CHAPTER - 9

Next day,Ananya was called in the committee meeting and Akash and Sunaina were also there and the other crew were waiting outside.The boy whom Ananya punished for creating nuisance into the flight and his father,that influential businessman was also waiting there.The boy was smiling and taunting Ananya with his eyes but Ananya did not pay any heed to him.The boys father had already complained about Ananya and so the chief of the committee members asked Ananya,"Inhone jo kaha kya vo sahi hai?Kya aapne sach mein inke bete ko hamaare flight ke washroom mein bandh karke rakkha hua tha?"Ananya replied,"Yes sir ye sahi hai."The chief asked,"Kya main jaan sakta hu aisa aapne kyu kiya?"Ananya replied,"Ye hamaare flight mein saare airhostess ko pareshaan kar rahe the khaaskar Sunaina ko aur jab main inse baat karne aayi tab inhone mere saath bhi misbehave kiya.Tab inhone bohot hi gande lihaaz mein mujhse baat ki aurtabhi maine inhe washroom mein bandh karwa diya aur jahatak mujhe pata hai inka alcohol test bhi karwaya gaya tha jo ki positive tha and according to rule,domestic flight mein alcohol serve karna aur alcohol lekar bethna dono illegal hai."The chief asked,"Inhone is baat se saaf inkaar kiya hai ke inhone Sunaina ke saath kuch bhi nehi kiya hai.Ye to bas aise hi Sunaina se baat kar rahe the aur aapne iska vo sab matlab nikaal liya aur kisiko saza dene ka ye to koi matlab nehi hua na ke aap hamaare passengers ke saath is tarah se bartaav karenge?Ye to koi tareeka nehi hua na civilized logo ke saath bartaav karne ka?"Ananya looked at Sunaina with jerk and she bowed down her head.Ananya understood that she might be scared of loosing the job,but Ananya replied,"Ye aadmi jhut bol raha hai aur vaise bhi jab koi civilized aadmi uncivilized logo ke tarah bartaav karne lage to unhe samjhaane ke liye unhiki zabaan ka istemaal karna parta hai."The chief replied,"Ye aapka kaam nehi hai ye bataana ke kiske saath kaise bartaav karna parta hai."Ananya understood that no one will listen to her and so she said,"Thik hai sir to phir aap log hi kahiye mere is so called galti ki kya saza hai?"The chief said,"Ya to aap inse abhi aur isi waqt maafi maangiye ya phir aap apna resignation letter tayyar rakkhiye."Ananya just smiled and replied,"Main jaanti thi isliye main prepare hokar hi aayi thi."Ananya took out an envelope and put it in front of the chief and replied,"Ye raha mera resignation letter.Jaha sahi kaam karne par apologize karne ko kaha jaaye aur jaha larkiyo ke respect ki koi value nehi ho aur naahi unke respect ki security ho vaha mujhe kaam karna bhi nehi hai.Aise aadmi se maafi maagne se behtar hai ke main job se resign kar du."The committee members as well as the businessman and his son were stunned with this step of Ananya and Akash was just unable to believe that she actually did that.She was about to leave when Akash spoke up and said,"Iam sorry chief aap ne itne der se mujhe kuch pucha nehi tha,isiliye maine kuch bola nehi,par ab main chup nehi reh sakta hu.Is aadmi ne jo kuch bhi Sunaina ke saath kiya uska chashmadid gawah main tha."The chief asked,"Kya matlab hai aapka?"Akash replied,"Chief jab Officer Rawat ne inhe handle karne ki koshish ki hai tab main inke peeche peeche gaya tha and inhone jo kuch bhi kaha vo sab bilkul sach tha.Maine khud dekha hai ke ye aadmi kis tarah se Sunaina ka haath pakar kar uske saath badtameezi kar raha tha and he was using