Here's my take:

All this week, we witnessed Samay's double standards when it comes to his wife and his sisters... He is a very liberal brother but a very conservative husband...

When Rusty dressed up in that western outfit and came down to the party with a drink in her hand, Samay was very upset... However, we saw earlier how he defended his sister's style of dressing and he never said anything to Sweety when she was trying to force the drink down Rusty's throat right after the wedding... Do you think his behavior is justified? Why such a difference in mentality when it comes to his wife?

Hmm..I don't think his behaviour is justified, but he has been used to seeing his sister doing all these sorts of things and he thinks that this is perfectly alright for her to do so. However, since Rusty is new and she somewhat represents Samay, he thinks that to maintain their respect in society, Rusty should be dignified and cultured (thus wearing decent clothes).

I think there is a double standard in this household, where the girls of the house can do anything they want, but not the daughter-inlaw. I think there is a difference because usually the daughter-in-law is the most viewed upon society...

Do you think that men in real life have such double standards when it comes to their wife and sisters? If you look around you, what do you see? Has their mentality changed over time or are they still very conservative?

Yes, I do think men in real life have double standards when it comes to their wife and sisters. Sisters are representative of the whoel family, while the wife is the representative of only her husband. The wife has to maintain her husband's image and self-respect.

i think samay is doing right
after all he is mature n he understand wat is good for his family n for his wife.in case of randheer i think he was psycho i mean tht time he wanted to get only rusy at ne cost just bcz of ego prb.but watever now he is doing with his family n wife is the truth of life.here in india every bro thinks tht his sis can wear western dresses but their wife cant,i think the reason behind this behavour is only tht he think may be his sis cant wear western dresses at her in laws home just bcz of tredition of india.so m agree with samay's behaviour.

hah samay's character is that of a typical former playboy who is attracted to Rusty's values and he likes the fact that she is not "westernised" even after being exposed to western culture and how she has adapted to the indian culture. maybe in a way he was looking for someone like her to "Tame" him? so yes he has high expectations of her which was why he was so frustrated when she stepped out in a mini skirt and drank and smoked at the party. he married her for these very values and obviously he was pissed when she said she has a right to dress this way too if his sisters are.

Actually I am not sure if Samay is really a conservative husband. The circumstances under which he married Rusty were not normal. It could be he thinks that Rusty is all set to take revenge and to retaliate he may have become narrow minded and hence portrayed as conservative. I think if he had a normal marriage he would not have minded his wife drinking or dressed up like his siblings. I am not saying that his liberal behavior is justified. His siblings are just way out of line due to him spoiling them instead of guiding them as a big brother .

After Rusty has pointed out his siblings faults he has seen the truth in them and has understood that he was wrong and hence tried to help his siblings. So I do not think he is a double standards he just doing what many would have done put under these different circumstances

good point. so what looks like double standards is actually insecurity?

He was upset with one of his sisters as he sees how disrespectful they are with their dad. Rusty keeps asking Samay to ask his sisters why they want the money. He really likes the fact that Rusty is so caring about his family. Perhaps, in his obsession to possess Rusty, he is not in the right frame of mind.

Actually, there is one thing about Samay I don't understand, why is he so inquisitive about Rusty's dad. I mean come on, move on dude! You got what you wanted by hook or crook.

Could'nt agree more...... 😉😉😉
