Part 8

Naina and Arjun were on the way to college. She was quite happy, but may be God didn't want to give her this happiness for so long. Naina suddenly remembered all that moments since the first day of college. She recalled all the memories she has spent with Arjun. She is in love with that guy who had relationships with almost all girls in their college,is she doing right? She was in dilemma, is Arjun seriously loves her. In all this thought unconsciously Naina had loosen her hand from Arjun's shoulder. He was in a high speed, and felt Naina was sitting behind without hold anything. Suddenly Arjun stopped the bike and asked her, "what happened?"

Naina was totally blank, she just nodded her head. Arjun shook her, "kya hua naina? Aise kyun baithe ho?"

Naina(got back her sense and smiled; she didn't want to say anything to him): kya hua mujhe? Kuch bhi to nahi... tumne bike roka kyun? Chalo

Arjun(confused): r u sure? Then hold me. Thikse baitho

Naina nodded her head and just touched his shoulder. Suddenly she was losing faith and confidence on Arjun. All the time she was thinking, "main jo kar rahi hu, vo sahi hai na?"

They reached to the college. Raushan was waiting for them at the main gate; He was relieved after seeing Naina was safe. He ran to them, "naina r u ok? Kaha chale gaye the tum?" Naina was silent, she was lost in a deep thought.

Arjun(looking at her): Haan she is ok.. aur baki sab abhi puch mat, baad me bataunga. Sun tu 10 mins me sabko leke recreation hall me mil. Sabko means u know na??

Raushan: yes I know.. tu jaa, main aata hu

Arjun held Naina's hand and said to her, "chale?"

Naina: kaha??

Arjun: kya hua hai tumhe? Aise kyun behave kar rahe ho? abhi to kaha recreation hall me jana hai

Naina: o.. ok.. chalo

Arjun was getting much confused, he find that suddenly Naina was reaching in a shell... she lost her smile, her charm.. but couldn't understand the exact cause. They reached to the hall, in this time almost half hall was full. All the students expect a spicy drama. The trio n T also entered in the hall, they found Arjun n Naina was standing in the center, holding each other's hand.

Arjun raised his voice to the students, "Guys hum aaj tak yaha kuch announce ya celebrate karne k liye aaye hai. Aaj bhi main kuch announce karne vala hu, most important decision in my life. Hope isse aaj subah se jo doubt tum sab ke maan me hai vo clear ho jaega." There was a undertone whispering in the hall. In that time Arjun sat on his knee and held her palm in his hand, "I love you Naina. Will u be mine forever?" Naina was staring at him, but she was silent. Arjun: kuch to bolo Naina

Naina: Am sorry Arjun.. I need some time..

Arjun was surprised. All the audience was shocked with her answer. They never expect Arjun will propose a girl in front of them,and she'll refuse him.

Arjun asked her, "Tumhe abhi bhi waqt chahiye?"

Naina(released her hand): Am sorry Arjun,now I cant accept you. Pls samajhne ki koshis karo..

Naina slowly left the hall. Arjun was still standing there and staring at the way she left. Raushan came to him, "bhai bahar chal, sab dekh rahe hai." But Arjun was not in state to listen to him. Raushan shook him, "bahar chal bhai, yaha par khade ho kar aapna mazak banana hai kya tujhe?" Arjun looked at him with a blank view, and spoke in a low voice, "Mazak to usne bana diya mera, zindegi me paheli baar kisi ladki se sachha pyar kiya tha main, aur mazak ban gaya mera."

Sid, Rahul n Sahil were standing there. Sid came to him and said, "kaha than a Arjun Malhotra. Ye sab ladki ek raat k liye thik hai, pyar karne k liye nahi. Tune iss ladki k liye apne dost ko dur kar diya. Chal koi nai... aab ise maza chakhate hai."

After hearing these Arjun glared at him, Raushan quickly dragged him from that place and said, "Dur rahena in sab chizon se. Arjun dsnt need ur silly advice." They both left the hall and listened all trio were laughing on them.

Raushan dropped Arjun to his home. He was totally shattered. Arjun slowly entered in his room and switched on the light. He saw that Naina's last night dresses were scattered on his bed. He slowly came to bed and picked up his t-shirt (which Naina wore last night). He touched it with his face and took the smell deeply. He closed his eyes and Naina's smiling face appeared in his mind vision. For the first time after his childhood, tears rolled down on his cheeks. He was feeling an unbearable pain in his heart. Pain of rejection, pain of solitude. He picked up the phone and called Naina, but she didn't answer him. He tried for a long time, but couldn't reach to her.

