Vellaloor Thiruvizha

Scene 1:

PP calls SKPD : "Appa Sankara pandi, namma china pecchi kadaichappuram kula deivam koilukku pogave illai. Oru nadai poittu varalamada rasa?"

SKPD : "Nee sonna maruppe illama, kandippa polam. Indha nayithukizhamai polama….sariya ma?" puts the phone down.

"Dei Eshwar….."

Eshwar : "aiya , neenga phonea keeze veikaradukku munnala naan poojaikku venugara samanam vanga erpadu pannitenaiya".

SKPD gives a hearty laugh and goes in search of his daughter.

Scene 2:

Jaya : "Ennanga, manase sari illai, Vellaloor pecchi ammanai paarthutu varalama?"

ACD's father : "Polam, adhukku munnala un pullaiyai oru varthai kettudu."

ACD who is in a gloomy mood cos of the clash between professional and personal life, comes in listening to this conversation and agrees for the trip for some new space to breathe.

Scene 3:

Kanduvetti : "Yenraa Pacchaiyappa enra kalyanam ippadi thalli poitte irukku?"

Pacchaippa : "Anne, Pecchi ammanukku paal abhishegam pannunganne, anni nichayam set aagiduvanga".

Kandu :"ada enda… indha varame koilukku poiruvomada?"

Pac :" polamanne".

Scene 4:

Charu is busy dictating a letter to Priya. Priya looks distracted and Charu notices this, "Enna Priya AC Duraiyoda edhavadhu sandaiya?"

Priya wakes up with a jerk and manages a weak "adhellam onnum illai madam".

Charu gives a meaningful smile and she suddenly remembers something.

" I plan to start a new project in Vellaloor area. Are you free this Sunday.. we can plan a site visit. Priya accepts it readily so that she can have a change of atmosphere.

Scene 5:

RK's office – Everyone has left and Joe is making a net call to his boss.

"Yes boss….. andha pistola boss…… police mopam pidikaranga boss…illai boss… indha Sunday thane boss…. Andha idama… ok boss naan log out pannaren".

Shanthi who has been silently spying on Joe couldn't findout where he is heading but decides to follow him on Sunday and calls her 'shadow's mobile.

Scene 6 :

A visibly kadukadu Abi , unable to openly konjify her parents, decides to pass her time atleast by following one parent or the other at all times.

Scene 7:

RK – "Madhan ! ungamma poi 3 maasam aachu. Indha weekend Pecchiamman koilil oru anna daanam erpadu pannalaamnu irukken. Shanthi, Arjun, Dinesh kitte sollidu.

Madhan – romba bavyama "sari ppa".

This is outstanding, Giri. I hadn't noticed this thread until today. What a pity. Now I have to go back and read all the previous postings. You are really talented. I am waiting for the next set of scenes in Vellaloor. Btw, where is this place? Or is it fictional?

Giri girl, Amazing!!! Love your dialogue -- so authentic. Nice plot too. All descending on one location, some romance, some suspense, some thrilling moments ... Do give it a good ending though for CR may just pick up your ideas 😉

Giri, I just read your fiction about the chain josiyam. We used to do it in my college days (which were a long time back), but the idea then was that if it went in circles, it was a girl, and the oscillations meant a boy. It came true for my friend, but I was supposed to have two boys and a girl, with the girl between the two boys. ALL WRONG! I have had only two boys, with no hopes of any more.

The story was great, though.

Part II – Vellaloor thiruvizha

From Saturday morning, Pecchi amman koil kurukkal was in a very very jubilant mood. Edho aadikki oru murai, ammavaasaikku oru murai 4, 5 peru koil vanduttu povanga. But now 4 different people have arranged for abhishekam and poojai on a single day. Koille je je je nu irukkaporadhu. Avarum paavam konjam sillarai paarkalaam. He decided that somehow he should get good donations for daily neivedhiyam from these people. Avarukku irundha moodil ellaraiyum odi odi veratti velai vangittu irundhar.

