Why do I feel that makers are surreptitiously making a case against adoption/fostering through this track. Surely a lot of the TRP audience would be seeing this drama and not consider/discourage others...
That's exactly what's happening. They are claiming to show that you can form a genuine bond via adoption but actually the show is just showing that Indian adoption system is problematic because of so many rules, that no secrecy is maintained for the data of adoptive parents, and that you will be in a perpetual legal mess unless you are rich, or maybe even if you're rich.
They are also claiming to show acceptance for so-called unacceptable careers via Kavya's modelling but the tone and pattern of LeeRaj is being shown more of worry and less or jealousy in an attempt to whitewash them and any parent or set of inlaws will use this to discourage their daughters from going into show-business.
Any audience learns only what's convenient. It's not easy to support and rehabilitate r*p* victims or spend less on a wedding without worrying about the society, but it's very easy to get discouraged to let your women work or to plan adoption.
Everyone (both MaAn fans and haters) is saying that it would have been easier if MaAn had opted for a surrogate baby because they can afford it, they are still within age limit of 50 and Anupamaa qualifies as infertile now due to her ovary surgery. That would have made MAA atleast a little more attached to the baby as compared to what she is with CA when pitted against the AnuRaj kids trio, and Anuj would have had more ownership.
This is perfect butchering of a good message that the rich should lead by example and that adoption should be a preference and should not be just for those who cannot afford surrogacy.