Other side, Naina was confused, blank; she was sitting at the corner of the dark room. She was thinking in her mind whatever she has done, that's right or wrong. She couldn't take a decision. She closed her eyes and cherished all the moments she spent with Arjun, she understood that she is in deeply love in with Arjun, but she was unable to make her belief on Arjun, because of his past. She felt so restless.

They both spent a sleepless night.

Next day, Arjun decided to sort out the matter, he went to college and met Naina in the coridor. Naina was standing alone, "Naina..", Arjun called her. Naina was shaken by his voice. She was stealing her eyes from him, "Look at me Naina, Kya hua hai tumhe? Kal ki baat bhul jao, main bas janna chahta hut um aise behave kyun kar rahe ho?"

Naina: Mujhe class k liye der ho rahi hai, mujhe jana hai.

She almost ran from there. This Naina was stranger for him. Raushan came to him and held his shoulder. Arjun quickly turned to him and without giving him a chance, he said ,"main thik hu, chal class me chalte hai."

Raushan: 1st class?? Aur tu?

Arjun: Haan kyun nahi, for a change aaj 1^st class attain kar hi lete hai

Arjun and Raushan entered in the class, Arjun felt that all students were just staring at him. Some of his classmate tried to ask him about his condition, but Arjun handle them very coolly without any harsh reaction. Raushan was quite surprised with his cool behavior. "tu thik hai na?"

Arjun: dekh phirse ye sawal pucha na to...

Raushan: ok ok...cool..

Arjun attained the lecture but he was lost in Naina, continuously staring at her pic. (in his phone). After the class Raushan took some time from Arjun, and went to meet Naina. Naina was in library. He called her outside.

Raushan: Arjun k bare me kuch pata hai?

Naina: Arjun shayad tumhara dost hai na? tumhe unke bare me pata hona chahiye

Raushan: Haan mujhe pata hai. Sab pata hai. Mujhe bas ye janna tha k tum kya sochte ho uske bare me?

Naina(rudely): Dekho mujhe na tumhari in sab baton me, nahi tumhare dost me koi interest hai. Mujhe andar jana hai, kuch aur bolna chahte ho?

Raushan was surprised, he just nodded his head, "but Naina, last time bol raha hu, jo kuch bhi kar rahe ho uske liye tumhe baad me pachtana na pare. Bye.. take care.."

Again Naina was in dilemma. She sat back on her seat and leaned down her head on desk, and start crying. After a while someone called her, her hostel father called her. Naina left the college. After attaining all the classes Arjun came out, he was pretending not to care but his eyes were continuously searched for Naina. But she was not there. Without informing anyone he left the college and went to the Hard Rock Pub. He ordered some hard drinks, and tried to get lost in liquor. But every sip reminded him about the rejection, reminded him all the words, promises of Naina. His held the glass tightly in his grip; suddenly it broke in his hand. He looked at his hand, it was bleeding, but he didn't care about it. He paid the bill and started for his home, he was quite drunk. He hardly managed the steering, suddenly he dashed his car with a tree, "Saali gadi ne bhi aaj dhokha de diya", he said this in drunk voice. And get out from car. He reached to his house by walking. After entering in house he directly reached to the bar corner, and start drinking. He had no care about his blood loss.

Other side, Raushan couldn't see Arjun's pain. After college he went to the girls' hostel to meet with Naina. Naina came down, "tum?? Phirse kya kahene aaye ho?"

Raushan: college k baad se Arjun mil nahi rahe hai. Tumne phirse kuch naya drama create kiya hai kya?

Naina(in caring voice): Arjun mil nahi raha hai?? (but she quickly control herself and back in previous harsh tone and in a sarcastic voice) Jake kisi ladki k ghar me check karo, zarur mil jaega.kisike bahon me hoga... its not new for u all na??

Raushan: Mind your language Naina.. Issi Arjun ki vajahse tum aaj yaha zinda khadi ho, aur uske bare me ye sab bolne me sharam nahi aarahi hai tumhe??

Naina(turned back to him, she was trying to hide her tears): Sharam?? Sach bolne me kaisi sharam???

Raushan( he was at the end point of his tolerance, he went to close to her and held her shoulder; turned Naina towards him and shook her. He saw tears in her eyes): Kyun kar rahe aisa?? Arjun ki galti kya hai?? Pata nahi kis haal me hai. Aaj class me baithke sirf tumhari pix dekh raha tha, aur tumhe koi farq nahi padta. Dur hi jana tha to aise paas kyun aaye? Bachpan se janta hu main use, pyar k liye tarasta hai, uncle-aunty sab apne kaam ko leke busy rahete the. Koi nahi tha use sambhalne vala. Pyar kya hai ye tumse pata chala hai use, aur tum usse dur ja rahi ho. mat karo aisa, Naina, mat jao use chhodke. Mar jaega vo."

