Chapter-6
Her phone rang, making her come out of her trance. She, absent-minded, picked up her phone and cursed her luck.
She calmly listened to the caller and ended the call uttering a goodbye.
"Come on Ri, jo beet gaya who beet gaya. Usse yaad karke koi fayda nehi hai." She told herself. "I can't fall weak. I have a mission to accomplish and mujhe koi nehi rok sakta' woh bhi nehi."

She was passing by one of the alleys; when suddenly a hand grabbed her around her mouth.
She tried to scream but no sound came out. She realized that even if she could scream, no one was there to hear her. The person had one hand around her mouth and the other around her waist lifting her body off the ground. She started to kick her feet but nothing happened. She tried to get loose from the hands and she almost did, but she only fell to the ground.
And she was dragged along the concrete to the back of the alley, leaving bruises on her body.
She was screaming silently. Screams that came from the inside, ones that no one could hear. She lay on the cold concrete trying to comprehend what was happening. At this point the man was on top of her. She tried pushing him off but he was too heavy for her. Her hands were free so she started punching him in the chest but nothing happened. She remembered getting one good punch at the man but he hit her right back, Hard. So hard it felt like it went through her whole body.
She could feel her lips bleeding. He hit her again and started cursing at her.
"That will teach you to hit me, b***h", he growled. He spat the words at her, speaking like he was proclaiming this fact to a room full of people.
Then he tied her hands & eyes. More people helped him doing that & then left them alone. He ripped her open and she could feel his cold hands going across her skin.
She wanted to cry so badly but no tears would form in her eyes. All she could pray was for him to show up.
"Arjun." Her heart cried out.
Riya woke up startled and found herself in ETF headquarters. She might have fallen asleep reading some old files in her cabin. She couldn't sleep well last night and was glad when Rathore said there wasn't any case.
She was sweating profusely and felt her palpitation going high. She rubbed the sweat off, turning the AC off and looked for something to cover herself up. She felt really cold and was shivering. Whenever she panicked and her palpitation rose, she'd feel really cold and doctors said it'd be really fatal for her. She rubbed her palms together but nothing seemed to work.
All these didn't go unnoticed by a pair of eyes. [Fortunately😉], his cabin was right next to her and diverted by a glass partition. Much to their discomfort. Looks like, Rathore plotted against this two and placed them together. When in reality, Rathore intentionally did place them together.
When he walked into his office and looked at her room, he found her sleeping peacefully, resting her head sideways on the table. Arjun stood near the glass partition and looked at the serene scene in front of him. It's been ages he had seen her sleeping. "She looks like a baby when she sleeps" he would always tell her and she would retort back.
Abhi mujh mein kahin
Baaki thodi si hai zindagi
Jagi dhadkan nayi
Then he saw her trembling and shivering. She was having a nightmare, he realized and he knew what it was about. That fateful night still haunted her.
*flashback*
Arjun was looking for her everywhere. They were in a college party and Riya had left the party after having a verbal fight with one of the retards who were unfortunately invited.
Roshni kept Arjun busy, chit chatting with her friends. But yes, he did witnessed what went with Riya of course. He saw her leaving and Dev, the guy and his accomplices leave after her. Arjun had a bad feeling about it and ran after them, leaving Roshni, goaded.
Then he found them. And what he saw, raged him. He ran over to dev and grasped his hand & punched him in the face. He was going to kill him but Riyas' muffled cry stopped him. He turned to Riya and taking the chance, dev fled.
"Arjun" Riya cried out, feeling his presence. Arjun kneeled beside her, and opened her eyes. She looked at him with teary eyes and it pierced his heart. She was sobbing as he picked her up and ran to his car. "It's ok. It's ok. I won't let him hurt you." He soothed, gently placing his coat on her body. He put her in the passenger seat and pulled on her seatbelt.
Then he locked and shut the car door, walking to the driver's seat and climbing in. Slowly he drove away, to her house. When he got there, he stepped out and opened her door. "You ok?" he asked her.
"Yeyyeah' I thinnk so" she trembled in his arms as he carried her to the door. He unlocked the door and walked inside. Once he was in her bedroom, he softly placed her on her bed and walked out, shutting the door.

He was furious & shattered seeing his Riya in this state. He cursed himself. He would have killed dev right there. But Riya's sobbing stopped him. When he turned dev had already left.
Arjun sat on the couch and kept thinking about those incidents. "Mujhe usee chorna nehi chahi ye tha", he roared, gripped his fist. He was about to bang his hand on the glass table when noticed blood stains that were on his palm already.
His heart sank. What does it mean? I had stopped him at the right moment but then this blood? Arjun gasped.
"I need to check on Riya!" Arjun said to himself breathlessly.

