@bold thats very obvious as its kdrama.

But EMA is not only same thing common betn 2 shows. All the characters are very much inspired from anupamaa.

They obviously changed many thing to make it more in taste of korean audience so there will be huge diff but basic theme of show "middle aged women getting out of toxic marriage, finding new love, restarting her career" & characters are taken very obviously from anupamaa.

Genre is also changed to comedy.

you are right somewhat. But In my opinion I would call it concept then characters themselves.

It was all about Shahs. Anupamaa got divorce on her own, but stayed with that same toxic family even though that toxic family repeatedly threw her out. Back then it was like Vanraj was staying with two wives so didn't even feel like she got out of toxic marriage at all. She was eventually thrown out if my memories are right.

But Vanraj is still her achhe pita, dost and what not. Her loving Anuj factor's "push and permission" also came from Bapuji😆. And let's not start on Career which is completely based on her own convenience and shah drama.

To compare the other lead - she been taking her own decisions. Have been calling her husband bast**d, hypocrite. Refusing to do household work - and main part is EMA still hasn't been revealed yet. Not all kdrama FL has backbone tbh. This FL has one.

I would like give them credit for how these two episodes has turned out by far.

This is something how I wished Anupamaa to have progressed.

PS: Anupamaa is remake itself, and no doubt initial concept was the best (only if they executed it right). So sure I am definitely happy that for once some other country is borrowing some creative intelligence from India. ( that too ITV)

Agreed. This is usual drama from what I have seen in the past 6 years. Moreover. this is not the first kdrama where a middle-aged woman is fighting for identity.

Did not watch the Korean show so no comments on that, but this might be true coz remember dr anupa treated mukku's clinical depression with her innovative takiya faar therapy and gave a lecture to good for nothing Dr gynaecologist.

All said and done, I’m surprised that Anupamaa show is worthy of adaptation in any form or shape! 🤪