such slangs on Ananya aur inka bhi isna haath pakar kar badtameezi karne ki koshish ki hai.I saw that myself."The boy stood up in rage and replied,"Abey jhut mat bol.Yaha sab miley huye hai."Akash said to the chief,"Sir main jhut kyu bolunga aur Officer Rawat yaha nayi join hui hai aise mein maine inki side kaise le sakta hu?Main to inko jaanta bhi nehi hu thik se.Sir at least you should believe me,you know me very well."Ananya and Sunaina were confused at Akash's behaviour because they remember it clearly that Akash was not present there at all.The businessman said,"Ye sab mere bete par galat ilzaam laga rahe hai."chief replied,"Dekhiye Captain Saluja hamaare airlines ke bohot senior pilots mein se ek hai,vo itna bara ilzaam ya phir itni baro baat aise hi kabhi nehi karenge.We trust him!!"The boy said to his father,"Dad ye aadmi jhut bol raha hai kyuki vow aha par tha hi nehi jab maine is airhostess ka haath pakra tha-"After uttering the words only,the boy realized what he had just said.Akash gave a winning smile to the boy and the committee members and Ananya looked at him.The businessman looked at his son with utter disappointment and then Akash said,"Aap jhut to bolte hai par jhut bolna bhi ek art hai vo aapko nehi aata hai.Aapne Sunaina ke saath mid-air mein misbehave karna start kiya aur Officer Rawat ek pilot hai,to jab ye aapke saath baat karne gayi,uswaqt agar main bhi waha chala aata to mid-air mein flight kya jaadoo se chalta?"He said to the committee,"Sorry sir!!Inse sach ugalwaane ke liye mujhe thore jhut ka sahara lena para hai.Main bas aapko yehi proof karna chahta tha ke ye aadmi jhut bol raha hai and so I did it."The committee immediately made Ananya free of all her charges and also rebuked the businessman and his son for their false allegations and dismissed the case.

Ananya,Akash and Sunaina went out of the room and Sunaina told everything to Natasha.At that moment the businessman and his son too came out and then the boy threatened Ananya,"Ye beizzati main zindagi bhar nehi bhulunga."Ananya stood face to face of him and said,"Ye to kuch bhi nehi tha agar flight par travel kiya aur badkismati se us flight mein agar co-pilot main rahi to aisi harkat karne par is baar to sirf washroom mein bandh kiya tha agli baar bahaar plane ke pankho se latka dungi aur vo bhi ulta.Meri ye baat yaad rakhna."The boy and his father left from there and then Sunaina came to Ananya and apologized to her,"Iam sorry officer aapko meri vajah se bohot kuch sunna para hai.Actually main bohot dar gayi thi isliye jhut bol diya.Iam so sorry."Ananya put her hand on Sunaina's shoulder and said,"Its ok main samajh sakti hu.Don't worry now everything is alright."While Ananya and Sunaina were talking,Natasha said to Akash,"Isne ek to itna bara risk liya hai upar se resignation bhi de diya.She is so fool Akash...I mean aaj ke din mein job milna kitna mushkil hai aur vo ye job chorna chahti thi aur vo bhi itne bare airlines ki job.Ek sorry se agar baat banti hai to mujhe nehi lagta hai ke itna bara risk lena chahiye."Akash did not take this sarcasm of Natasha lightly and he replied,"Pata hai Natasha life mein ek bohot khaas cheez hoti hai and that is self respect aur jab vo chali jaati hai na to zindagi mein kuch bachta hi nehi hai jiske liye hum log lare.Vaise ye baate tum nehi samjhogi Natasha.Bye!!Have a nice day!!"Saying he walked towards Ananya leaving Natasha devastated and angry.

