This is a shameful question to even ask. How could you consider selling your daughter period.

That would be a disgusting thing to do, and would show what your values are as a person. I can't believe people sell their children to others as if they are some common objects lying around to sell. If you are going to exploit your children as trash, then you should think twice before bringing them into this world.

It's your responsibility to take care of them not to sell them off even if the reason is extreme poverty. I would rather die then sell off my daughter because at least I won't die with a regret even if that death comes earlier.

This is what I am saying. I asked an elder in my family why poor families have children when they don't have food to feed the baby. The anwser I got back is a) they didnt have any knowledge what so ever (like we do these days😆) and they had children so the children could help gain income.Coming back to this question if the children were born for an income then I guess selling them is correct. If the parent gave birth for money reasons then they will always associate thier child as an item that makes money then as thier own child. Obviously as humans nobody has the right to sell someone else and it isn't easy for any parent to sell thier daughter if they really love them.
To be honest there is no right or wrong anwser, it depends on the situation. I am against it, but I persoanlly believe you shouldn't give birth if you don't have the capability to give that child a satisfactory life.
On a last note I don't think anyone will say yes to this poll as most members here haven't been in the extremes that the story portrays. Only the person selling thier daugther knows how it feels to be torn between love and hunger/money.

Yes most poor people have children just so that the children can support them and earn money for them once they grow.
But the family that they have shown in the show is not like that, I think it's just happened that they have 4 kids.
But the mother was forced to sell her daughter because she had no other choice. It's either they die, or one kid get's sold.

So you are right, we can't answer this question because none of us have experienced it. They don't sell their daughters willingly, I wonder how much it hurts them when they take this decidion.

Yea I understand your point. They can keep the daughter with them for the entire life, but what will she do? Eventually the entire family will suffer and probably die of hunger.

So selling is not the first option, but Poverty is such a thing that it can make man take extreme steps.

Selling your daughters was very much the reality in parts of Bihar and UP 50 or 60 years. This was also accepted by the society, since the girl led a better life where she was sold. But don't know much about the current conditions.
How does one actually have the gall to sell away a daugther. What is the main reason for these people to buy these girls in the first place. To be sold away into prostitution and sex slaves. Does that justiy allowing the family to have a better life while the girl suffers.
Poverty does not mean that by selling a daughter away the family has enough to eat annd live for the rest of their lives. Honour and love that keeps a family together and no matter how hard life can be one should not pit one's children's life against the value of a paper. This is what money is-paper value.

First off selling is really wrong. Secondly, using that person, is even worse. How can mankind be so messed up

What is upsets me the most is the fact that Laali's father has been so strong and hasn't given in to Bali until now. He called his daugther "lakshmi" and then sold her.
I wouldn't rush Laali's gauna. Is it necessary for him to marry Laali to Ganesiya? Are there no other boys for such a hard working girl? If destined then Laali will marry Ganesiya or someone even better..
Anyway, yes it is wrong but it will continue to happen..

I know I am not answering your question ... but I have never been able to watch this serial with a clear conscience. Every time I try to watch an episode end-to-end, I am reminded of the following quote - "I cried because I did not have new shoes, until I saw a boy who had no feet ".

Serials such as this one have taught me to be thankful for what I have ...

The title of the serial makes one think hard about life and Laali ...
Its the little things in life that really matter. And often these little things seem inconsequential. But if we train ourselves to look for the good in everything, then we have the power to make ourselves and the world a better place. To change our own perspective and perception of our surroundings is a priceless realization. I guess that is why Laali is so happy and wants to be born again as a woman ...

Yes, life is beautiful because we choose to make it so ... 😊