Naina(brust into tears): Kya karu main?? Main use pyar karti hu, par trust?? Tumhe to sab kuch pata hai, vo dress change karne ki tarah ladki badalta tha. Usse kaise believe karu?? Kaise?? Kal raat se main yaha mar rahi hu, ye sab sochke.

Raushan: socho mat. Arjun badal chukka hai. Tum to use pyar karti ho, uske ankhon me tumhare liye pyar aur izzat saaf jhalakta hai. Jo aaj tak kisi bhi ladki k liye nahi tha, vo tumhare liye hai. Tum samajhte kyun nahi? Agar aaj Arjun ko kuch ho gaya na to uske zimmedar sirf tum hoge??

Suddenly Raushan's phone buzzed, Sid was calling him. At first Raushan ignored the call, but again his phone buzzed up. Atlast he picked it up.

Phone convo.

Raushan: haan bol Sid.

Sid(worried): Kaha hai tu?

Raushan: Naina k hostel me, uske sath kuch baat karni thi...

Sid: tu jaldi se Hard Rock Pub k paas chale aa.

Raushan: Dekh yaar celebration ki koi baat abhi tak nahi hui.. (he couldn't complete his line)

Sid: shut up Raushan.. yaha Arjun ki car hai, vo kahipe bhi nahi hai. Steering pe khoon hai

Raushan(shouted): what?? Kya bol raha hai tu? Arjun ki car me khoon?

Sid: tu jaldi aaja yaar

Raushan cut the call and turned to Naina, "khush ho aab?? Kisiki bahon me hai Arjun?? Shayad maut ki god me hai, Celebration time for u.."

Naina lose her balance and stepped back. Raushan was about to leave. Naina(shouted): stop Rausahn.. Mujhe bhi jana hai..

Raushan(stoped for a second): jaldi baitho bike pe.

They reached to the accident spot, the Trio was already there. Sid ran towards him.

Raushan: kuch pata chala Arjun k bade me?

Sid: Rahul abhi abhi pub se lauta hai, vo sham ko vaha gaya tha.

Sahil: phone pe bhi try kar chuka hu bohot bar, he is not answering our calls.

Rahul came towards Naina, "ye ladki yaha kyun aayi hai? Iski vajahse aaj ye sab kuch ho raha hai. Khush ho tum??"

Raushan: Abhi nahi bhai, Arjun humara 1^st priority hai, pahele use dhundhte hai, baad me kuch aur.

Naina: Am sorry guys, mujhe koi idea nahi tha.. main Arjun ko khona nahi chahti.

Sid: shut up.. just shut ur mouth. Khona nahi chahti, vo pyar karta hai tumse aur tum pure cllg k samne use Na kaheke aayi ho.

Naina (screamed and broke into tears; and kneeled down on road): I want him back.. main aur kuch nahi janti

Raushan: Chup ho jao Naina... Hum sab use dhundh lenge, don't worry. Uske baad ki zimmedari tumhari. Kaise tum use sambhaloge, vo tum jano. Aab utho.. dhundhte hai use..

Naina stood up.. Sid came to her, "kuch karne ki zarurat nahi hai tumhe. Dur rahena chahti thi na tum, dur hi raho."

Sahil: Car me baith.. pahele City hospital chalet hai

Naina: guys please ek bar pahele Arjun ka ghar hoke chalet hai.

Rahul: ghar pe?

Naina: Please guys, mera intuition kahe raha hai, uska ghar to zyada dur nahi hai, ekbar jake dekh hi lete hai.

They all agreed with her, and started to his house. They reached there in 10mins, the door was opened and light came out. They looked at each other; Naina ran inside. Sahil-Sid-Rahul n Raushan entered after her. They searched all rooms, atlast Naina discovered Arjun at the bar corner. She just peeped in and felt glasses were shattered here n there. She shouted by others name. All were stopped by seeing the condition. Arjun was drinking continuously from bottle, and may b crushed after making them empty. He was leaned back on a couch. Raushan at first came to him, and held the bottle to stop him. But Arjun was in his sense, "bottle chhod.. don't try to stop me."

Raushan: kyun kar raha hai aisa? Khudko kyun hurt kar raha hai?

Sid: dekh bhai..

Arjun(tried to look at him): tu yaha?? Kafi dinon baad. Come on.. join with me..

Raushan(suddenly looked at his palm): Ye kya hua tujhe?? Haath pe aisa ghao kaise? Abhi tak khoon nikal raha hai.

