Actually, I am getting a little tired of Priya and her sulking. She could try to be a little more understanding with ACD. He is a police officer, after all, and more than once, she has tried to interfere with his work, which should never be done. I don't go around trying to tell my husband how to do his job (he tries to tell me how to do mine, but that is a different story!! That is just in his genes), nor should I.
Eljay, I agree Priya interfered needlessly with ACD's work when she tried to speak up on behalf of Charulatha. ACD rightly ticked her off then. However, her suspicion of ACD's relationship with Jamuna is an entirely different matter and perfectly understandable, as Dee seems to agree. Jealousy is a monster that gnaws at many marital and romantic relationships. Even the most modern of women falls prey to it. To Priya's credit, ACD did not do enough to assuage her suspicions. Firstly, at the temple, when she asked him "how long has this been going on", he replied "this has been going on for 4-5 months". He did not say "I have known her for 4-5 months". Perhaps he was just teasing her but it must have only deepened her suspicion. Besides, he finally told her cryptically that there was another side to him that she should not question. Had he told her unambiguously that he has to meet various people, men and women, in the course of his work, some of which is sensitive and cannot be talked about, she might have given him the benefit of the doubt.
I don't mind two episodes of renewed sulking. No more please. What I now want to see is ACD doing more than shrugging his shoulders. I want to see him try desperately to win Priya back. Our inveterate romantic Madhu, I'm sure, would have suggested that he grab her and give her such a passionate kiss that she melts ... ;-)
Btw, yesterday, in Singapore, we saw Kandu's re-entry. Roja omitted his joke of the year in her update for Monday. The dejected man was telling Abhi's maid how he was on the verge of finalising a matrimonial alliance (er, I am getting influenced by Indian lingo) when a single comment from the bride's side foiled the whole thing, viz, the bride's father's request that Kandu produce "his son" for a viewing by the bride!! I was beside myself with laughter.