Riya buried her head on the pillows & screamed out loud.
She felt hopeless. How can this happen with me? Kyu? meri saath hi humesha aisa kyu? She sobbed. She then sat up, remembering all that had happened with her. Tears were flowing from her eyes.
And then there was Arjun, she looked at his coat & closed all the buttons, hugging herself. She felt'.. Protected.
Arjun knocked the door. Getting no reply, he slightly opened the door worried sick.
Arjun looked at him with teary eyes as Arjun went upto her with 1st aid box.
He sat beside her, keeping a distance from her not to scare her.
Riya lowered her eyes, looked at the other side of the bed.
They were silent for a long time. Arjun kept staring at her. The more he saw her in this state, the more he got angry.
"Riya", Arjun spoke at last. She looked at him.
"woh...tumhe..woh usne..actually.." 'he stammered, looking at other direction. She saw blood stains in his hands & understood what he wanted to ask.
She simply nodded her head as a no. Arjun closed his eyes in relief. And then turned her in his sight & checked for any serious injury.
He saw her lips bleeding. Those rosy lips that should only be kissed were bleeding. His rage got increased. He cleaned her wound gently.
Riya was looking at him. Is this man for real? They were not in talking terms for last three months. Busy with studies, work, and something was off between this two. When asked, he declined to tell her anything. And she stayed away, thinking he doesn't care anymore. And of course, there was Roshni too.
She trembled when he cleaned her wounds, hissing softly as the pain kicked in. Arjun came close to her & blew air on her lips.
Riya closed her eyes. She felt she was regaining her lost identity. His care, his touches were making her feel alive again.
He stared at those lovely doe shaped eyes then moved to her neck that was terribly wounded. He closed his eyes in disgust. How can a man do this to a girl? He gnashed his teeth. He cleaned her neck gently blowing.
Her head was resting on his shoulder. She buried her head on his neck, putting her hands around his waist.
He slowly cleaned all her wound, applied medicine. Then parted Riya from him and found her sleeping peacefully. He adorned her for a few moments. Then he rested her head on his shoulder again.
He saw her legs bleeding. He realized how Dev was dragging her. He slowly kept her head on the pillow & sat on the floor, beside her legs.
He saw her thighs were bleeding. He hesitated for a minute, looking at Riya. He started to clean but Riya woke up with a jerk. She screamed.
"No"
Arjun moved to her & held her to calm her.
"hey!hey..its ok! dekho..main hu..Dungu" he said ever so gently, cupping her face.
Riya opened her eyes & saw him. Sobbing loudly, she hugged him. She buried her head in his chest & cried. Arjun wrapped his arms around her & held her tightly as if promising her that he will never let any harm fall in her'..ever again.
At last, she stopped and hiccoughed.
Arjun asked her if she needed water. She nodded. Arjun brought a glass of water & gave it to her.He then asked her to sleep, tucking her under the blanket. Riya closed her eyes.
As Arjun was about to leave, Riya held his hand.
"Thanks Arjun. For everything", She said.
Arjun turned & looked at her hand holding his hand.
"Please, don't thank me." He looked other side.
Riya could not help but stare at him. She could see the care in his eyes. Don't know why she felt secure & happy seeing his concern for her again. As if she had got everything'..back.
Riya tightened her grip but didn't say anything. She was welcoming this new feeling that she was feeling after seeing Arjun again. She missed him.
She had fallen asleep after sometime. He just stared at her lovingly. He fumed how anybody could even dare to touch her.
He came forward and left a kiss on her forehead.
He left, closing the door.
*flashback ends*
Arjun saw her looking for something frantically and realized she might be having a panic attack. He almost ran out but then stopped, "Would she even let him help her?"
He called Shree and asked for Kapil murder case files which were in Riya's office. Shree walked in to Riya's cabin to see her on the floor. Shree ran up to her and found her almost frozen.
"Riya" Shree screamed, worried. Everyone came running to her cabin, hearing shree.
Arjun couldn't stand anymore and rushed in to her cabin and dashed up to her. Chotu and Neha were rubbing her feet and Rathore and Shree her hands. Shree made her wear his jacket and Arjun covered her with his coat. "Shree jaldi uski bag mein dekho koi dawai hogi!" Arjun instructed while trying to get her conscious.
"Neha, get a glass of hot water or something! Fast." Rathore said, getting worried.
Jaana zinda hoon main toh abhi

Riya was conscious, much to everyones' relief. She opened her eyes and found two pairs of worried eyes, hovering upon her. She realized they belonged to her two bosses. She sat slowly as her bosses supported her.
Shree gave the medicine and Rathore made her take it. Arjun was rubbing her hands. Her face was gaining its color back.
Neha gave her a glass of warm milk. She made a face seeing milk but one look from Arjun and one glare from Rathore and straight faces from the trio, she gulped down the milk slowly.
"How are you feeling now?" Rathore asked, concerned. "Better than ever." She smiled weakly. They rolled their eyes. "yaar tune toh dara hi diya tha." Shree sighed. But she just "awww"ed, gaining grins from Chotu and Neha. It has been only one day but they already mingled well together. Shree, chotu, Riya and Neha had already formed a group called "Awesome Four-some". While Rathore had found a younger sister in her. And Arjun, well, what can we say?
Riya tried standing up, Arjun instantly took her hands. She looked at him. They screamed concern. No, it must be pity, she reminded herself. She took her hands out of his clutch and took Rathore's hands instead, leaving Arjun divested.
"Riya, tum ghar jaake aram karo." Rathore ordered but then Riya insisted and stayed back, promising that she'll rest in her cabin.
Arjun left the room, giving a longing look on her way, noticed by the whole team.

Precap : "Riya, sirf 1 minute bacha hai.", Shree spoke, worried.
"Riya, get the hell outta there!" Arjun bellowed.
