Chapter 7a

The ETF team rushed to the hospital. Arjun opened the door and saw that karan was sleeping soundly. Sameer breathed a sign of relief beside him.

Sa: chotu, go and ask the receptionist whether she saw anyone entering this room. shree check the cctv footage. Aisha go and check with the doctor how he is doing?

Everyone dispersed off to do their tasks. Arjun observed karan carefully. He looked in a bad shape with a bloodied lip and a blue eye. His left hand and right leg was in plaster. But inspite of that arjun could not see the resemblance between roshni and karan. But he knew that sameer would never tell a lie also. He did'nt know what to do so he observed the room to divert his mind. On the table beside karan was a bunch of red and white roses. Arjun remembered how roshni liked the red and white roses together. He noticed a note in the roses. Arjun took the note and read it. suddenly a phone rang. Sameer saw the phone was on the couch and picked the call.

Sa: hello

So: acp rathore. Is'nt it?

Sameer put the phone on loudspeaker so that arjun could hear also.

Sa: yes

So: well acp, I have to admit you are really an intelligent person. otherwise how would you be able to put the best team in Mumbai city.

Sameer kept silent.

So: that is a compliment. And I have heard and seen that you are a true gentleman also.

Sa: seen?

So: oh come on acp from what I have talked you have only heard the word seen? But never mind I don't blame you. you are a police officer and it is your duty to analyze a criminal's every word. but I must admit you are a not a really romantic person. but you are romantic enough to make aisha fall for you.

Sameer's temper was just on the edge of blowing. Arjun placed his hand on sameer's shoulder to restrain him.

So: and from the way arjun had placed his hand on your shoulder it seems that you are on the verge of blowing your infamous temper. And don't bother to look for the camera because I placed the camera in the flowers.

Arjun took the wireless camera from the flowers and passed it on to sameer.

So: my, my acp I must admit you both are very handsome. No wonder girls are always drooling over you.

Ar: what are you playing at sonia?

So: meaning?

Sa: meaning you placing the camera, talking to us and complimenting. What are you playing at?

So: and you think that I am going to tell you what I want right now?

Ar: since you are speaking to us direct and telling us with bluntness I thought why not ask you a blunt question.

So: but that was not your blunt question. What is your question?

Ar: what is your connection to sikander?

Sameer looked at arjun shocked.

So: I am the sister of sikander. And arjun I am a ghost.

She laughed which irritated arjun and sameer.

So: you know I would love to continue to talk to you but my work here is done. So acp I am not going to say goodbye because it is not the time to say goodbye. I would suggest to keep the phone but you all would have tapped the phone the next time I called and don't bother telling to your specky to trace the phone because it is not going to work. So, till next time.

Chapter 7b

A boy looked at his mother's photo and said " mama, it has been one year. When are you going to come back? We are waiting for you"

Voice: Aryan, come breakfast is ready.

Aryan kept his mother's photo and wiped his tears. He rushed down to join everyone at the breakfast table. His maasi smiled at him foundly as Aryan was the sweetest boy everyone knows.

Arya: payal maasi, what is made today?

The 2 girls glanced at each other and understood that Aryan was upset. One girl dressed in tomboyish clothes kicked Aryan under the table. Aryan glared at her while she grinned. Looking at Aryan and anoushka no one could tell that they were born just few minutes apart. That few minutes made a huge difference in their character. While Aryan was sweet and had the ability to handle a situation, anoushka always acted first and thought later. But both of them had many common traits. When they were angry, it was like putting a red flag in front of a bull. Both were shrewd and always made sure that they noticed the minutest details. Both were partners in crime. But the most important thing was that they loved their mother fiercely and waited for her to return to them.

Ananya stared at their silent bickering. Although she was'nt related to them by blood but they considered her elder sister seriously and would fly off the handle if she made the insecurity of not being their blood relation shown. She was a mediatator between the two of them and missed her mother as much as them. She hoped that she would return soon and all problems would be solved as she saw her mother stressed for the past one year.

Anjali: it is halwa puri

Anjali saw how anoushka and Aryan were again silently bickering. She loved children and could'nt understand how these children had such an awful mother.

All three of them said " yum maasi"

The three of them had breakfast and went to finish their projects. It was their diwali vacations and they had come to Mumbai to celebrate it.

Seeing Aryan glum ananya said " missing mama?"

Aryan nodded his head.

Anou: then let's find her.

Ary: are you nuts? Mama told us that she will come back.

Ano: Aryan it has been one year since it had happened? Don't we have to start now to know where mama is? Maybe she is in some kind of trouble.

Ary: anoushka, come to your senses. This is mama we are talking about. She knows how to handle herself well in a situation.

