Why not.....It must have taken a lot of time to post all these answers.
One question.....I read in one of your posts that you are an atheist.....May I know the reason?
Yes Vasu it did take a long time but I didn't mind it. I actually had fun.
Well a major portion of my atheism comes from my reading. As I read more philosophy and history, I stopped believing in the idea of God. I dont want to hurt the feelings of those who believe in God but for me God operates as a concept to give hope to the human heart and some kind of rationalisation against the meaningless ness of the world. I've always had a great horror of ratinalisation, so don't want to fall for what i think is the biggest rationalisation of them all. At a personal level, my mom and grandparents are deply religious so they don't really understand my decision (yes i think being atheist is also a choice that you make). And finally, as someone who has lived through the Gaujarat riots, seen friends go through terrible things, seen that sheer brutality and insanity in the name of religion put me off institutionalised religion forever.
I'm sorry if i've hurt any feelings. this is a senstitive topic and i already hurt one person's religious feelings with it, so don't want to do that any more.

-Your nick name? Not going to tell you 😉
-One thing that you could give up your life for? What would i do with that thing if i lost my life... nothings that important to me.
-Ur current crush? Gaurav Chopraa... everyone on adhm knows this. i haven't been the blushing silent damsel in distress at all, i've announced my crush from the rooftops. 😃
-most memorable moment of your life till date? many small moments but no major one so far.
-Whats the word which u commonly use? Uffffff... my friends say i say it very frequently
-ur all time fav movie? lots of them sweetie... Sholay, Life is Beautiful, Children of Heaven, Singin in the Rain, Philadelphia, Glomaal, Angoor, Mirch Masala, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron, Looking for Richard.....
-fav telly actor? Gaurav Chopraa right now, Kanwaljeet, Pawan Shankar, Jayant Kriplani, Anjan Shrivastava, ... loved Sudesh Berry in Kashish but nowhere else, Kitu Gidwani. as a kid was in love with the guy who said "i say chaps" in Fauji.
-fav telly actress? i like Niki Aneja, Kavita Chaudhary, Priya Tendulkar, Malvika Tiwari was elegance personified in Kashish. Used to like the girl who played Antara in Ek se Badhkar ek, who later appeared in Hum Pardesi ho Gaye. Don't really like any of the new ones. Used to like Narayani in "Koi Aap Sa" until it became "Main yeh kyun dekh rahi hoon?" 😆
-fav bolly actor Amitabh Bachchan, Naseeruddin Shah, Balraaj Sahni, Guru Dutt, Rahul Bose, Kay Kay Menon... I also tend to like certain performances and remember them, though i may not like that actor in every movie eg. Milind Soman in Agnivarsha
-fav bolly actress? Smita Patil, Shabana, Tabu, Rekha, Nutan... find Madhubala very pretty... Chitrangandha. love Zeenat Aman and Bipasha for sheer chutzpah.
-ur top five onscreen couples? Amitabh Rekha in Silsila, Al Pacino and Michelle Pfeifer in Frankie and Johny, Jack Nicholson and Helen Hunt in As Good as it gets, Farooque Shaikh and Deepti Naval in Saath Saath, Guru Dutt and Madhubala in Mr and Mrs 55.
-fav holly actor/actress? look what you've started... Al Pacino, Meryl Streep, Cary Grant, Charlie Chaplin, Jack Nicholson, Johny Depp, Sean Penn, Audrey Hepburn, Nicole Kidman in some films, Joaquin Phoenix, i also enjoy Jackie Chan movies a lot though i soon forget them too, Colin Firth... can go on and on but will stop here
-fav singer? Mohd. Rafi, Kishore, Talat Mehmood, Frank Sinatra, Elvis, Jim Morrison (the Doors), Sonu Nigam upto a point, A.R. Rahman... these are people whose very voice is enough... then there are singers whose specific songs i like... but will not start that here. For instance, Daler Mehendi's Tu Mere Rubaru hai in Maqbool is hauntingly sung.
-genre: comedy/action/romance/drama/thriller/horror? i have a fav movie in each one... in both Hindi and Eng 😉 😆. Comedy: Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron/ Most of Chaplin, especially Modern Times, Action: Kill Bill, Reservoir Dogs... was crazy about Matrix at one point of time but now have gone off it .. can't think of any Hindi movie right now. Romance: Saath Saath. eng: Notting Hill, When Harry Met Sally, Casablanca (can't pick one). Drama: A Few Good Men (many others but this wins the race by a whisker)/ Trishul. Thriller: Memento ... hindi Khamosh (Amol Palekar, Shabana Azmi) Horror: I get very scared in horror movies, so i've seen bits and pieces of The Exorcist... don't even want to think about it. Also, can i add a category for myself: Pure out and out entertainment... ie. a Masala movie: Sholay.Oh and Fiddler on the Roof has to be my fav musical.
-If you could go back in time, where would u prefer to go? History's my fav so i can't pick one period at all. would love to see Rome in its glory, to see an actual Shakespearean production with Shakespeare doing a small role, would love to visit the battlefields of Troy and Worlds WAr I and II to see hat drives people towards violence, would love to be a part of the French and Russian Revolutions, two revolutions that changed the world, would love to go back to the Mughal era or the Indian struggle for independnce. Can't pick one at all.
-Name one place in the world where u would like to go visit? Europe. from Paris to Venice (Mozart's house!), from Rome (Sistine Chapel and David) to Scandinavia, from London (Globe theatre) to Germany... i wanna see them all.
-If you had one wish, what would it be? to have 10,000 more wishes.
-5 worst serials on telly right now? dislike most of indian tv but here goes. 1. Sansani... turning crime into sensation and making money out of it. 2. Big Boss... voyeurism at its lowest. 3. Any reality show that uses regional factors to pull in votes. 4. Any soap that shows something incredibly patriarchal and sexist... hate it at that moment. 5. One whole day of watching an India match... what are these guys doing??? 91 all out. 😡 😡 😡 😡 😡. I know its not a serial... but when i have access to tv, cricket is what i watch the most and right now i'm so frustrated with the team that i can't even type this without fuming with anger.
-5 best serials on telly right now? well i like adhm coz i have a crush on Gaurav. and i understand that people who have a crush on iqbal will like KAA and so on. 2. Sarabhai vs Sarabhai... really good comedy after a long long time. 3. We the People ... really like Barkha Dutt. 4. used to love Siddhanth... i love law shows, loved the Practice as well. 5. ER on Zee Cafe. Medical drama thats well done. i used to like Dhadkan as well.

