Last week was probably a superlative week, when all the little kids performed brilliantly.. This perhaps raised our expecations so much from them, and this week they left me little dissapointed!

I was not too surprised with the bottom 4 this week... The issue is that all of these kids are so good, that whoever turns up in bottom 4 will be a surprise for the judges...

Last week - anyway Anwesha, Prakriti and Sonya could not have landed up in bottom 4.. they were that good... I would keep Aishwarya, Abeer and Manasi in the next lot based on last weeks performance.. So one of them had to land up in bottom 4... Now Aishwarya has a quite a strong fan base, so she was relatively safer.. Between Abeer and Manasi, Manasi proved to be the unlucky one to land up in scaryland... I am assuming that Abeer beat her just by a whisker... As for the 3 other boys, yes Jayant, Areeb and Vyom were the weakest last week, and its no surprise to me that they all were at bottom 4.. In fact when they called up these 3 kids first, I was actually sad that only 1 or 2 of these kids would be in danger and that would mean that some of the better performers of last week would have to face the scaryland.. But thank God, that did not happen...

I really did not appreciate the pseudo tension that the judges were trying to build up saying that they could not believe the votes.. I also thought that the AV of projecting the judges bias was not needed... If Manasi and Abeer had stayed back earlier, it was because they gave better performances than the other kids.. Cuteness had nothing to do with that decision... Gajji - pls refrain from creating unnecessary controversies in the show!

As for the group performances.. I personally like 'Tauba main pyar karke' the most over the other ones.. I think the tonal quality of the 3 boys was similar in nature and hence the group effect came out best for them... In 'Yeh ishq haaye', since Anwesha, Aishwarya and Prakriti were singing together, it became very evident that their tonal quality also ranked in that order... For 'Dupatta tera..' I think the kids gave quite an enjoyable performance along with Kunal...

Prakriti was declared as the highest vote gainer for last week... She was definitely one of the top 3 from last week, but how I expeceted that Anwesha would have stolen the show with 'Aami je Tomaar'... But as Kunal pointed out, probably the Bengal votes are getting divided between her and the girls from the other show, and hence she has still not emerged as a topper... Prakriti put in great expressions in her 'O mere Sona Re' performance, but I found her voice cracked yesterday.. I also see that she goes on falsetto on the higher notes.. something that she will have to rectify soon..

As for the acid test performances... Vyom came back very strongly in 'Gulaabi Aankhen'.. He is perhaps the weaker talent among all the bottom 4 singers, but his yesterday's performance was way above the singing of other 3, and if he was given the red signal yesterday looking at the potential of other kids, it would have been unfair to him.. Good decision judges!

I know Manasi went out of sur in quite a few places with 'Jaane kyon log..' yesterday, but then at some places, she was simply amazing with her expressions.. I think this is the first sombre song that she attempted and the child did very good for her age with it.. I think she was marked lower than what she deserved for her performance yesterday...

The weakest singers yesterday were Jayant and Areeb... Jayant sounded very very nasal with 'Lagan lagan', neither did he get the lower notes correct! Areeb also could not do full justice to 'Jaane kya dhoonde man' (one of my fav songs).. I think both of them gave their weakest performance yesterday.. I think what influenced the judges in their favor instead of Manasi, is their better classical potential over her..

But overall, I felt sad that just based on the performances yesterday (and erasing memories of past record).. she should have stayed back... Between Jayant and Areeb, who should have gone in that case.. well, my ears found Areeb a shade better than Jayant in yesterday's performance...

Like many others, I also felt very sad when Manasi was crying irresistably yesterday.. My heart went out to the child.. I think, the tears were more from the standpoint that the elimination did not seem too fair.. Really good to see the maturity in Manasi's mom that she did not create an issue out of it, and gave all the strength to her... I am sure that she will grow her daughter up to a strong and fine singer...

Looking fwd to today's episode now with Ghulam Ali Saab and some fine song selections by the kids... Will write down my thoughts for the episode here after watching the same...

I felt too bad when mansi was crying.... ...she should not hv been out in this round..never felt so bad on any contestant's elimination in any show ever.
Saturday though made up all that sad mood....baring 1-2 each and everyone was awesome....
Nice to see Vyom making a come back.....from the very 1st day i luved this boy's way of singing..especially the rafi songs.
Only drawback - they should hv the episodes theme based. that would make it better not just for the sake of the show but also will be better as to testing a contestant. they will be made to then sing songs of every genre.

