I feel at times RS plan to have GK as Anuj backfire.. He might have got him thinking he won't be able to stand upto SP.. as in SP would remain the big star, more popular etc...

Honestly, in initial days GK looked youth and there were comment's on how odd they look as couple...

What RS didn't realise was that GK will work hard to fit the role and he did with such a finesse.. his off screen bonding with Rups helped both create a sizzling chemistry on-screen..

Probably Anuj was planned as a side character like Kavya.. where Rups and SP will remain main leads only..Infact initial episodes even Kavya was shown as positive character who wanted to break up for Anu but was then manipulated by Vanraj.

RS never imagined the recognition and success GK will get as Anuj..every now and then he tries to reduce his role but the SM comments stops him..he is worried about TRP and shows no 1 position too... It's getting difficult for him now..Muku is his another attempt to sort of ruin, taint, or say weaken Anuj's character..

It may be. But I feel Anuj was never b a side role as initial episodes of the show Devika mentioned about Anuj loving Anu during clg days. Yeah it can be the trying on Gk as Anuj, how audience will accept this character. Love interest of the main lead of the show eventually make you the centre of thr show in ITV. Thats what I thought. No offense taken.. we are here to discuss right and hear each other's view points.

Not exactly dear...you often see the love interest playing a secondary role too...

Reverse the genders...in movies Hero and Villain are crucial, often heroine are not given that important role, they are positive, support hero etc etc...but they get less screen space as villain..

In Anupama, it's just that hero is Anupama and Vanraj is villain..the two most important character.. Kavya and Anuj were probably planned as supporting roles only, is my guess.

You may be on to something here komal. Today's epi had a subtle reference to Anupama being the hero/heroine and Anuj having a side role!

I knew Anuj was also part of script. My point was popularity of the actor playing Anuj compared to popularity of Vanraj.

I don't know about Marathi version.. but let's talk about Sreemoyee.. the actor playing Anuj there is very popular and big star known for work in movies too... No offense but Gaurav is an underdog, they didn't picked any popular actor for Anuj.. infact when he started, SP was very popular and had huge fan following.. but see now who has more fan following..

Am not comparing the characters role in script but the popularity of character and actors..

Anupama is the journey of Anupama which has vanraj as a villian agreed but here in the journey a divorcee can also have second chance in her life at mid 40 too, she can have a life full of love and respect, she can have second marriage also. Anuj ans vanraj both are important right now. But the show is and will be focused on the direction it will inclined. As progressive Anupama Anuj will always be in picture. Vanraj will only come when it will b concerned about her kids but never in the centre with Anu.

Yes u r correct they didn't planned anuj to be male lead but his hard work on building his character work like miracle for this show...his is trp giver... But still makers are busy in whitewashing vanraj n spoiling the charm of this show.... Seriously! I thought jab Kavya ne Anuj ka office join kiya tha, he clearly stated that Vanraaj was not to come to the office. Kabhi kabhi lagta hai ki Anuj ko dementia ho gaya hai. Probably due to the mental trauma he experienced since he met Anupama. Agar itne hi paise and power hai that he said he will be able to get the land for apni behen’s restaurant, then office bhi alag kar de na. Vanika bhi khush and devi Anupama bhi khush.

It’s becoming unbearable day by day! Har instance mein Anupama bhashan dena shuru kar deti hai. Cringe!
