It comes in such small instances that we are not able to see but slowly it gets etched in our brain that everything we are facing is all our fault. That we don't deserve normal behaviour and we should consider ourselves lucky. It's not something that happens only to less educated women but even women who are well educated and have a professional get dragged into such a mess and sometimes it is much worse.

Absolutely true, we in India and specially housewives just take mental and emotional abuses very lightly and suffer.. I really agree with your points

Yup he totally did and they overlooked the whole thing like they have been doing for a while

Personally I am sensitive even man pulling or pushing women so I tend to notice such things firsthand. I hate it when CV just normalize such behavior

Yes, without a doubt. The fact that Anupama did not see it as so at the time doesn't negate the truth. Baa, Vanraj did so overtly, but, I feel Bapuji is as guilty for allowing it to happen despite having the authority to do something about it. By being silent he was enabling it to continue.

It can be argued that Anupama herself was an enabler by being silent and putting up with it. But, did she even see it as such at that time? For an outsider it's easy to see what's happening, but when it's the only life you know, it's normal, isn't it? It's also important to look into her socio economic background to understand why she was silent then. The concept of pati being parmeshwar and of the saas sasur's word being gospel would have been drilled into her from childhood.

Would her confiding in her mother have achieved anything other than causing distress to her mother? To Anupama's mom's credit, she did stand up for her when the truth came out. Would she have done the same before though? More importantly, would Baa have listened? Baa never lost any opportunity to taunt and insult Anupama's maika. After all, in Baa's pathetically plebeian world, she considers herself superior to them by dint of the two trump cards she holds - being the saas and being better placed financially.

Next week's preview gives me hope that Anupama may actually be leaving that asylum. It's only then that she will be able to truly begin to understand the amount of stress she was bearing each and every day of those 26 years.

I agree that Anupama may not have shared much with mother. Even the EMA she got to know from others. Anupama s mother questions baa Bagwan after Anupama has become a Saas herself. Anupama stoicallt bore the nonsense. It is sad that no ones voice has been heard by Baa Bagwan. As Devika said she is one of a kind and has perfected the art of lashing out at every woman.

Well Anupama was always strong mentally and physically too it was just vanraj dominating nature which never allowed her to speak in front of anyone and baa cunning nature is also responsible for her subtle nature.

We can’t forget the way she has slapped kavya and giving befitting reply to vanraj , teaching pakhi lesson and giving shut up call to toshu too . yes when it comes to character no one can take it.

It’s a not new thing for Anupama to bear insult from baa but now it’s was done in public so jawab toh dena banaya hi tha. Anupama was not shocked when baa accused her kabhi vanraj ke naam pe kabhi bacho ke naam pe. Her life is a roller coaster but then life has taught her to be soft and rigid now I really want to see how so called vanraj will survive without Anupama
