Guru cool
Sudhanshu Pande and Aashka Goradia won't budge without their guru Gul Saheb's consent
What is the common between Sudhanshu Pande and Aashka Goradia? Well, they have a spiritual connection. Both the lead actors of Akela on Sony have the same spiritual guru, Gul Saheb, who is their friend, philosopher and guide.
For those, who do not know Gul Saheb, he is one of the spiritual gurus of tinsel town who provides solace to the actors and actresses in times of distress.
Sudhanshu, who is shown, having extra-ordinary powers in the serial, is a great admirer of Gul saheb's real life. The actor met his guru through one of his friends a long time back.
"This was a time when I really needed someone to guide me through a bad patch in my life. After meeting him, I found that now I have someone who is like my father, giving me unconditional support. That meeting changed my life forever," he says confidently.
The actor makes it a point to visit his guru regularly with his family.
"For outsiders like us, it's very hard to sustain ourselves in this city. Whenever, I feel frustrated or feeling low, I go to him to seek peace of mind. Believe me, he draws all the negative energy from us and showers us with positive energy. He is like family to us and we don't do anything without his consent, even my career moves. He is the man who had predicted that I will be a well-known face in the industry," he adds.
But, does his guru charge him money for giving advice?
"He never charged a single paisa from me. He says that one who charges money loses the gift that he has been blessed with," says Sudhanshu.
Aashka, who knows Gul Saheb for the last four-and-a-half years, also believes in his spiritual powers. "I met him through a friend of mine. Guruji guides me for all my career moves and my relationship woes. He makes it a point that everyone should live life to the fullest and that too with a positive approach," she says.
Gul saheb, when contacted, said that it's only his shishyas modesty to give him the credits of their success.
"I am with the shishyas when they are not successful. But once they make it big, I gradually stop meeting them. Life here is full of tension, so they need some moral boost," says Gul Saheb.
So, what does he think about his two shishyas, Sudhanshu and Aashka?
"Both of them are very good human beings. Most actors today are insecure about their future and relationships. I help the actors get rid of their egos and their insecurities. I also help them overcome their depression," Gul Saheb adds.
