Chapter-11
All settled down in their seats n were waiting for riya to show up.. Riya entered conference room with coffee n chai cups.. She couldn't look into arjun's eyes.. She somehow composed herself n concentrated on case.. She felt others gaze on her n after discussion about case n her detailing about victim, she turned towards them n raised an eyebrow at them giving what look.. She sees a glimpse of teasing look in their eyes n as per que she said in stern voice, 'avi kam kare baad mein jitna mann chahe khichai kar lena.. Now just focus on the case n no more discussion' n picked up her gun n kept in holster n made way to suv leaving other 5 gaping at her n choree stunned at her changed attitude.. While samjun had a smirk playing on their lips seeing others expression.. Then arjun clicked fingers in front of them bringing back to present n said, 'ab kya tum logo k jane ka muhurat nikalna padega..' to which they went to parking lot in hurry gaining a chuckle from their bosses n they gaped at samjun too but didn't voice out their query to avoid their anger.. On the other hand riya knew her besties n new friend will tease her so she had put a no-nonsense look n behaved professionally in front of them n walked away.. N when she came down she remembered what happened earlier n flushed thinking about it n mentally smacked herself for getting lost having audience.. She took back seat n leaned on window waiting for others.. When they came sam, chotu, ayesha went in one suv whereas arjun, sakshi n shree came towards her.. From the look on arjun's face she knew he was upset from the sitting arrangement but didn't say anything..
Sakshi took passenger seat next to arjun n shree sat next to her.. Sakshi kept on talking with them n they chatted but arjun was highly irritated with riya not by his side n glared at them n they stopped talking n kept looking out.. Ariya were stealing glances at each other.. They were assuring themselves that they r now together here forever no matter what.. They remembered all the rides they had sometimes alone or sometimes other tagged along.. Sometimes silent or sometimes riya talking or discussing cases or opinion.. All the memories flooded in n both had small smile on their face which was noticed by other 2.. Shree was amused to see riya quiet unlike her n lost in thought n the smile said it all.. Whereas sakshi wondered how easy it was for riya to bring a smile even if it was slight on the face of akdu which was impossible for others.. Since the day she had entered etf she had seen him drown in pain n grief which he covered with the mask of indifference.. She had made an attempt to penetrate through the wall but failed.. Her presence never brought peace in him.. His restlessness reached her heart.. She wanted to be the one whom he can relay on.. But he never acknowledged her more than a liability to them.. But since riya came back she had seen him coming out of shell.. She had watched their silent comforting, silent understanding, silent exchange of words, respect for one another n most importantly all reflecting their love n care for one another which she knew she couldn't create between her n arjun.. N it hurt but she can't be selfish for herself to separate them.. She couldn't do anything other than mourn over her fail on her first love.. But she wil move on.. The car came to halt breaking her reverie indicating they reached.. After talking to victim family they felt something amiss.. When they reached office, they pondered over everything n they heard same phrase from duo 'kuch toh chut raha hai sam/sir' simultaneously n pin drop silence n saw the speaker with jaw dropped at the same timing n thought whereas duo looked up at each other sharing an eye lock n rest was forgotten..
