"agle janam mohe bitiya hi kijo" is reaching it's highpoint, where laali's dreams would be shattered when she realizes that she is actually been sold by her parents for money. the man she loved, shekhar, is actually not her husband and she for him is just a child bearing machine. now will shekhar who has always empathized with laali come forward to her rescue?
this is what ratan "laali" rajput had to tell us……..how excited are you about the highpoint that the audiences are going to see soon in "agle janam mohe bitiya hi kijo"?
oh i am very excited. i really want to know how my viewers and my fans will react to such a thing. through the response and fan mails i know people are loving the show. i would really want the audience to mail and let me know how they feel about my plight.
being ratan how do you think laali should behave in such a situation?
being ratan, i feel laali should change and should not remain naive anymore. laali, as a character should become stronger and not get bogged down by the situation. laali is a very positive character. in it's in these troubled times that her strength and stamina as a woman should surface. laali and ratan both believe that every cloud has a silver lining. hence i believe laali will take everything in her stride and face the storm.
as a woman what do you think laali should do?
as a woman, i think laali should get rid off her suhaagan ka vastraa, her sindoor, her mangalsutra and take charge of her own life. since she comes to know that the person who she thought was her husband was actually a stranger, there's no way that she should succumb to the wishes of the society. she should live her own life, in her own terms.
do you think people relate to your character?
for sure i think people relate to the character. the fact that the show has been accepted so well and generated a buzz speaks volumes about laali and her world.
are you happy with your character?
i am not happy, but very happy with the character. i feel so fortunate and blessed to have got such a role so early in my career. but the entire credit goes to my director and my audience. it's all thanks to my audience who have loved and blessed me so much. i am actually a medium. it's my director and the creative team who actually thought of such a beautiful concept and executed it so beautifully.
how is it working with senior actors like sudesh berry and roopa ganguly?
i am simply loving it!!!! when i was a kid i used to watch them perform on screen. today i don't believe it myself that i am sharing the same screen space with them. they are not only terrific performers but also lovely human beings. how do you feel about the movie offer that you have got from anil kapoor's production house?
i was over the moon when i got the offer. i am happier about the fact that not only the television viewers but even the film industry people are watching us. i am very proud of my show.
don't you regret that you rejected a big opportunity?
not at all. definitely it was a big opportunity but "agle janam……" is my biggest opportunity. i can't leave laali. the character has given me everything in life. i am sure they will call me back again someday.
what message would you like to give to women who suffer like laali?
to all those women i would like to say just one thing that hardships are a part of life but one should be strong enough to face the adversities. being weak you can neither support yourself nor others.