Saturday episode this week will be memorable for some fabulous performances, and some great atmosphere created by the guest judge... One could almost feel the positive vibes that Ghulam Ali saab had brought in the kids...

I loved the opening performance on 'Jame Raho'... The kids always perform adorably on kid songs.. But as I have said earlier, the rounds should be theme based and the opening song should match the theme as well... I am really looking fwd to that sometime soon...

Abeer selected one of the toughest songs of Sonu esp for his age in 'Deewana Tera', and I think he did quite a decent job out of it.. That he dared to perform this number, shows his growth as a singer that has taken place after coming to the show... Yes, he did slip on sur in places, and could not modulate his voice as an adult would have done, but the overall atmosphere was appealing... I thought it was a good start to the show...

Anwesha perhaps chose a Subha Mudgal song 'Dere Dere' to show her versatility and display how she can excel in any genre of song, I wished she could have chosen 'Seekho na naino ki bhasha' from the same singer... Dere Dere is a very tough song again with very little breathing space in between the lines, and I would say that Anwesha attempted the song somewhat differently.. It was very nice, but somehow I think she has set higher standards for herself...

Prakriti performed to 'Jaanam Smjha Karo'.. and frankly, I thought she slipped in sur and feel in many places.. She was great last week, and this week somehow things do not seem to be going right for her... I hope she finds her grip soon, or else it may just be too late for her if she finds herself in scaryland..

Areeb gave the weakest performance of the day... I think he has really cracked his voice, and singing 'Teri Deewani' always needs singing of highest calibre.. I think, Areeb at top form will always have the calibre to sing this song, but he is not in the top form! How much I was remembering Abhrokanti's performance on the song as I listened to Areeb failing in the same one...

Then came the best performance of the day... Aishwarya is back, and how! 'Aaj jaane ki zid' is such a melodious song.. and this very talented girl gave such a soulful performance.. There was so much 'theherav' in her singing that she took us all to another level with her singing... Way to go girl.. You and Anwesha together can only take the std of the show higher and that will be a boon for us music lovers!

Happy to see Vyom again finding back his form... 'Channa Ve' is not necessarily a fav song of time, but this was the first time I really found Vyom enjoying his performance, singing with full mouth open and smiling.. I think that happiness reflected in his singing as well...

Sonya gave another power packed performance with 'Piya Re'.. singing this song for a girl is extremely tough, and this powerhouse talent sang it with quite some ease... Not sure. if her voice was cracked on that day again, but it somehow gave a very rustic feel to the song... I am really not sure if this girl is indeed 9 years old as she claims, but when she is singing so well just like a matured adult, who cares?

Jayant played on his home ground today and delivered a superlative 'Yel dil yeh paagal dil mera..' I really wish that the guy concentrates on his ghazal singing only.. God had given him a voice and attitude perfectly suited for the genre.. He was visibly so happy to perform in front on ustaad'ji and I am sure none were dissapointed...

Great that we got to hear 'Chupke Chupke raat din' as the final song of the evening from Ustaad'ji himself... A perfect end to a very musical episode... As for who comes in scaryland next week based on these performances... Well Areeb and Prakriti surely should.. As for the others, really not able to decide... I am scared for Anwesha, Abeer and Vyom though...

On a musically unrelated note, I would really like to congratulate the dress designers of the show.. Thus far, they have always dressed up the kids as kids, and that really goes well with the entire flow of the show 😊

After Saturday's show, i could only wish the judges had retained Mansi and let Areeb go, he seems to be going downhill with every performance.
In the danger zone on Friday, Vyom was very very good. Jayant was bad with 'Lagan Lagan' and so was Areeb and i cannot decide who was the worst. Li'l mansi was better than both of them.
Jayant was much better on Saturday but Areeb needs to improve and fast!

will come back on the Saturday performances of the rest ...

Aishwarya was the best on Saturday.Soniya,Anwesha and Jayant.Four of the most talented kid singers. It will be tougher and togher for judges as two of the comaratively weaker ones go out.
Good analysis,Jayaji.
Ghulam Ali's august presence made a lot of difernce in the performance of CUs.