Arjun(tried to smile): kuch boond khoon nikla hai, zinda hu yaar.. mar thodi na jaungi (he didn't stop drinking)

Raushan: shut up yaar.. aisi baatein mat kar

Sid: bohot pi chukka hai tu, aur nahi.. please

Arjun(laughed at him): Sid, tu thik hai na? aaj tu mujhe pine k liye mana kar raha hai? Kya baat hai? But sorry yaar aaj main rukne vala nahi hu

Naina came to him and held his hand strongly. Arjun: aab kaun hai??

Naina: Main..

He tried to sit up steadily but he failed. Sahil helped him to do that. Arjun(in a surprise voice):Aree miss Naina. Aap kab aayi?? Aree koi inhe baithne k liye bolo

Naina: stop it Arjun.. stop drinking

Arjun: kyun madam, aapko isse bhi koi problem hai?

Naina: haan hai.. stop doing this

In that time Raushan indicated Sid-Rahul-Sahil to leave the couple alone.

Naina sat down on the floor, in front of Arjun.

Arjun: haath chhodo

Naina: nahi..

Arjun: kaha na haath chhodo..

Naina: nahi chodungi, stop drinking Arjun..

Arjun dashed the bottle on the floor, "problem kya hai yaar tumhara? Jab kabhi maan chahta hai chali aati ho, jab maan karega chali jaogi."

Naina(held his shoulders): nahi jaungi.. kabhi nahi jaungi

Arjun(laughed at her): kal bhi kaha tha tumne.. ek raat me sab badal gaya..

Naina: mujhe maaf kar do Arjun,please. Ek last chance do mujhe

Arjun: Maine bhi manga tha tumse ek ankhri mauka.. aur mujhe kya mila?

Naina: please Arjun.. I wanna believe u.. bas ek bar.. (she suddenly looked at the wound)(in shocked voice) itna bada ghao.. kaise hua ye sab?

Arjun: dard ho raha hai? Bura lag raha hai? Tumhe to bas bahar ka chot dikhai diya.. aur jo chot dil pe lagi hai, uska kya??

Arjun tried to stand up to bring another bottle, but he was tottering on his feet. Naina held him.

Arjun: main thik hu. Mujhe kisike sahare ki zarurat nahi hai

Naina hugged him tightly, "but mujhe tumhare sahare ki zarurat hai. I cant leave u.."

Arjun: drama mat karo

Naina hugged him more tightly, "kya karna hoga mujhe? Bolo, jot um chahte ho vo main karne k liye taiyar hu. Ekbar bolke to dekho. Mar bhi sakti hu tumhare liye."

Arjun loosened her arms and suddenly slapped her hard. His friends were standing just outside, they were shocked. But Naina didn't react.

Arjun: Ye sab baatein mazak lagta hai tumhe? Baar baar marne ki baat karti ho. pata hai tumhari har ek aisi baat se jaan meri jaati hai. Why don't u understand this yaar?...

He hugged her tightly.. They both were crying badly..

Naina: Am sorry Arjun.. tumhe believe na karne ki saza mujhe iss tarahse milegi maine kabhi socha nahi tha... am sorry.. please maaf kar do mujhe

Arjun: ro mat please... jo bit chukka hai, vo sach me mera past hai, don't mess it up with my present. Mera present tum ho, sirf tum

They were standing hugged each other. After few moments

Naina: Atlast tumne mujhe ek thappad mar hi diya. Puri zindegi issi baat ki pachtava raheti mujhe, main hi har baar tumhe maarti rahi..

They got departed. Naina: aab andar chalo. Haath ki dressing karna zaruri hai.

Arjun: please baad me..

Naina: nahi abhi...

Arjun: Mujhe chhodke kabhi jaoge to nahi na? trust me for once Naina.. please... if u wanna leave me, jaane se pahele mujhe mar dena.. tumhe chhodke to vaise bhi jee nahi... (he couldn't complete his sentence)Naina locked his lips by a deep kiss.. after some while, when they detached, they heard clap sound. Sid-Rahul-Sahil n Raushan were clapping..

They came towards them; Raushan: Thank god.. aant bhala to sab bhala.. aur koi doubt nahi hai na? miss Naina hai to abhi clear kar dijiye

Naina's face was turning red. She just nodded her head in "no"

Sid-rahul-Sahil all said Sorry to Arjun and Raushan and did a group hug...

Naina was so happy to see that they became friends like before. They lead him to his bed room and helped him to change his dress. Naina apply medicine on his wounded palm. After that, they four said bye to the couple and left them alone. Naina was busy to take care of Arjun, she was sitting beside his bed. "so jao aab... bohot kuch sahe liya ek hi din me.." she kissed on his forehead and caressed his hair.

And atlast Arjun fall asleep on her lap.