-by car, by train, by bus or by plane? by train, any day.
-favorite food? complete foodie... love all kinds of food.
-favorite drink? Gin and lime 😉. Don't drink cold drinks since they draw on ground water level (ie drinking water) for production. Like fruit juices. Must be the only person in the world who loves both coffee and tea equally... can't imagine life without them.
-favorite pet? dont have any pets. might keep a dog someday.
-cleaning the house or cooking? on my good days, both. on a bad day, cooking.
-one person with whom u wouldn't mind being left alone on an island? someone who can get me out of there. 😃. So a sailor probably.
-ur fav section on I-F? Aisa Des Hai Mera
-One thing that you like about IF? The friends i've formed, the diversity of opinion that one finds here.
-One thing that you dislike about IF? Nothing definite... all the problems that happen here are problems that naturally happen when a lot of people with different opinions get together, so to get rid of the problems, you'd have to get rid of the people. 😉
-any suggestion for I-F? Yes yes yes. Is there any one we can get hold of older videos and upload them here? shows like Rajni, Kashish, Farmaan or more recent ones like Banegi Apni Baat (which was a stupid show but had a brilliant performance by Irrfan) or Jee Mantriji. Would love you guys for ever and ever.
-Describe yourself in 5 words. Curious, unconventional, honest, passionate and fun-loving. (i hyphenated the last one, so it counts 😃)-Rachna😊 Thanks a lot Rachna for the questions. I've had a great time answering them.
Hi Shwetal. CONGRATULATIONS on being the first ever MOW of our ADHM forum👏. How are you feeling being on the hot seat?😉 Looks like the roasting and grilling is going on zor shor se😉😆. You have been asked almost all the questions one could think of and your answers to them have also been fantastic👏👏👏, just loved reading them.
1) Well, where do you teach in Delhi?
2) If all the world is a stage, where is the audience sitting?
3) Why do they call it a TV "set" when you only get one?
4) Why did Sally sell seashells on the seashore when you can just pick them up anyway?
5) Why are elderly people often called "old people" but children are never called "new people"?
Am waiting for your answers. God bless you and may you achieve success in whatever you do. Take care,
Vidya

Hi Shwetal. CONGRATULATIONS on being the first ever MOW of our ADHM forum👏. Thank you so much How are you feeling being on the hot seat?😉 Well I'm still excited about it. Looks like the roasting and grilling is going on zor shor se😉😆. Utni zyaada bhi nahi actually. You have been asked almost all the questions one could think of and your answers to them have also been fantastic👏👏👏, just loved reading them. thanks for saying that, thats very sweet of you.
1) If all the world is a stage, where is the audience sitting? if all the world's a stage, there isn't any audience at all since everyone is too busy performing to look at anyone else.
2) Why do they call it a TV "set" when you only get one? Because once you get it, you get set on the couch, never to be dislodged again
3) Why did Sally sell seashells on the seashore when you can just pick them up anyway? thats what marketing does... create a need for something that is freely availbale otherwise and convince you that if you haven't paid for it, it aint worth anything!
4) Why are elderly people often called "old people" but children are never called "new people"? because children are 'new' and exciting only to their own parents... for the rest of the world, they do the same things as all other children... its only when they grow up that they become 'new' or 'old'.
Am waiting for your answers. Hope you enjoy them. God bless you and may you achieve success in whatever you do. Take care, Thank you so much for so many good wishes. All the very best to you as well. Bye. love, shvetal.Vidya
