Pat, unga viralukku thanga mothiram thaan, considering the patience and speed with which you are doing the updates. ?Of course, we need to go to Sue to get the gold for the ring.

So this is Karthik's solution? ?He creates the problem, he tries to run away from it, and now he tells Manisha to leave? ?And of course, all this is being discussed with the doors wide open, so that anyone can walk in and listen to all the conversation. ?How stupid can he get?

Thanks, Pat, for having the patience to do a detailed update. I saw the episode in fast-forward motion but paid special attention to the exchange between K, M and S. I thought it was extremely funny that Karthik at first says he has made a decision and then tells Manisha it is up to her to decide! Of course, he subsequently made it clear he would like her to leave but then Shanthi, the thyagi, offers to leave. I thought Karthik finally came up with an excellent solution of disappearing downunder but stupid RK stops him. RK scolds him for running away but when Karthik gives notice and leaves, that's tantamount to a divorce and isn't about running away. It would have saved us a lot of heartache had he gone to Australia. RK stupidly asks what is to happen to Indhu if asked who her father is. Well, Indhu has a proper father's name -- Vijay. The late Vijay. Right from the beginning she knew Karthik was not her biological father but CR forgot that.
Giri, you say Srini had already made a police complaint against Karthik and yesterday's episode on that aspect was a repeat. Perhaps; I don't know. But I wonder whether the complaint this time is about Karthik hitting him or Karthik leading a bigamous life with both wives under one roof. (If the latter, the state isn't a morality police and I thought they would not charge anyone with bigamy unless the spouse brings up such a charge, the state preferring to shut an eye.)

Eljay,
Similarly Meghala. The trick played on dhanda's family has been openly discussed instead of going behind closed door.
Did I not predict that all these suntv story writers exchange ideas and plant them in different stories around the same time?

Yes, Jagdu. There must be a "creative" factory that is churning out a few storylines and giving out licences for directors to tweak them slightly and re-use them. What usually gets changed is the setting (village or town), names and a few other inconsequential details. If these storylines are planted within broader storylines, they would look different and would fool anybody. The production line must be drying up, owing to the impact of the recession, so it is just 2 or 3 stories now going around.

For new director "Viduthalai"
Dear Viduthalai

Congratulations on landing the job of new director of Anandham. We know that you have a challenging assignment trying to sustain audience interest four years into this long-running serial, so here are some suggestions to help you in your job.

  1. Viewers no longer find any anandham in this serial, so try to wrap it up quickly.
  2. Viewers get no anandham at all watching this boring RK family saga. Some India Forum (IF) readers misguidedly commented a while ago that the serial had moved too far away from its original focus on the RK family but they didn't seriously ask for this focus on Karthik and his two wives or even a repeat of the Rocky illness saga, which you seem to be in danger of starting. Please stop focusing on stale storylines and stop taking us on merry-go-rounds.
  3. Please end the Karthi-Manisha-Shanthi triangle quickly. Shanthi shouldn't accept a marriage that was based on pity and charity. She should throw out Karthik (she shouldnt leave the house). Manisha shouldn't accept a man who had once dumped her. She should snub him forever. Karthik can go to Australia or go live in the ashram with Daddy. Of course, he should continue to financially support the two women and should have visitation rights to the two children. Both women are highly capable of fending for themselves. They can work to support themselves but Karthik has the obligation to provide finances for the maintenance of the two children. Please show the two women as the strong, independent women they are. Shanthi can go back to business while Manisha can start a travel agency.
  4. Karthik (whom we in IF call Baggage) may have been the original hero of this serial but most viewers see AC Durai (ACD) as the real hero. They want to see him in action. More importantly, they want to see some romance between ACD and Priya. Please, please show the kadu kadu ACD romancing Priya until they get married in the final episode. Look, they are both living under the same roof now. Surely there must be plenty of scope for romance and even petty little lovers' quarrels.
  5. Please don't show the Indian police force as totally incompetent, corrupt, etc.
  6. Please keep Sangakarapandian (SKPD) in prison for life. He can have Srini and Abhirami for company.
  7. Bring back Kanduvetti for some humour before he too joins the others in jail.
  8. If you want ideas for romance between ACD and Priya, please go through the fan fiction pages (by Giri and Bonheur). There are plenty of ideas that can be adapted. For instance, my story of ACD and Priya going to the zoo! Another idea. Priya and ACD can have a small tiff – for instance, Priya getting upset that she has to depend on ACD for money to go to the market. Finally, they make up by deciding that she should go back to work for financial independence. Then the two of them can go out for dinner to celebrate the decision and discuss her job options. Just simple stories such as these while you complete the Karthik-Manisha-Shanthi saga.
  9. Finally, wrap up the serial quickly. If you want, you can start a brand new spin-off serial focusing on ACD and Priya, where you can explore the ups and downs in their romance and marital life, along with new subplots and new characters. Plus a promoted ACD can start to reform the police service and undo the damage that Cheyar Raviee and his creative boys did. Or ACD can resign from the police force and set up a private detective agency and you can do a Miami-PI type of serial with a sub-plot focusing on ACD's love life with Priya.

FOR MR CHEYAR RAVIEE (CR)

Finally, I take this opportunity to say a word to Mr Cheyar Raviee. Yes, we IFians had many harsh words for you over the years. But we do recognize that you had little choice in determining how long the serial should drag on and we do understand that after four years one tends to run out of creative ideas. All said and done, you did create a hero out of ACD and you presented interesting, multidimensional characters in the person of Abhirami and even Sangkarapandian. You also did try to include positive social messages. So, in parting, best wishes to you in your future projects.

Yours sincerely
Bonheur

Ahhh! What a wonderful day! First, we have an update from Pat (thanks, pat!) and then a heartfelt letter from Bon to Mr/Mrs Viduthalai. Both have cheered and lifted my spirits because I now feel there is hope for an end to this saga. Surely the producers will take note of such dedication and hope; Thanks again, Pat and Bon!

Bon, a lovely well said letter to Mr/Mrs Viduthalai. Nice name V. May we bask in the name of freedom. 😃
Also a very nice parting message to CR. Whatever said and done, he did bring some humour in form of Kanduvetti and social issues. I wish you good luck as well CR.
Thanks Bon
