RanVeer OS: Taking her care!
Veer in his sleep touched the other side of the bed and found it empty, instantly his mind got alerted as to where she went at this odd hour of the night.
He opened his eyes and sat up with a jerk only to hear some faint sobs.
He then turned on the side lamp and found her sitting on the floor in the extreme corner of the room. Her face was hidden behind her as she continued to sob.
His heart sank seeing her like that. He had promised himself to give her every bit of happiness and here she was crying like that in the middle of the night.
Shaking his inner scoldings away, he approached her as discarding her problem was his priority right now.
"Rani, what happened? " He asked her as he sat down near her on the floor.
"Doctor Sahab.. " She whispered out as she wiped her tears in haste and looked up to him.
"You should sleep! Actually i was not feeling sleepy! " She said with puffy red eyes and a tear stained face only if she knew how guilty he was feeling at the moment.
"Rani Do you think that seeing you like this, i will be able to sleep? No, so tell me why were you crying?" He tried to wipe some tear stains off her face when she backed away making his guilt stronger.
"Nothing Doctor Sahab! Something just went into my eyes that's why.. " She tried lying but he cut off her words in between.
"And you think this trick will work on me! Tell me now Rani! Did i do something wrong? I am sorry for hurting you Rani! " He apologized not knowing what else to do as asking her his mistake would dampen her mood.
"You did nothing Doctor Sahab! " She assured him with a smile.
"Then why were you angry when i came back and now you are crying so much?" He asked in a confused tone as to what emotional pills she had taken to behave like that.
She looked away in the reply. She couldn't just tell him like that, he might be her husband and her best friend but things like this, only she had to handle all alone and she shouldn't involve him to embarrass him or worse destroy his purity.
"Tell me what happened? " His question broke her thoughts and she looked at him to find him look at her in concern.
In the next moment, she was in his arms as he gently put her on bed.
"Doctor Sahab you shouldn't touch me! " She again told him. It irked him when she said that but she was sad at the moment and telling at her could worsen the situation.
"Why? Do you feel uncomfortable? " He aaked in a bit hurt tone as she had never denied his touch in the past.
"No but don't do that for this week, please! " She pleaded and then realization dawned upon him as he joined the dots.
Now everything made sense to him, her behavior earlier and now. She was going through that time of the month that's why she was having these mood swings. A week meant it was her first day certainly.
And here he was mentally stabbing himself for making her angry and cry.
'This girl will be the death of me someday! ' he thought and sat opposite to her on the bed.
"Is it that time of the month? " He gently asked to confirm his thought.
"Huh? " She asked back in confusion as to what he was saying while he gave her a chuckle in return thinking about how innocent she was.
"Are you on your periods? " He straighforwardly asked in the next second to clear her confusion.
Her breath hitched listening that.
"Uh.. " She looked away in utter embarrassment as this was what she feels about this particular time of the month. And when he asked that so straightforwardly, she couldn't help but look down in embarrassment.
"Look in my eyes Rani! " He dared her scooting closer to provide her his warmth, she instantly looked up and tried making some distance which he didn't let her do as he held her hands in his.
"There is no need to get embarrassed about this! It's a completely normal thing! You know if this doesn't occur on its due date then that can cause a lot of complications! " He stated trying to make her comfortable enough to discuss such a thing with him.
"How doctor sahab? " She slowly asked and like a pop up add, a smile popped up on his face as he heard her ask a question to him. She was back to her curious self now and he would happily answer everything.
"I don't know in detail but as much as i have studied, the early or late comings of period leads to more severe pain than usual, and if a girl doesn't get periods than that's also a big deal! It causes a lot of complications during pregnancy!" He explained
"But in Balliya." She tried saying about some orthodox way which she went went through in there but before she could he cut her words short by interrupting her as he knew if he would have heard, his blood would boil and he would get angry at the treatment she got in her native place.
"That's a small town Rani, they might not have a broad minded thinking but i do have, maybe because i am a surgeon and i have studied a lot on humans! " He explained her or more to his own self so that he doesn't get angry on the people of balliya.
"Oh" She said like a kid not knowing what to answer.
"Oh indeed! So you having periods is completely normal for you and you don't need to shed tears about that!" He said as he kissed the back of her hand.
"But doctor sahab you should stay away from me on these days as i am impure!" She said as he was doing anything but staying away.
" Rani your are anything but impure! " He said and ahain kissed the back of her hand to assure her that he wasn't going anywhere.
"Back in baliya, on these days i had to get myself locked in my room as i couldn't step out or i will make that place impure too. I.. " She said remembering what she had faced in balliya and the situation today was totally different as Veer was not at all ready to let her go away from him.
"Shhh! Stop now Rani! You are the most purest human being i have ever seen in my life! So selfless and beautiful! " He blurted out to which their eyes met for a second before he looked away to hide the red hue creeping up on his cheeks at the sudden confession.
"And a thing with which every girl goes through in her life doesn't make you impure! Purity comes from the heart as you always say so don't you dare say anything bad about yourself! " He said in serious tone to which she nodded her head slowly.
"Were you having any intolerable pain? " Veer asked as he noticed her shifting on bed uncomfortably.
She blushed in awkwardness as sharing this kind of feelings with a man and that too husband was foreign to her.
"Where is it paining? " He asked knowing fully well that she might need some time to adjust with this thing.
"In the lower body! " She slowly whispered.
"You lay down, i will just come up with something to ease your pain! " He said storming out of the room.
Minutes later he entered with a hot water bag and a bar of dark chocolate in his hands.
"This will be of some help! " He put the hot water bag near her abdomen and she felt a bit nice as it was somewhat helpful in easing the pain.
"Chocolates doctor sahab? " She asked as he gave her three small pieces of the dark chocolate to her.
"I have read somewhere that dark chocolates helps to lighten up mood and pain too! " He replied back sitting on his side of the bed.
"Okay! " She mumbled closing her eyes while eating the chocolate and letting the taste seep in her mouth when she felt warmth all over her.
'Water bag wasn't this big! Was it? ' she thought and instantly opened her eyes to find him closer to her, almost inches apart. It was like she could hear his hearbeats all thanks to the proximity.
"What are you doing doctor sahab? " She asked as she felt this weird feeling in the pit of her stomach.
"Don't worry! This will also help you only! So just keep your mouth shut and try to sleep! You need rest!" He stated slowly caressing her hair to make her sleep, little did he know that his heartbeats worked as a lullaby to her as she slept soundly in a few seconds.
He backed a bit to confirm if she had slept or not and upon finding her asleep he smiled, kissed her forehead and slept hugging her.
