It had barely been a short while since she had confessed her feelings and to him she already felt like his own...Everything was the same yet a lot had changed between them, be it the way he looked at her or the way he held her hand. Her touch felt like never before, there was an unspoken intimacy that pulled them close, the overpowering sense of togetherness, the feeling of their hearts beating in tandem.
“kya hua? kya dekh rahein hai?” she asked breaking the devouring silence
“apne 26 saal ke pyaar ko sach hote hue dekh raha hoon” his eyes were asking her questions she wasn't prepared for.
“ab toh poori zindagi padi hai dekhne ke liye, chaliye neeche chalte hai...” she couldnt take his demanding gaze anymore.
Holding firm onto her hand, he resentfully walked down the stairs and said
“jaana zaruri hai? saari raat chatt par nahi reh sakte?
“kulfi ban jaati”
“aag jala lete”
“sabko pata lag jata”
“ke do log Valentines mana rahe the”
Much against their wishes they parted for the night with eyes and hearts burning with newfound desire, the kind they hadn't imagined before.
As he shut the door he rested his back to it and ran the whole confession in his mind again...with tears in the corner of his eyes, he was tempted to rush back to her and pull her in his arms. why hadn't he done that before? he wondered and thought it was the overwhelming feeling of acceptance that stalled his natural instincts. The euphoria was such that just having her by his side was enough to feel connected.
Changing into her night clothes she played his wholehearted laughter in her mind, how happy he was to be loved back as though he’d hit the jackpot...and she felt the happiest to be the reason for his happiness.
Engrossed in his engaging thoughts as she hit her head on the pillow she heard her phone beep, it was him, it had to be.
“Anu...so gayi thi?”
“ummm nahi, par sone jaa rahi thi, kyu?”

“what? sapne mein bhi, how boring Anuj! aur kya kar raha tha”
“kuch aisa khaas nahi, bas hum icecream kha rahe the sath mein”
“aur phir aap mere goad me sar rakh kar mujhe pyaar se dekh rahe the...”
“aur?”
“aur bas”
“matlab sapne mein bhi maine isse zyada nahi kiya?”
“haan aap bholuraam hai na”
“what? did you just call me bholuraam?”
“haan hain toh aap bholuraam, kuch samajhte hi nahi”
“accha toh abhi ajaaoo tumhare paas samajhne?”
“Baa kya kahegi?”
“Baa ko toh ab mai dekh hi loonga, unke saamne tumhe gale lagakar kahoonga ki tum ab meri ho, poori tarah se meri”
“accha? Baa ke saamne? pehle akele mein toh...”
And they spent the night flirting and weaving new dreams of a life together...