Akash and Ananya were walking together in the airport and Akash said,"I must salute you for today,tumne aaj jo kiya uske liye himmat chahiye."Ananya replied,"Himmat to jhut bolne ke liye chahiye kyuki ek jhut ko chupaane ke liye aur jhut bolne parte hai,par sach bolna to bohot asaan hai kyuki uske liye sochna nehi parta hai."Akash replied,"Thats good!!Well Iam very impressed with you first officer."Ananya said,"By the way mujhe to aapko thanks bolna chahiye kyuki aapke jhut ne hi us larke ke muh se sach ugalwaya hai.Aapne meri bohot bari madat ki hai varna shaayad aaj Inde Airlines mein mera aakhri din hota.Thank you so much!!"Akash slightly nodded his head and then said,"By the way aaj mere paas tumhaare liye ek proposal hai.Hope you don't mind."Ananya asked,"Kya?"He gave his hand and asked,"To kya ab hum dost ban sakte hai?"Ananya was a bit taken back but somewhere inside her heart she was very happy.It was like a very beautiful and happy surprise for her.She smiled broadly and then shook hands with him and replied,"Sure!!By the way mere paas bhi ek proposal hai aapke liye,hope you too don't mind."Akash was curious and asked,"Ya tell me?"Ananya replied,"Vaise bolna to nehi chahiye but Captain Akash kaafi lamba naam hai,bolte bolte zabaan par na uff!!I hope you don't mind me calling you Akash...only Akash."Akash felt like he had suddenly got something very special which he had been longing for since years.He just could not control himself and smiled broadly and replied,"Of course!!Pleasure is all mine!!"Ananya,in a complaining tone,said,"Vaise aaj kal ke host bare ajeeb hai,khud hi lunch par invite karte hai aur phir khud hi bhul jaate hai."Akash suddenly remembered that he himself invited Ananya over lunch today and he bit his lips and salpped on his head for forgetting.He said,"Iam so sorry!!Main bilkul bhul hi gaya tha.Chalo,lunch par chalte hai phir flight pakrenge."Ananya nodded her head and then both of them walked towards the airport restaurant.

After grabbing their seats,Akash asked,"To kya khaana pasand karengi aap?"Ananya replied,"Aap host hai to choice bhi aap hi kijiye."Akash replied,"Ok let me choose!!"He called the waiter and then ordered,"Do paraathe ek malai kofta aur ek butter paneer ha one glass of thick lassi.Aur tum kya khaaogi Ananya?"He looked at her and then was confused because she was staring at her with wide eyes and open mouthed.He again called her and then she blinked like waking up from sleep.He asked,"Kya khaaogi?"She again looked at him and in a very polite tone said to the waiter,"Bhaiya aap mere liye dal chaawal lekar aaiye."Now it was Akash's turn to look at her with surprise and when the waiter left,he asked,"Sirf dal chaawal,isse pet bhar jaayega tumhaara?"Ananya replied,"Aapke orders sunkar vaise bhi mera aadhe se zyaada pet bhar chuka hai.Mera isise kaam chal jaayega.By the way kya aap hamesha itna akele hi khaate hai?"Akash gave a wide smile and said,"Vo kya hai na hum Punjabi log jab bohot khush hote hai tab hum aise hi bhar pet khaana khaate hai.Meri mom kehti hai ke jab hamaara pet vhara hua hota hai na tab hamaare dimaag mein bhi gande khayaal nehi aate.Vo kya kehte hai...ha...khali pet bhajan na hoye."Ananya laughed at this.On the other side,Natasha while leaving the airport,saw both Ananya and Akash together having lunch and she was very angry and jealous.She decided to ruin their lunch and so walked upto them.After reaching their table,Natasha said,"Hullo Akash,hi first officer!!If you don't mind may I join you?"Akash did not like of Natasha's coming there but Ananya replied,"Ya sure!!"Natasha pulled the chair beside Akash and then sat with him.With a smile,Natasha replied,"Seriously Ananya you did a brilliant job there on board and in this meeting."Ananya smiled and replied,"Maine kuch bhi nehi kiya asal mein agar Captain Saluja ne usse sach nehi ugalwaya hota to main kuch bhi kar paati."Natasha held Akash's arm and said,"You know...Akash hai hi aisa and thats why he is my best friend."Akash gave an awkward smile to Ananya and she too smiled back.Before leaving,Akash told Natasha to wait for him as he would return within a moment.He ran and stopped Ananya and said,"Sweet dish to baaki hi reh gaya hai na Ananya.Ye lo."He gave her a chocolate and then she asked,"Iski kya zarurat thi?"He said,"Har naye relation ki shuruwaat meethe se honi chahiye and you too love chocolates.So ye hamaari nayi dosti ke liye."Ananya took the chocolate and thanked him and then left.
