Yes it's under desertion section for divorce under the Hindu marriage act and includes these words

"The Explanation to Section

13 (1) defines desertion as, ‘the expression ‘desertion’ means the desertion of the petitioner by

the other party to the marriage without reasonable cause and without the consent or against the

wish of such party and includes the willful neglect of the petitioner by the other party to the

marriage. When one spouse leaves the other in a manner which is not justifiable, the deserted

spouse has a remedy by way of matrimonial relief's. "

The conditions which are needed is, 1) it should be without permission of the spouse, i.e. Anuj didn't want her to go 2) neglect should be for more than 2 years. 3) Neglect was without reasonable cause (ex if Anuj was beating Anupama and she left it's not neglect)

So it's not about not attending one school function, it's about continuous neglect where Anupama spends 90% time at her exes house and neglects husband and child and other duties at home.

That is true,for Anuj he and his adopted daughter matters the most.He wasn't bothered to ask well being of Anu who also faced death .

U r forgetting that Anu was Ak 's legally wedded wife.who has got all rights to use her husband's money.so plz stop using such cheap remarks about her.

I am sure she hasn't claimed any alimony from Ak after the divorce.Even MaAn love story started when Ak was penniless.Char Anupamaa was never a gold digger.

On the seperation day Ak was going on pointing out Anu's flaws one by one after believing his adopted child's fake accusations who was smart enough to hide major things like what caused the accident.He sounded very much detached from Anu which persauded her to end the relationship.

Anuj is "accused" of infidelity because he went to Mumbai in search of his daughter and stayed at Maaya's (I believe it was clarified on the show that he stayed at his friend's place, anyway).

Aur isi line se anupama ko Ghar chodne ko majboor Kiya not because ki anuj ne bola ki ki tum choti ko priority nahi deti hai.

Actually he only persauded her to marry him. She was quite relactant for the second chance,He used to say that marrying Anu was his only dream.Now he only changed his words saying that it was a hasty decision.

About Neglect and Care!

Let's start with Choti Anu:

Wasn't Maaya making videos to substantiate her case everywhere Choti Anu aka Aadhya was? That should be good enough.

The lowest point was when Choti Anu was sent to a "Summer Camp" during the New Year fiasco, came down with a Fever and Anupama had to be reminded by Anuj to call and enquire. So much for care and love.

Anuj has, repeatedly asked her to prioritise and maintain healthy boundaries. Since the early days of their marriage where the cracks surfaced:

Imagine, here she says "Why would she defend him(Vanraj)?", "The man (Vanraj) reminds her of the horrible past".

She was the only one defending him during the infamous cliff drop
