Chapter 8

Trisha and her team sat on the sofa in their office, waiting to be introduced to their new, temporary chief. They had entered the office after two whole days. When they had reached the office, they were gathered by the media and had to be rescued by the security guards of their office. All were quite miffed due to the unwanted attention they were getting. The media had also somehow got hold of the fact that Vidushak was also Raghav's father's murderer. Naturally, they tormented Raghav the most with their insensitive and unlimited questions. That was another reason the team was fuming silently at the moment.

"Welcome back." A man with grey hair greeted them while entering through the door. He came and sat in front of them. "I'm Mr Vinod Chawla. I will be your chief until this case is solved and a new one is appointed."
"Hello sir." They all greeted him in unison. After the introductions were done, Trisha came to the point. "Sir, we wanted to interrogate Mrs Chauhan."
"Ah! I have always heard many praises about you and your team. How you don't laze around at all. Always working hard. Even now, you are back within two days and ready to start investigation. No wonder you are the best CBI team. Go to the interrogation room, I'll send her there."

They all entered the interrogation room and Raghav started a video call with Bikram. Mrs Chauhan arrived shortly.
"Please sit." Trisha showed the vacant chair. She proceeded with small steps and quietly sat down. Her eyes were red and puffed. It was obvious that she had been crying a lot.
Trisha started, "You have stated previously that you didn't know anything about the criminal side of your husband. This has all come as a shock to you too. Am I right?"
"Yes."
"But what you are saying is not possible. You can't be totally unaware about it. He has been a criminal, a psychotic criminal for over twenty years. How come he has fooled you for so many years? Mrs Chauhan, did he threaten you to be quiet? If that is the case, tell us the truth, tell us everything you know. We will protect you from him."
"I don't believe that my husband is guilty. It's impossible. He has been framed somehow. I'm sure of it."
"We all saw him." Rajbir protested.
"So you mean that he had been lying to me and acting all these years? No lie or act is that perfect. Or do you want to say that I'm that blind and foolish. What about you then? Aren't you famous for your intelligence?"
"Then you must be lying. You knew everything." Trisha interrupted her.
"If I'm lying, then there's no point in interrogating me."
"Leave that decision to us." Trisha said.
She indicated the others to come out. Just when they were going to exit the room, Mrs Chauhan said loudly, "I've heard from him that you trusted each other a lot. Believed in each other even if there were proofs against your friend. Can't you do that with him too? Maybe he has not lied to or cheated anyone. Maybe he himself is a victim. Maybe that vidushak is the one who is fooling everyone, again."

Chapter 9

"What now?" Trisha asked. "We couldn't get a single information from her."
"I think she is lying. That's the only explanation." Rajbir said.
"Yes. I think so too." Said Swati.
"What do you think, Raghav?" Trisha asked.
"Confused. Very confused. Talking to her has only increased my confusion."
"Let's go to his house. Maybe we'll find something there that will help us in our case." Suggested Trisha.

They all went to their former chief's house. After searching every nook and corner of every single room, they came up empty handed. Swati even hacked and unlocked all hidden files, folders and anything that had a password in his laptop but found nothing suspicious. Raghav finally came and sat on the living room sofa. Rajbir sat beside him after a while and they informed Bikram about their unsuccessful search till now. The two girls were still trying to find something worthwhile by rechecking the places they had already checked.
Suddenly Raghav called for them. "Trisha, Swati, come and sit here for a moment. I have something to discuss." He took the phone from Rajbir's hands so that he faces Bikram and waited for the other two.

When they came, he started. "I have a question. Dilip Chauhan had a perfect cover right? He was the CBI chief. Why did he expose his real identity? Showed us that he is Vidushak? What was his gain? He only lost his cover right? He was in the CBI for that only wasn't he?"
"Well, as far as I know, he's psychotic. Maybe he wanted us to pursue him. As if he is playing a game with us, especially with you Raghav." Said Rajbir.
"Why now suddenly?" Trisha asked.
"Something is very wrong here, I can feel it. We are overlooking something very important."
"Guys guys guys," Bikram's voice came from the phone. "Not finding anything in this house should be expected. Of course that man won't keep anything suspicious here. He will hide his things somewhere safe. Out of everyone's reach."
"But this place is safe. No one will ever search a CBI officer's house. According to us, his wife is most probably lying, she's with him, so he didn't have to hide anything from her. That means he could keep his things here." Raghav said.
"Maybe he took everything and all the clues with him before he exposed himself." Rajbir suggested.
"If that is the case, why did he leave his wife behind?" Trisha replied. "Guys, now I'm also feeling that we're missing a link."
"So what do we do now?" Rajbir asked.
"Let's go to the place where Bikram got shot." Raghav finally said.
"But what can we find there?" Trisha asked.
"No idea." Said Raghav. "Got to start somewhere."

Too good Ritu...I just loved the way you have been going through the progress of your story...Im feeling as if Im watching the sequel to the show...Well done Sweetie...Somehow I feel that their new temporary chief will be or be involved with Vidushak...its just my guess...😉

Nice, truly perfect updates Ritu 👏👏

Loved how U have shown the team intact of being ONE and this is known to Chief's wife too. Liked to see them reaching a point that they are missing some link.

Now all points to the place where Bikram was shot, hope they get some clue so that they stop hating and accusing their Chief anymore.

Nice going, good narrative and a pure team work !

The team is back to their dutiful regime and interested it was as they grouped to interrogate Mrs. Chief. Raghav is confused as the team is really missing the fact and i will be waiting for that missing thing comes to them soon once they reach the shoot out place.

The story is going so well Sweetie, that it really implying the second season as it shud have been. Loving it, thanks and luv ya ❤️🤗

Loved to read the ongoing story n the coming twists... that makes this story more n more interesting... ! Loving to see the team back to their work... n confronting a Lady is landing them in a confusion leading to another lead... that they might get at the place of the last scene of the show,,,, Looking forward to it...

Looking into what you will provide the team to get some clue n shed their accusations from their own Chief... !
