- what is the problem with a live-in relationship with respect to MaAn or in general ?

- if your kids want to stay with a boy, they are going to stay with a boy and there is nothing you can do

- maryada to serve what purpose? in terms of Anupamaa, what maryada does she need to maintain ? if its to protect her kids from doing the same, well they are adults. or is it to not encourage the rest of society to do the same and help stop the breakdown of the institution of marriage ?

MaAn were not living in a live-in relationship, I feel Anupama just gave Anuj a shelter as a friend for someone who lost their business and house. Trashraj made it like that by describing that "they are living in a live-in". Kind of hypocritical regarding his past... Live-in is now slowly being acceptable (not fully yet) because in Indian culture a woman and man cannot live together without a formal relationship, which is the reason marriage ceremony is done. There shouldn't be any problem with anyone living in a live-in but Indian society looks down upon this because if you live with someone in a live-in, you will most probably have sex and if you break up after some time, the woman will be considered as "used"...which is what they are taunting Anu for. That's what Anu is explaining to the family that they have maryada in between them, which is no sex until marriage unlike what Trashraj did. It is a piety that the same Indian society doesn't question the man but instead they blame the woman for not being good enough for a cheating man.

Institution of marriage is already breaking down with bollywood movies where the man and woman live like husband and wife without the ceremony and then they break up. TV shows also show what India is learning. Soon iTV will show cuss words just like how OTT content has.

At the same time she just to Irk EX and BAA which did annoy them, maintain eye contact and speaks for herself and declares clearly that MaAN does not require others permission to make MaAN decisions. BAA having large round wide-open eyes.

ANU stands firm for MaAN LOVE this time.

Hello Alison,

Welcome back! Missed tag select on your ID, due to inactive. Nice to hear from you. I am so happy you are back. Hope you are fine?

I am honored with your message and regard with great respect.

I have yet to watch today's (2/22/22) episode, as I had a very busy day @ work. I am in residency program, Second year of OB/GYN with specialty in anesthesia.

After I watch MaAN, I surely pen down my thoughts.

Take it easy!

kalpana19!

aww thanks for the concern. you are so sweet. 😊 i took a mini vacation, needed to get some things in order. was spending too much time on here! lol. i'm behind a couple of episodes. i literally just watched tues-fri episodes tonight... ill catch up on the rest tmrw evening...im pretty disappointed with anupamaa not telling him that she loved him. i know you are based on the the states, so im wondering if you can see the importance of those 3 little words or if you think how she expressed herself was just. i guess im wondering if age/culture has something to do with how she expressed herself. sounds you are a busy lady, i hope anupamaa and this forum brings you some stress relief to the amazing job you do! do you work shifts? tag me when you share any thoughts!!!

I was about to write some the same lines - some of us on the forum have lived outside the US for many years and seeing romance of Anu/Anuj is pretty common.

I have gay/lesbian couple friends, happily married couples, unhappily married ones, divorced/remarried/in relationship friends all gamut in between - live and let live - people can find love, be hurt in the relationship whatever it maybe, it's their choice - and we need to respect that and not judge (unlike Baa/Vanraj) so what I see on ITV just makes my blood boil sometimes - here I think society has changed or is changing, but only in maybe metros and uber progressive families - not mainstream yet - hopefully small changes that Anupama bring thru the show will help accelerate this thinking.

I feel this is the opportunity for makers to show current mindset but unfortunately every show mostly shells out regressive content and then argues it is current India. Agree, it is current India to a major extent, but if we don't show progress how will others catch up? No makers are ready to take the risk of doing the right thing and show progressive tracks..same old fighting arguing.

i believe in God, but im not sure what connection you are making.

not every show needs to be a life lesson on consequences of what happens when you make the wrong decisions.

unfortunately there are many situations in life where the "other" woman seemlessly transitions into the new role of the 2nd wife and doesnt maybe get the karma she deserves. are you suggesting that they should show 1+2= 3 and not 1+2 = 5 ?

Wow...I also believe in God, and because of that I belive that everyone has a freedom of choice to make.

Anu is already 40, she is mature enough to make her own decisions, and she is in no way answerable to her ex husband and in-laws on whom she should stay with and with whom she shouldn't.

So,please don't bring in faith in this, and try to spoil the mindset that people who have faith are narrow-minded as well...