ACD and his parents travel by Nilgiri express and reach Coimbatore junction early in the morning. They check in to a nearby hotel. After an hour they hire a taxi and leave for the temple. Vellaloor is a small village nearer to Coimbatore. Amaidiyana idam. Kaathu nalla picchukittu adikkum. ACD manasu fulla Priya "dappa kulla nerunjirukkara perungayam" madiri adaichikkittu irundha. ACD didn't know so many things were happening concerning himself (as usual)😃. He wishes Priya was there with him in that serene atmosphere and immerses himself in a dream – rendu perum maalaiyum kazhuthuma koila sutthi vara madiri.( dream panni dream panni alutthu pogalai .. eppo than seriala kalyanam panna porangalo😡😆 )Kurukkal odi odi vandhu varaverkararu.

Kurukkal – "vango vango… prayanam ellam sowriyama irundhadha? Idhan unga pulaiyandana?", gives an appraising look at ACD.

ACD 's father – "Aamam. Poojai samanum vangiteengala?"

Kuru with a kuzhaivu in his voice- "ellam thaiyara irukku.. innum 3 peru abhisekhathukku kuduthirukka.. avaalum vandhuduva.. sittha wait pannarela?"

The parents sit on one side and the son behind them. Jaya pulls out a sloka book. The father & half distracted son talk about the temple , weather, real estate and so on with frequent stern "umm…umm" from Jaya.

Kandhuvatti Ramu and his henchmen travel by road in their Tata Sumo.

Kandhu – "Dei Sivakomara… nera Gandhipuram poiruvome. Ange enra onnu vitta thambi ramasamy veetula kulichittu sariya 8 manikku 'lengarkaana' market poi, poo , rojamaalai , pazham, paalu, poosaikku venungaradu vaangittu 9 manikkulaara Vellalooru poiranum".

Siva – "Kandippane.."

This party enter the koil at sharp 9am. Kandhu takes his thundu and ties it around his abdomen and does a shastaanga namaskaram "Pecchi amma.. enra aasaiyai niravethipudu thaayee". Indha sattham kettu ACD looks up at Kandhu , who also notices the policeman's family. Immediately Kandhu goes to them with the same broad flashy beam, " Vanakkam AC Sireh.. ivanga siroda appa ammangala? vanakkam Periya Sirae, Vanakkam ammani.." Jaya and her husband give questioning glances at their son and manage weak smiles. ACD just nods his head. Kandhu and his men sit 10 feet away.

SKPD, PP and CP also traveled by Nilgiri express, but in AC coach.. so they missed ACD. Abi had earlier decided in favour of tagging along with her father😃. They arrive at the koil at around 9.15am. CP is in a beautiful mustard with green border silk saree and she stiffens to attention seeing ACD, but somehow manages the situation & goes to stand-at-ease stance😃. Abi in her usual silk cotton sandhan colour ganga- yamuna saree. Ava pinnala avaloda alter-ego in a yellow saree😆. SKPD gives exercise to his facial muscles on seeing Kandhu and his men. This family sits opposite to ACD's.

RK & his kudumbam( Shanthi, Arjun, Madhan, Dinesh, Anita) had arrived by flight on Saturday itself. They had arranged with a local catering service and they all arrive in a indigo car followed by a matador van with lot of periya periya kundaans full of food.

RK expresses surprise at seeing ACD & co. RK mugathula Abirami parthu paasam… anbu … nesam appadiye pongi thalumbi nirambi vazhiyudhu.

But Abi from one side and Omni, shadow, Madhan and Dinesh from the opposite exchange 'koba paarvaigal'. At the same time ACD sends a koba paarvai at Omni for having left Priya alone in Chennai. Next Abi sees Kandhu and transfers another ambu towards him. Kandhu on the other hand is sitting with an asattu sirippu.

Now that everyone has come, the iyer starts with a "shuklaam baradaram vishnum….."

Giri........ just saw this..... heheheheheh........ cannot wait for the next episode. 😆

Part III – Vellaloor thiruvizha

Omni tharaila vizhunda meen pola thaviya thavichittu irukka. Her plans of following Samson were foiled by RK's sudden anna daana programme. Sollavum mudiyama mellavum mudiyadhu thavichi , yoshichu yoshichu finally she hit upon the idea of deputing Narayanan, the 'aasthana vandi oti'. Now in front of the deity, half her mind is with Narayanan and his job.

