Excellent analysis as usual, and I agree with most of it...

I too think Ishmeet was the best on Saturday... Wish he maintains the same standard...

Utterly dissapointed with the MD mentors of Agni how they want the singers to copy the original and not adopt it and sing it their own way... The same was reflected in an earlier episode where they thought Harshid sang very well, where he actually copied Sanu ditto... Abhijeet was right that day, and was right on Saturday too...

I find Sumitra suffering the same syndrome.. though she sang Dil ko hazaar baar much better than some of her other songs - like Harshid, I still dont seem to know her 'real' voice! And I would always want to hear an original singer rather than a Sunidhi or a Sanu clone... I hope the Agni mentors actually try to enthuse that originality into the singers...

Toshi - well, nothing great as usual... Somehow, I always find him overdoing things.. just waiting for a real restrained performance from him....

Mirande was good, but she has been better before... Sunidhi has sung this song very very well, and Mirande has the potential to reach that.. Dont know, what happened to her....

Why would Alka even allow Priyani to sing the Chand nikla song? She has herself excelled in the song, and Priyani could never reach there - the gaps in her singing were very evident... I really thought last week that Priyani had improved a lot last week, but this week, it was back to her previous form!

Arshpreet - yes she definitely seemed bored with the song! If she had to sing a 'Dil hai ke ...' song, knowing her versatility, I would have rather wanted her to attempt the Goanese 'Galyat sankli...' song... I am afraid that she may again end up in bottom 4 next week...

Irfaan sounded really bad after hearing the terrific rendition of the same sing from Arindam a few weeks back....

Whats it with Abhilasha? Is the girl really forgetting her songs like this, or is it a part of the dramatised script?? I am not sure.. but it would be indeed unfortunate, if she has to leave without us getting to hear her enough....

Abhaas remains extremely consistent and competent... Satrangi Re was brilliant... Saturday could not match that exactly!

And finally the markings and the mentors... As Abhijeet currectly pointed out, I too think that Alka should have been the neutral mentor! The Agni team is giving very less marks for Prithvi and if the voting is getting influenced by the points of the 'learned' judges, the Prithvi team may get voted too soon!!

Hoping that it is indeed not the case!

I think two differences in approach are emerging between the Agni and Prithvi mentors. Agni wants people to stick to one genre and to sound as close to the original as possible. Prithvi is pushing people to try different things and to sound like themselves.

Isn't Tinka Tinka by Alisha Chinai?

yes ... tinka tinka is by alisha chinai ... one of the better songs sung by her ...

i somehow feel that the next elimination is going to be from agni ... and arshpreet has been in the danger zone so often ... so dont know ... it cud be sumitra as well ... the rest from agni are too strong IMO

another point which has me thinking is the judges score ... how is that used in the final ranking remains a mystery ... why cant they make it more transparent ... so far it has appeared like 100% public ... and if 50% weightage is given to judges' marks then abhilasha shud ideally not be out next week ... dont know ... at this stage this is very confusing ...

As far as I think, its 100% audience votes - the judges marks only decides who gets the Dairy Milk 😆

The difference between Agni and Prithvi style of workin is very evident - not only Agni is less experimental, they are also more protective/defensive about their contestants... As gurus, that may not be the right thing to do, esp if they want their contestants to improve...

I am also guessing that the next elimination is from Agni... And yes, I hate to say this, but looks like Arshpreet may be the poor victim!

Judging by the fate of most competition winners, the Dairy Milk Choc may be a more reliable win!

But you have raised a very valid question Vanaja... The fate of the winners in all these shows has been pathetic...

VOI has gone one step further, and not yet even promised/declared what the winner is going to get! Probably, they are also ashamed of the fact that the winner seldom get that in reality

In fact, Jaya, after Lil Champs, I am convinced that the real prize is to last a long time in the competition so that people remember you, but not to win. Karunya, Hemachandra, Nihira are doing better than those who won their shows. And, Abhro and Pawni are getting to study music and complete their education while the finalists seem to have become Zee TV permanent fixtures.
