Hi guys! New to this forum...

My mom religiously watches Anupama, and I, like almost every other desi kid ended up watching this show, internally cringing and facepalming. Like so many of you lovely forum people, my interest piqued with the entry of ANUJ!! I couldn't believe it when i heard that this character will be played by Gaurav Khanna!! I loveeee that guy!! I loved him in CID as well. He is mesmerising, charming and well you guys know the rest....I swooned when i saw him in Anupama. Someone very correctly pointed out that he is a Breath of Fresh air from the Shah Circus. I frankly find the Shah family, especially Baa, Kavya and her "V" revolting. Anupama makes me mad, thanks to her goody two shows nature. But, I'm hoping that Anuj's character will bring out the self-love that Anupama lacks. I hope she begins to value her wants and needs over her toxic family. Sorry for the mini rant!

I haven't missed a single episode since Anuj entered the show (Of course, i skipped all the Shah circus scenes) But while watching the past few episodes, i have been wondering as to how this whole "Anupama+Anuj" equation will pan out. At this point, Anupama, falling in love, marrying...her whole family being on board seems next to impossible. There needs to be some moment/event that changes the way Anupama looks at Anuj right? or changes her equation?? What do you guys think??

How do you think this whole remarriage and all will pan out?? i would love to hear more on this from the people who have watched the Bengali version. Are they gonna take a year for the whole wedding sequence? and will we have to bear Baa's nonsense and Anupama pushing Anuj away?? Honestly, I'm hoping for a makeover and a change in Anupama's family centric attitude...

I would really appreciate your views on this! Thanks for reading!

For now there’s no love from her side. She doesn’t even remember him from her school days. At her age it’s hard to ‘fall’ for a person, she isn’t a naive girl nor does she have raging hormones. She is too preoccupied with her own worries, and her family never leaves her alone. I don’t know how she’ll keep an open mind to even a possibility of love, it’d be so out of character.

So yeah. She might sympathise with anuj, might even become his friend. But love is highly improbable. If she marries him, it would be for some greater good like to save his life, not for love.

Yeah... Actually what are you saying is right... Let's hope for the best, she deserves love and I hope she gets it.

I do agree with what you have to say about it being out of character for her to fall in love with anuj but i really really really hope that she doesnt marry him out of sympathy. That will break anuj in more ways than a rejection would.

I would be okay with anupama finally addressing the need to have a companion in life and marries him because they are on friendly terms and get along well and then she eventually falls for him after the marriage.

Similar to how they showed anandi and shiv.

A marriage out of sympathy would ruin their relationship beyond redemption.

@Bold Amen to that.

I'd be okay if she marries him for sympathy. She can slowly see his love and care, compare him to Vanraj and realize how lucky she is to find him.

I really am not sure if she will be able to move into the "love" zone after the sympathy thing. Sympathy is a very strong feeling in and of itself and i doubt it will leave any space in her heart to let another strong emotion like love grow.

Not to mention anuj might start pulling away from her if he feels she married him out of sympathy since he is adamant on not forcing his feelings on her and also because receiving mere sympathy from the person you love can be pretty heartbreaking

Love happens at any age and any time. Even the most sanskaari people fall in love. I would love to see a story where a woman actually falls in love at this age.
Falling in love isn’t only about raging hormones but it’s about liberation, companionship and joy.

It’s high time we came over the trope of motherly women being desexualised and only age appropriate behaviour expected out of them being motherly love.

She may not be in love, but I don’t see her not falling in love!

She deserves that!