Anou: Aryan, mama went missing for 2 years. and when she came back she was different. then she apologises to us and tells us that she will have to go again. And now it is one year. Don't you think it is time to find her and save her if she is in any trouble?

Aryan kept silent as he knew that his sister was right.

Anan: I agree with anoushka. It is time that we find maasi.

Ary: I think I know who can find her.

Ananya and anoushka looked at him puzzled.

Ary took the newspaper and showed the photo. Ananya and anoushka looked at him shocked.

Anan: but...

Anou: Aryan is right, only he can find mama. And Anaya don't worry like we did'nt let mama know same also we won't let arjun rawte know that we are his children.

hey guys, a very happy diwali to all of you and finally here is the update you all wanted to read. but I am going to go out of town for 8-10 days so the next update will be after I come back. and I have a request to all of you. I would like to know about how to improve my writing these stories so I am open to both suggestions and criticism. I have posted the updates but I will pm later. so here are the double updates.

Chapter 8b

To say everyone was shocked was an understatement. Seeing sonia made them remember all about that special someone. But as it progressed everyone was starting to have confusion of feelings. Sameer was at first confused but as the game progressed he was able to comphrehend that this person was completely different from riya. This also made him angry but he reined in his temper knowing that it would not help with the situation. When sonia uttered the last sentence he was momentarily stupefied and glanced from where he was in the mirror. He saw sonia staring at him and smile that would have looked mischievious on her face but on this face reveals that she is more complicated than she appears. She glanced briefly at aisha whose face gave nothing away and walked away. Sameer saw arjun pick up the piece and pocket it. he knew that arjun needed that piece to remind him that this person might be the most dangerous opponent etf has faced. Arjun glanced at him and both understood each other's thoughts. Sameer gestured to aisha and all 3 of them left the restaurant.

Shree and chotu were staggered when they saw who it was. Even though they were in office but arjun's camera was wireless and thus the feed came directly to the office. They could'nt help but think that sonia is riya. But as it progressed they realized that she was not their riya. She could never be. But inspite of that they could'nt understand that how 2 persons with the same face crossed them? Shree and chotu were impressed that their arjun sir did'nt lose his cool because they knew that it was just as difficult for him to remember her as it was for them maybe a thousand times more. By the end of arjun's and sonia's interaction they were sure that this person was'nt riya. She could never be.

Chotu inspite of realizing that wanted some alone time to figure things out. making the excuse of a coffee he went but not before understanding that this excuse was seen through by shree, sakshi and liza. Chotu was going to make coffee when neha came and told that some children had come to meet arjun sir. chotu went and saw 2 girls and 1 boy at the waiting room. One girl was dressed in a frock while the other girl looked tomboyish. The boy looked at him and chotu could'nt help but feel that he had seen those eyes somewhere.

Cho: hi, my name is chotu.

Anou: but u look pehelwan? So why are u called chotu?

Cho: actually that is my nickname.

Ana: can u bend on one knee please?

Chotu bended on one knee. Anoushka put her hand and kept it on chotu's head.

Anou: now u are called chotu.

Chotu laughed. By that time shree, liza and sakshi had come to see what is the matter.

Sak: hi, my name is sakshi. U all came to see arjun?

Ary: yeah, we would like to meet him? Where is he?

Aryan had directed the question to chotu but sakshi answered.

Sak: he has gone on a case. Why don't u tell us why u came?

Anou: I think Aryan had directed this question to chotu so are u chotu's mouthpiece that u have to answer that question?

Anan: anoushka, we should not talk like this.

Sakshi was stumped to see someone speak like this to her. Aryan immediately took control of the situation.

Ary: actually we would like to speak with arjun rawte only if u don't mind.

Anou: Aryan, I think we should tell them also. Maybe they can help us?

Aryan looked doubtful but seeing anoushka and Ananya nod their head, he asked " can u help us find our mama?"

Shr: she is missing?

Ary: not exactly. She told us that she will come back but it has been 1 year and there is no news about her.

Sak: what about your father?

Aryan looked at sakshi irritated.

Ary: we don't know about our father.

Liz: then whom are u staying with?

Anou: mama, left us with one of our friends and told that she will come back after all problems are solved. This was 3 years ago. When she came back after 2 years she was different but the same. But she told that the problems are'nt solved and she had to leave. Now it is 1 year and we have no news about her.

Shree, liza, chotu and sakshi looked at each other thinking that maybe their mother had left them.

Anan: I know what u are thinking but maasi is'nt like that. she loves all of us and would break all limits just to make sure that we are safe.

Cho: have u got any photo of your mother?

Aryan took the photo and gave it to chotu. Chotu froze seeing the photo.

Sak: what was your mother's name?

Ary: not was, is her name.

When Aryan said the name the door opened and everyone turned around to look at arjun, sameer and aisha standing shocked with shockness expressed in their own faces.
