Hey guys, so thank you for letting me know about your opinions. After a lot of thought and considerations, I have decided to show everyone's pov. This part will start in Prerna's pov and then carry on in everyone's. I hope you like it...Part 9 -
"Hello," I said. "ACP Prerna Singh Teje?" A stern voice replies. My eyes widen in shock."K...k..kon hai?" "Commissioner of Mumbai Police." For a moment, I'm left speechless."ACP Prerna Singh Teje kabka marr chuki hai. She's not alive." The man continues, "I know you are alive Teje. And I want to meet you. You are still an officer until you resign. I want you to meet me once, listen to me and make your decision, you can even resign at that moment." I didn't want any of this bullshit. "If you know me that well you know my decision. You have the power to take away my uniform. I quit." The man took a loud sigh and said, "I'm still your senior and it's my order that you meet me. Tomorrow 8am sharp at Chandigarh police thane." The call ended. I sat there for a second. I will never go back. Never.
All night I was in deep thought. Kriti tai went to her room around midnight after watching tv. I finally closed my eyes and slept. I saw my days of training, mistakes and achievements and... Arjun. No. I can't think about him.
The morning came quicker than I expected it to. I got ready and was about to take out my clothes. I saw my khaki uniform, bitter memories came up. I took out a kurti, to show the commissioner that I would not go back to being the old Prerna. It took me another five minutes to get ready and I was on my way, dreading what would come up.
I had never been to Chandigarh police thane, as I was posted in Mumbai. As soon as I stepped in, every single person stood up and saluted me. If it was the same situation, but 5 years ago, I would have felt proud. But today, it meant nothing. I nodded for them to sit down and walked into the cabin. Just that second, the minute hand moved to show exactly 8 o'clock. "Very puntual, abhi bhi tumhari aadate badli nahi. That's why you're called the best." I gave him a look. "Aaj itne saal baad aapko meri yaad kese aayi. What do you want?" "Sit down first," he said, "I want you to listen to me very carefully before you quit. It's a very important job and I can only trust you to do it. I want you to" I interrupt him,"This country has a lot of officers, and they are very efficient. Why me?" "I want you to protect Arjun Rawte."
My eyes nearly popped out. "Have you gone mad?!?!?! Uss insaan ki vajhe se meh apni jaan gavaa sakthi thi. And you want me to protect him?" I started explaining what happened that fateful day...
*Flashback*
"Aaj ek ki jaan jayegi. Yaa toh tumhari mehbooba ya phir pyaari dost. Khon? Tumhaari marzi..." Sikander laughed.
The men began kicking Arjun and his hold got weaker. He couldn't take it anymore. "Ho sake to mujhe maaf kardena." He let go... of me. I fell down the rocky cliff onto a quiet road.
Some people found me and took me to hospital. Then Kritika tai found out and took care of me. I was in coma for 2 years. When I came out of coma, I was in shock and left everything; even hope. I went to Chandigarh with Kriti tai and started afresh. I had been learning dance for years so I became a dance teacher, leaving no trace of the famous ACP.
I swear that the commissioner had a tear in his eyes, because everyone thought that I was killed by Sikander and pushed over the cliff. He started speaking, "Main manta hoon ki tumhaare saath bohut bura hua. Lekin I need your help to catch him. Sikander is after Arjun's life. He has already murdered Arjun's wife. That too, in front of his eyes."
"Kya?! Roshni..." I say, not being able to come over the shock he just gave me. "Yes. And Arjun is now a shell, with no feelings. He doesn't care about himself or his life anymore. He still works. But with no feelings."
"I'm sorry. I can't" I got up to leave. "I'll do you a deal. If you protect Arjun from harm, I will help you track down your father." My face was blank. My mind was not responding to me, what should I do? "Kabse?" The man smiled, " Your duty starts at Mumbai ETF from the day after tomorrow." I nod and silently walk out.
As I was driving tears were pouring down; this was the biggest test of my life. How could I come face to face with him and not die? I made a decision: no emotions, no feelings. This was the only way to find my father.
Kritika tai definitely didn't have the best reaction to this. "No way! Tum kahi nai jaa rahi ho. Samjhi?!" I explained myself, "Yeh sirf ek hi raasta hai mere dad thak pohoch ne kiliye. I need to punish that man; he ruined my life." It didn't take long to convince her.
The next morning, my bags were packed and I went to the school. The children each presented me with a rose and gave me a kiss. I had tears in my eyes, we had built a very strong relationship over the 3 years. When I reached the door, I saw Naina, Daksha, Prithvi and Ajay waiting. "Arrey, tum log yaha? Class nahi hai kya?" Prithvi said "Tu kahi nai jaa rahi, samjhi? Agar tu yaha nai rahegi, to humme control kon karega, huh?" That made me laugh, "Yeh to tune sahi kaha. I promise main tumlogo ko milne aoongi aur phone bhi karungi. Mujhe updates dete rehna haan?" I hugged them all, they had become my good friends. Whenever I was sad, they would cheer me up and I would stop them from getting into trouble whilst doing masti. I realised that I would miss this place and everyone a lot.
On the 6 hour journey, I prepared myself to face whatever comes across, to face him. I went into Mumbai, the city of dreams, the city that crushed my dreams. I still had a day to unpack and relax, so I went to my old house.
I stepped thorough the door, everything was exactly the same; except me. I sensed the feeling of loneliness this place had. A pile of letters was waiting for me. Inside, the furniture was covered in dust. I sat down on the sofa and remembered sweet memories... Arjun was once so excited to drink my tea, he took a large sip and burnt his tongue. I chuckled, then the smile disappeared. I was tired from the journey so I went and slept, awaiting the future...
And THAT is the end of Prerna's story. Phew!!😆 Continue reading...
ETF office
It was 9am. Chotu and Ayesha were sitting doing their work when Shree came in, looking very excited. "Oi Shree, tu toh bohut khush lagraha hai. What happened?" said Chotu "Haan Shree, kya hua?" said Ayesha. Chotu sarcastically said "Kahin SYS aur Dammit chale to nahin gaye?" Shree laughed and Ayesha rolled her eyes, "Bol na. Tell us" she said.
"Aaj hume ek naya senior milne vala hai." Shree announced. Ayesha and Chotu were very confused "Tu pagal to nahi ho gaya hain na? How's that good news? Now there will be another person to yell their heads off everyday" Chotu exclaimed. Shree carried on, "Because she's the best. Every officer that's worked with her loved the experience. Apparently, she is the most fun senior you can have. Finally, a break from the 2 akdus." Ayesha said, "Rathore sir isn't an akdu. Vaise what's his name?" Shree and Chotu smirked, "Oy hoy Ayesha. Apne Rathore sir ke baare mein ek labz nahi, huh?" Ayesha couldn't control her blush, "Chup karr!" Shree spoke, "Anyway, it's a she. ACP Pr..."
Just as he was saying the name, Arjun and Sameer came into the meeting room. Shree mouthed "baad mein." Sameer sat down and said team naya case aaya hai..."
