Hey guys, sorry for updating so late; I had a lot of school work. I hope you like this part as it will be the last part of Arjun and Prerna's past. Then we will move on. Anyway, getting back to where we are...Part 7 -
*Flashback*
"Someone's kidnapped Roshini" he says, lines of worry were visible on forehead."What?!😲 How's that possible? I'm sure koi tumhe darane ki koshish kar raha hai. Call her once," I say, trying to calm him down. After all, how could someone KIDNAP Arjun Rawte's fiance? Arjun starts speaking again, "Kisine mujhe phone kiya aur kaha: Tumhare hone wali patni ko zinda dekh kar shaadi karna chahte ho toh you have to meet our demands. We will call you with the details, time and place in 2 hours. I tried Roshni's phone but it said switched off." "Don't worry Arjun. Roshni ko kuch nai hoga. Agar woh unke kabze mein hein toh wo kuch nai kar sakte. They can't harm her until we give them what they want. Just wait till their next call,we will track its location," I say, trying to calm him down.
2 hours passed by, Arjun had drunk 12 glasses of water and yet he had beads of sweat dripping down his face. I asked a junior to track where Roshni's phone was last on, but that didn't help; she was at home. Finally, the phone rang.
" 3 mehne pehle, tumne mere saathiyon ko tumne pakda ta. I want you to release them and arrange for a car for them to go. Remember, tumhari pyaari mehbooba mere paas hai, so don't try to be smart. I have given a note on your car windscreen which should be given to them." The call ended. "Hello. Hello?"
We rushed to the car. A piece of lined paper was left on the windscreen. On it was written strange marks and shapes. At first, we were confused, no idea what it all meant. Then Arjun remembered the criss-cross code we learnt in training. I had to hand it to him; the quick thinking never slowed down.
The upside down paan leaf meant 5. The message read: 5 o'clock at the godown on top of the cliff near M.C road. We arranged for some senior inspectors and their teams to catch the goons again on their way. This meant that they would tell their boss that they were free and we could catch them without worrying.
Speeding through the roads, we were tracking the number which was at the cliff point. Arjun was going as if there was no tomorrow (wink wink). Finally, we parked quite far away from the godown and started walking in that direction. Suddenly, someone hit us on our head an we lost our conscious.
I just about manage to open my eyes, my body ached. I had cuts and bruises all over my body. I turn my head to see that Arjun, Roshni and I are tied to a huge tree. Arjun was injured too, but not as badly as me, he just had a few bruises. Roshni wasn't hurt but looked worn out and exhausted.
Arjun and Roshni were already awake. We tried to untie ourselves, but it hurt. Just then, some men clothed in black cut the rope with knives.
"Tum itne masoom nikhloge yeh maine nai socha ta Arjun" said a man. He came wearing black like the others and a mask. "After all, even the great ACP Arjun Rawte can't beat me." "Overconfidence isn't good for your health" Arjun snapped. The masked man came towards us and said, "You fell into my trap very easily ACP. Those weren't my men, I tricked you. Just to get you here." "And why were you so eager to meet him?" I ask. "Revenge! Revenge, my dear! He killed my brother so I will ruin him!" The man took off his mask, "Sikander..." Arjun whispers."Ha main. Kyu? Abb pehchana mujhe?" "Matth karo aisa Sikander. Tumhara bhai ek terrorist tha. Woh masoom logo ko maar raha tha. He died for attacking our country." "Abb tum jaano ge ki apno ko kone ka dard kya hota hai..."
He looked at Roshni, then at me. "Inko iss khayi mein dhal do." The men were coming towards us. Arjun and I tried to fight them off but. They grabbed Roshni and me by the arm and dragged us to the edge. "Chodo uneh!" Arjun yelled.
They slid us over the edge..."Nooo!"😲 he screamed and ran over there. We were clinging on, holding on for our lives. He grabbed us by our hands and tried to pull us up. It was no use; we were all too weak. "Aaj ek ki jaan jayegi. Yaa toh tumhari mehbooba ya phir pyaari dost. Khon? Tumhaari marzi..." Sikander laughed.
The men began kicking Arjun and his hold got weaker. He couldn't take it anymore. "Ho sake to mujhe maaf kardena." He let go
