A lot of movie stars and singers in Bollywood are from South India. Hema Malini, Sri Devi, Ash, Shilpa Shetty, Sunil Shetty, Vaijayantimala to name a few. Singers - Hariharan, A R Rehman, Kavita Krishnamurthy, S P Balasubramaniam, Chitra - to name a few singers. Even Ram Gopal Verma is from Andhra Pradesh. The top contenders of Indian Idol (forgot his name) and Saregamapa (Hemachandra) were South Indian.

Hindi is our national language. Even though some people in South India may not speak Hindi - a majority of them do.
Yes, South India has four major languages - Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu but a lot of other states also have other native languages. Lot of Bengali's don't speak fluent Hindi.
So, if Antakshari's slogan is - Har Akshar per khalega - India - then they should include all of India.

I too agree completely with your views. I noticed this lack of representation of South India, in the very first episode, I did wonder why South India was not included in their scheme of things.

I am South Indian, a Malayalee, originally from Bangalore, and I am very well conversant in Hindi. Its kind of a prejudice to think that S. Indians are not conversant in Hinid and hence cannot be included!
There may be reasons why the team of Anthakshari didnot include S.India in their game, maybe because of the lack of support to South Indian contestants in previous games of Saregamapa, which might have made them think that there may not be much interest for the auditions if held in the cities of South India.

But then, they cannot promote the program as being about "national integration" when they completely cut off the southern part of India from the show.
I guess it just goes on to prove that prejudices against south Indians still prevails..

iam too from hyderabad i got the same dout first but i did not posted as any conterversies may come but now i 100% agree with my south frendz why not south india?is it not a part of india.... 😭

we should protest for this kind of exclusion.

Even iam from hyderabad and we should do something...