RK suddenly – "aama, indha Narayanan innum en varalai?" Omni and shadow exchange looks, not missed by Abi , who suspects everyone from RK family as usual. Abi saami thavira ellaraiyum parthuttu irukka - her expressions changing from ekkam – poramai-kobam – erichal- aruvaruppu – but no smile.

Kandhu still has the same 'illichavaai' pose looking at the daughters and the father every now and then. PP keeps smiling at the future grandson-in-law(?) with lot of perumai and sandhosham , poor ACD smiles back at her.

Abishekam, alangaram mudinju … deeparadhanai kaatararu kurukkal. Kandhu pataal pataal nu kannathula pottukararu. Kannula otthikaranga. When the kurukkal goes back with the aarathi thattu, it is heavier by Rs.5000. He distributes kumkum and veeboodhi and brings 4 of samikku potta poo malais for each of the 4 families. First ACD kazhutthula onnu, RK kazhuthulla rendu , kandhukku moonavadhu. When he comes to SKPD, SKPD receives and puts it on CP. Abi vaayil irundu pogai (vaithu ericchal) – CP maalai appadiye vaadi poramadiri.

PP and SKPD imagine ACD and CP side by side with their garlands and appadiye poorichu poranga. Next anna dhana programme starts. The entire village has assembled there and RK family get into action. RK requests Abi to help much to the chagrin of the rest of his family. ACD and CP also volunteer. A big shamiyana is erected and vaazhai ilaiyile food is served.

Just then Charu followed by Priya enter the temple. They had initially gone in search of the village councilor, but since he was at the temple, they had come here. Swami darisanam pannaranga. Then they come to know that RK family also has come. (Priya and Omni serndu thane irukkanga – indha vishayam erkanave Priyavirkku theriyadha appadinu logic ketka koodadhu!!!! ok ok … Priya 2 naala friendoda hostela oru changekku thangittu irukka adhan vishayam theriyalai … poruma?)

Omni invites Charu and Priya also to eat. Priya still in a gloomy mood sits down next to her. She is yet to realise the presence of ACD. When Gulab jamoon is served she looks up to find a widely grinning ACD. Charu is also surprised. Priya displays navarasam, sorry 11 rasams on her face and finally settle with a small smile, when she spots CP also serving nearby. Appadiye mugam ellam velluthu poi Priyavirkku thalai sutthi gulab jamoon meleye mayangi vizhara. Ange chinnadha oru salasalappu. ACD & Jamuna kaithaangala Priyavai kootitu poi oru thinnaila utkara vecchu aasuvasa padutharanga. Priya opens her eyes and glares at Jammu. But this time ACD proudly introduces Priya as his fiance. Jamunakku ellam purinja madiri irukku. She congratulates Priya. Priyakku vaithula gulabjamoon vartha madiri irukku.

At the same time in another area, RK repeats his earlier question –"innum Narayanan kanome?" Omni prays that Narayanan doesn't lose sight of Samson, the very next second she sees Narayanan entering the temple. She gets very upset "pocchu pocchu ellam pocchu, Samsonai marupadi kottai vittachu".

Omni takes Narayanan aside and conducts a brief enquiry.

Back to ACD – Priya –Jamuna. ACD's parents and PP also arrive at the thinnai .

PP to ACD's parents – " indha madiri oru pullai kidaikka neenga romba perumai padanum". The parents listen with interest. Priya kaadhai nalla theetikira. "Idhu en pethi china pecchi. Ivalukkum unga pullai Durai thambikkum……". Priya gets ready for another mayakkam when SKPD

suddenly interrupts ," anna thangai madiri irukkanga. CP kku namma kudumbathuleye oru murai payan irukkaru. Avaroda nichayam panniten".. so saying he introduces Kandhuvetti Ramu. "murai payan theriyum aana idhu enna kizhapayan…" Jamuna faints.
