Chapter 18
Riya head felt as if someone had hit a hammer upon it. clutching her head, she tried to open her eyes. Slowly her eyes open, revealing the darkness. She gets up all of a sudden and her head spins. She wavers when she felt two arms catch her by her shoulders. The sudden touch did'nt scare, it made her safe. Opening her eyes adjusting it to darkness she sees arjun looking at her with a stone expression on his face. she leans into him placing her head on his shoulders as his arms went around her. she remembers what happened and only one question came into her mind :why did nupur do this? was she under any duress?.
She looks at arjun and before she could voice her question, arjun said "anjali is fine. Just a little light headed but fine." Nodding her head, although hating it she broke the circle of his arms around her and leaned on the headboard. Her voice hoarse, she asks "did you find anything about nupur?". Arjun glanced away from her and for the first time, a sinking feeling settled into the pit of her stomach. He said "no, we don't know anything about her. but we are searching."
Riya wanted to unpleasant feeling so she asks "how long was I out?".
Arj: about 10 hrs.
Ri: 10 hrs? oh god. we had to leave for Bhopal today right?
Arjun remained silent. The sinking feeling strengthened in her stomach. She said "arjun sir, what happened? Is anjali okay? Are you hiding something from me?"
Arjun took a deep breath and asked "riya..." and swallowing the lump in his throat he asked "what do you remember after you had the bacteria." Within seconds riya paled, her eyes stark black the expression of fear still there on her face. arjun's hand fisted in anger seeing this. but seeing her look around the room, her rapid breathing declined as she took deep breaths to calm herself down. She said "I was in coma for 4 months after which I woke up in a warehouse room. that's when I found out about... kalavati." Arjun took a deep breath and took the letter with her name on it. he gave it to riya. Riya looked at him puzzled and then opened the letter and started reading it. as she read, her expression became fearful, her eyes widened and tears started to come into her eyes. She looked at arjun and said "no, no arjun sir nupur is telling a lie. My brother can't be like this. he can't be." Arjun grabbed riya's shoulder and said " riya, why would nupur write this if it is not true?"
Ri: I DON'T KNOW. BUT I KNOW MY BROTHER. HE CANNOT BE SIKANDER.
Arj: HE KILLED MY WIFE RIYA. AND NUPUR KNEW ALL THE DETAILS. I SEARCHED HER DESK. SHE HAD HER BRACELET. ROSHNI'S BRACELET.
And arjun held out the bracelet he had given to roshni on her birthday. It was a bracelet with a pendant of a star and a ball. Riya took the bracelet and threw it out at the wall.
Ri: no, he can't be sikander. He can't be.
Arjun got up and then took a flashdrive from his pocket. He held out the flashdrive to riya and said "check the flash drive. It contains all the details, dates and the locations of his businesses. It also contains the details of every torture you underwent at the hands of kalavati. Now, if nupur knew where you were, why did'nt she come and rescue you? why did'nt she call the police and tell your location? Or call even us?. check the flashdrive riya. It's the truth."
He left the flash drive on the table and turned to go. he walked to the door, when he heard riya said "I don't care what proof is in this flashdrive. I know my brother. He is not a murderer. And I will prove that he is innocent."
Arjun turned to look at riya and said "this is your choice."
Riya nodded.
Arj: fine then listen to my choice. I am going to hunt down your brother like the coward he is. And when I find him, he will suffer for every bit of stabbing he gave to roshni. Warn your brother riya. Because now in his life, there is a storm coming whose name is arjun suryakanth rawte."
