I think it's one of those things he hasn't thought about, it just happened naturally. We know it's love. But they don't really need a realization of some sort until they are ready romantically. Also I will say this like a big fangirl. Love almost feels like a small word for them. The divine intervention in their relationship is really showing. And everything else feels little compared to that.
