoon

Tune mujhe kahin kho diya hai

Yaa main kahin khud laapata hoon

Aa dhoond le tu phir mujhe

Kasamein bhi doon toh kya tujhe...

Aashiqui baazi hai taash ki

Arjun was driving back home.Accepting everything in front of sakshi had relieved a burden from his heart.Though the hidden pain, the suffering and the lost feelings had resurfaced but he was calm that someone could understand his pain and longing.

He started towards his house but his lost self made him lose the direction.He drove aimlessly and reached a different road.He came back to his sense when he took a wrong way and the police van started following him and stopping him at the next signal.

They would have asked for some extra pounds had not he given them his famous glares.He turned back and returned to his known road,the road to his home.He is taking this road for years now.Sometimes calming himself driving aimlessly, sometimes driving fast to reach home soon and sometimes with 'her',slow and swift drives, on their never ending long drives,riya was crazy for it.

It was sometime Riya had comeback from her mission from delhi.The mission was a big success and she was excited.But the faraway look in arjun's eyes bothered her too much.She knew he had despised her completely and living a lonely life.

She apologised,waited for him,spoke to him but everything had turned even more sour than she had left behind.Arjun started remaining aloof from her,from their home.She waited hours for him,at office,at home but nothing yeilded any result.

One such occasion when there was no trace of him,riya was waiting for him at the ETF office.When it was quite late she finished her work and headed back home,all the time trying to speak to him,but he didn't received her call.It was dark but not night and the road was filled with traffic.She was waiting at the signal when she saw a small kid crossing the road and a car running towards him in a wrong direction.

She instantly stepped out of the car and ran to the kid.She pushed the kid aside but couldnt save herself.The car hit her and she fell on the road.The injury wasn't too deep but she was hit hard and was bleeding at places.

The pedestrians took her to the nearby hospital and the hospital informed sameer, after checking her ID card .It was then Arjun came to know and ran to her.The days he spent with her were the most difficult and the most peaceful days for both of them.

She came back to him happy and excited and he couldnt hurt her more.They planned to start again.Their relation,their marriage,she wanted him to forget all her mistakes.He didnt want to but gave in to her pleadings.But some blows were still left.

It was some months after her accident.She had recovered and they had started their life together.They thought they had truely started their marriage again.Riya planned for another child.Arjun didnt reject.He was happy along with Riya.

She was happy and this time she was looking forward to their child.Arjun was the happiest man.He forgot everything and loved her.But then the blow came back again.She went through a few medical tests and it proved she would never be able to womb a child.The earlier abortion had left a few complications which even medical science couldnt help.

Arjun didnt blame her this time.He just kept silent again like before.He had accepted his fate,his destiny.The desire for a family which he could call his own,was never in his fate.He had abandoned his parents long back and this was somewhere the return for him.

Arjun's restless trance was broken with a bike speeding by him,making fun of him.He stopped the car at the side instantly and looked at them angry.But they had long gone,leaving the dusty road with a misty wind.He knew well they were drunk and no use giving them his infamous glares,better was to keep his silence.

As he did long back.He kept his silence through out.He never missed his duties towards his work or his home nor his wife.Neither did riya.Riya too had kept her silence when Arjun started keeping himself busy with work and then the lurking dangers in their job. Riya felt guilty for their loss but it wasnt enough to stop her from promoting herself in her career. Soon she was chosen for another mission and then it continued. She kept herself busy in work, though she did well getting loads of compliments from others she was losing on her personal front.

There developed an awkward emptiness between them. After a long time when the silence started haunting her,riya finally decided to break their already shattered relationship.

He was hurt with the proposal from riya but again kept silent.Had he spoken then things might have been different.Atleast he wouldnt have hurt sakshi,or brought sakshi in this turmoil in his already wrecked life.

He parked the car in front of his house and looked up.The lights were still glowing in the room.Riya was still awake.He walked up fast and went straight to her room.The door wasnt locked.He was about to push the door aside and walk in but stopped when he heard her voice from inside.

It wasnt the old cheerful voice,though he could hear the happy words from her.She was speaking to someone.

'tum bhi na,kabhi nehi sudhroge.thik hai mein kal tumse milti hu,ab rakho phone,der ghante se baat kar rahe ho...over smartness will make you pay honey...goodnight..'

Arjun peeped in and found her smiling at the phone.But the next instance her smile faded away and she bit her lip to control the pain which engulfed her.He saw her blink her eyes several time before she switched the lights off.

Arjun walked down,filled with more remorse and pain.He knew how things had fallen apart but now he couldnt keep his silence anymore.He needed to speak to Riya and decide their course of life.

'One minute,who was she speaking to??it couldnt be sam.Was she in love again?' the thought scared him more than the pain it had brought back.

Toota hua saaz hoon main

Khud se hi naaraz hoon main

Seene mein jo kahin pe dabi hai

Aisi koi aawaaz hoon main

Sun le mujhe tu bin kahe..
