Did Anupama face mental, emotional and physical abuse?

I genuinely want to know now, as Vanraj definitely has tortured her mentally and emotionally.. But has baa too slapped her in her young days?

If so why the hell is she still living there?

I’m absolutely sure Baa has physically abused Anupamaa as well. Mental aur emotional torture toh roz kartein hain.

Mental & emotional - Still going on.

Physical - They have never hit her directly. Baa once said that her MIL used to hit her, so Anu & Kinjal have it better than her. In other ways, she has faced physical abuse. Like making her go through a pregnancy that she didn't want, Vanraj & Baa threatening to hit her, etc. Vanraj might have stopped physical threats, but neglect is still going on. Woman came back from the resort after a surgery.. And ran straight to the kitchen to prepare 10 different type of teas for the tired family. Like, she literally didn't even sit down. Samar has been the only one to even acknowledge Anu's heath issues after the resort phase. And Bapuji.. Anu might hand him his meds & water everyday. But than man will never give enough of a flying f*ck to even ask her if she's taking her meds on time. Remeber when she had a mental breakdown after the Vanya reveal? Bapuji asked her once about it & made her tea. That's it. It literally took Anu almost dying for Bapuji to make a small action of care.

Mental abuse and mental torcher was too much ! I mean anyone can easily file mental harassment case !

Anupama had always low self esteem and no self worth before ema expose and she always felt herself less than vanraj and she had confessed it so many times in the initial episodes that toshu ke papa was looking handsome during their marriage and was way more educated than her so she was lucky etc !

Because of low self esteem and no self worth she failed to raise her voice against everyone who were treating her like maid and no one valued her except samar!

It is transformation that now she is ready to think that she is no less than anyone !

Because we see real women reflected in Anu. The time Anu said that Vanraj is too good for her & he looked out of her league at their wedding, I saw my aunt in her. Even though my aunt continues to look better than her husband even after 3 pregnancies, she cannot see beyond what her in-laws have ingrained in her.

Then her oldass phone in a family where even Baa has a smart phone? That's every other middleclass Indian housewife.

Other have already mentioned emotional and verbal abuse.

But for physical abuse - yes there has been instances where Vanraj manhandled her.

I haven't watched all episodes but one's I remember are :

The first time she went out with Devika and he dragged her out of the house and slammed the door on her face.

Other scenes were right after EMA was revealed she asked for divorce - Vanraj tried convincing her with lies but when those didn't work he manhandled her many times - couple of times he tried to slap her. Recently he pushed her on when Pakhi scored first in the class and they were celebrating. Problem is these all scenes were never considered a problem and passed on like this type of behavior is normal just because someone is angry or has bad temper.

For the same reasons , to me it always looked ridiculous how she befriended Vanraj just within a month of divorce. And how she actively helped him in everything. Not to forget her continuing doing all chores she did as wife even after divorce.🤦

Her life was always on a roller costar ride with unexpected turns and events. She was constantly abused, threatened , intimidated, mentally and emotionally tortured for years by her husband vanraj and mother in law. She was the easy target for her own kids toshu and sweety who were not less either in insulting their own mother on daily basis.

in short she was like a ping pong ball for shah's .

I totally agree with this point. Even if you are doing more than enough you are made to feel inferior in every matter. That is the worst kind of mental and emotional abuse. It comes in such small instances that we are not able to see but slowly it gets etched in our brain that everything we are facing is all our fault. That we don't deserve normal behaviour and we should consider ourselves lucky. It's not something that happens only to less educated women but even women who are well educated and have a professional get dragged into such a mess and sometimes it is much worse.

Oh God, now hopefully she will leave the house.. She can maintain cordial relationship with her in-laws but staying together is something any sane person will advise not to
