Hey there lovely People! I am back with an Update. There is a new development in this one at the end. You might be a little familiar with the character if you are TVD fan. I am just spicing it up a little bit.
CHAPTER 5
"I am sorry."
For a minute it looked like the words had fell on deaf ears as Riya stood immobile for quite a while with a blank face and then Arjun snapped her fingers in front of her eyes.
"Kahan Kho gayi?" He asked expecting her go all bizarre because he had said sorry. This had happened once with Shree already as he had apologized for shouting at him concerning a case. He was stressed then and had taken out all his anger on Shree. But then realizing his mistake he had said sorry and Shree overacted. He hadn't known what to say to that so he just walked off shaking his head.
But he couldn't do that now. This was a different scenario altogether. He was waiting for her to do the same as Shree did just because he had said sorry for something.
Riya snapped out of her shocked state and looked at Arjun's eager face. Arjun Suryakant Rawte had said sorry! It was a hard pill to swallow but she couldn't help being a little surprised. He wasn't a bad man. It's just losing a loved one had hardened him from both the inside and the outside. But she could still see the real Arjun in those penetrating eyes.
Arjun was still eagerly waiting for her response. She was gazing at him with a bizarre expression. It was hard to read. Just when he was about to say something he noticed her smiling at him. He could say that he was a little shocked at her response as he had half expected her to go all Drama Queen on him.
"It's okay sir, Galti meri thi. I shouldn't have been nosy." Riya replied in a calm tone still smiling. What is it with this girl? She never fails to surprise me. One time she could be really childish and the other the most mature person alive on this earth. Looked like there was more to Riya than what met the eye.
"I---I---have to go." Arjun said. He didn't know what else to say to her so he had decided to leave. He turned around abruptly heading towards his SUV.
Riya stared at his retreating back until he was out of sight. Arjun Suryakant Rawte ko koyi nahi samajh payega. She thought to herself. As she headed to the ETF headquarters she kept replaying the moment he had said sorry. She didn't even realize that she had reached her destination until the watchman spoke to her.
"Memsaab! Aap agayin? Aapko Shree baba dhoondh rahe the."
"Oh acha! Thank you watchman uncle." I replied back with a smile. Watchman uncle was seriously very sweet. He would always greet her in the mornings with a warm smile and she couldn't help but do the same.
Riya entered the conference room, scanning the premises for Shree. But he wasn't here either. Ayesha noticed her looking for someone and approached her.
"Riya...kisi ko dhoondh rahi ho?" Ayesha asked her.
"Haan woh Watchman Uncle ne bataya ki Shree mujhe dhoond raha tha. Kahan hai woh?" I asked eager to know what he wanted me for.
"Oh he is in near the coffee machine. I think it's his 5th cup already," Ayesha said giggling.
Both of them giggled for a bit and then Riya headed for the coffee machine. There she found Shree looking stressed and sipping his fifth cup of coffee in a daze. Riya went towards him and kept her hand on his shoulder.
"Sree devi...Kiss sonch mein hoon, Aur ye chehre par bara kyun baje hai?
"Thank God Ri! Tu agayi...Kyan bataon yaar. Jabse uske aane ki khabar mili hai tabse I am hyperventilating." Shree said with a troubled expression.
"Ye tu kiske ane ki baat kar raha hai?" Riya asked confused with Shree's behaviour.
"Aree the Bloody Kamina. Daemon!" Shree exclaimed.
"What?!" Riya yelled. She yelled a bit too loudly as she had gained the janitors attention who was passing by. He looked at her with a confused expression and she just smiled awkwardly at him. He shook his head and went away.
As soon as the janitor left Riya started bombarding Shree with questions,"What? When? Where? How? Why? How do you know he is coming here?"
"Jesus! Take a breath woman. And commissioner sir ka phone aya tha informing us all about a new recruit to our team for the next case we'll be taking up. When he said Daemon's name I was shocked to the core. And I kinda overeacted but yeah...the situation right now is...not good." Shree said looking at Riya with his usual this-calls-for-trouble expression.
There was a horrified expression on Riya's face. Daemon. Just that word sounded like chaos in the midst of a normal life. He was a totally snazzy personality. With his sarcastic comments and the "I am cool" attitude made him stand from the others. He liked to boss people around sometimes just for the fun of it. It was amazing that he has chosen a field like this considering his personality but then again he liked mentally torching his captives and anyone related to the case. Sometimes it even poured the truth out of them but most of the times it left them scared to death! And Last but not least he was a totally flirt. That was another problem considering the female population of ETF. You would be betrayed by his looks, which made girls fall to his knees. But the people who actually knew him knew that door rahne mein hi bhalai hai. But he wouldn't leave you alone even if you tried. So one way or another you are in his books. Looks like a new adventure awaited the ETF with the recruitment of the charming yet devilish Deamon.
