Yes, I think they have languages like tamil and telugu there and movies in those languages are more popular so it might be a bit hard for those people... 😳

I was going to start a topic on this too. Why not South India?
A lot of movie stars and singers in Bollywood are from South India. Hema Malini, Sri Devi, Ash, Shilpa Shetty, Sunil Shetty, Vaijayantimala to name a few. Singers - Hariharan, A R Rehman, Kavita Krishnamurthy, S P Balasubramaniam, Chitra - to name a few singers. Even Ram Gopal Verma is from Andhra Pradesh. The top contenders of Indian Idol (forgot his name) and Saregamapa (Hemachandra) were South Indian.

Hindi is our national language. Even though some people in South India may not speak Hindi - a majority of them do.
Yes, South India has four major languages - Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu but a lot of other states also have other native languages. Lot of Bengali's don't speak fluent Hindi.
So, if Antakshari's slogan is - Har Akshar per khalega - India - then they should include all of India.

karuyna 😊 from indian idol and hemacandra from saregamapa, were very good singers and deserved to win, but due to lack of people voting 4 them from their states they lost, and even people that came on as judge guest like TABU said many people in the south india don't really watch tv and mainly watch tamil and other langauge films, and its not because of people don't speak hindi, its just because other things like cinema is just so big there and tv is not really big there, i think that's why thye thought many people would not come for the auditions.

India

I say that people in Hyderabad speak only hindi. at least the auto rickshaws drivers :) They refuse to speak in telugu.
