Vanraj was never able to discipline his children as well which is why 2/3 of the kids turned out to be like him. 😂 If people don't want motherhood glorified than the limelight has to come on fathers as well who play an equal part (or should) to how their children turn out.

Plus, Rakhi definitely wanted the best for Kinjal, but her going to the Shah house to add flame to the fire everytime never helped any situation. Even though I know the Shah household is a shit show and a circus lmao.

Even when she didn't know his motives regarding Pakhi and she was unhappy about it, she defended Adhik against Vanraj.

Again, this show glosses over Anupamaa (the average Indian underdog woman)'s flaws and flattens her entire character into motherhood. Motherhood is glorified in the show as if it's synonymous to womanhood. That is my problem. This post wasn't about whether only Anupamaa or only Vanraj is responsible for 2/3 kids turning out to be deplorable. It was about the writers breaking Rakhi's character to bolster the titular character in the most illogical way.

I mean, more than one powerful women characters can exist in a show.

Rakhi doesn't owe the Shahs pacification lmao. No well-wisher of Kinjal would have ever wanted her to stay in that house. Rakhi's priority has always been her child.

The two things I hate the most about motherhood as portrayed in ITV:

  1. the female lead loves each and every child born on earth🤣(remember Ishima😆)
  2. The female lead has to be shown more loving to others' kids; more than the kids' own mothers(remember Shagun Ma🤣)
  3. I know, I said two😆 female leads usually are not good mothers themselves but are hailed as the best mothers🤣 (remember Kamla Bai, I guess none of you watched that show, good for you🤣)

Yahi ho Raha hai yahan😆

No she doesn't owe them pacification, no one does. It's better not to even associate with people like the Shahs.

What I'm saying is that it's not the best lesson for your kids. She should have cut off relation with Kinjal once she saw that her own daughter doesn't give a crap about her. Just like Anupama's own mom should question Anupama why she gives more heed to Baa baa black sheep than even remember her.

Calling her and Samar losers. Now how are the kids going to respect their mother and learn from her if her husband never did. Sorry to say, but the only reason Samar is close to his mother is because he is an outcast in the family too-just like Anu. Samar spent more time with her and she instilled good morals to him. Vanraj is at fault here not Anupama.

Extremely well said. Plus Toshu and pakhi being his favourite , if anupama would have slapped them ,vanraj would have made her life hell.

Before divorce, Anupamaa was a homemaker. After divorce, she looks after Shah family, Kapadia family, Shah business (cafe track), Kapadia empire (Anuj coma/ paralysis track), own financial independence (dance classes, teaching maybe).

Writers have made it look like getting divorced is the worst possible decision because Anupamaa is trapped in 10x troubles after divorce than before with still no time for herself or her love Anuj. Very regressive show. I am sorry, sorri, sorri for thinking this was going to be a progressive ITV serial for a change.
