Only thing is for the dough of litti's covering, it is nit necessary that you use yogurt (curd). You can substitute with water and ghee (clarified butter) also.

I am gonna go to store (Patel Brothers for those in US..if interested to know which store I am going 😉) tomorrow to buy Sattu for the stuffing. I really want it all nutritious and balanced with all the those seven varieties mix of millets + Cereal. I am gonna enjoy making them tomorrow or Sunday as it turns out 😃

Shri, please update us on your Litti-chokha trials.Tongue Were you able to make them. I have tasted Litti in Kolkata but not litti-chokha tigether. I so want to eat it now. Please update how easy or difficult it was to make.😃

Neetz,
Go on further. I made them and have put up the photos as well. 😆
Easy. I didn't buy Sattu from the store. I made Sattu flour at home. Used Corn, Barley, chana dal (chilka wala) , Arhar dal, Moong dal (chilka wala), Masar dal. Was short of the 7th one (horse gram). Roasted them and them ground them.

Then had to make litti which is like baati easy to make...just tha litti had to stuffed with Sattu's Pitti.

Baati is nothing but regular wheat dough (lil tougher than chapati one) but with coaser texture (you can add sooji to make it coarse). Make a ball, flatten a lil bit and bake them for 25 minutes with "Sekhna" procedure.

Ohhh..oops oops oopswhy do i do this..i posted before reading the second page🤔 sorry shri.

But OMG! are those pics of what you made? They look so so tempting, i have water in my mouth and mmm i can smell the aroma ..Shri, i wish I stayed near you then i could have demanded some portion for myself😉😆
Wow yaar you have lots of patience and i think you are much inclined and dedicated towards experimenting with and trying different dishes. You made sattu at home!, i guess thats the best achievement because its really difficult to get that right, what with the mixing of so many lentils..phew
Great job, you would have enjoyed it and remembere PRISHNA all the more while eating it nahi?😆

Neetz,

Same here. Wish you stayed nearby and then would have experimented more and khilati bhi!
I am more into balanced diet things and indulge in knowing recipies across Indian cuisine from all over India and then later alter as per family consumption.
LOL! I was watching Prishna VMs while at this work. And in between resting/cooling off periods watched old hindi movie love story over youtube! 😆 that Kumar Gaurav & Vijeta Pandit one. I love the songs from that movie..to dekh daali!
