Pinto Singh's first Treat to Krishna Raj - Litti- Chokha

Litti-Chokha - Bihar's famous snack dish

The favourite dish among Biharis is litti-chokha. Litti is made up of sattu and chokha is made of smashed potatoes, tomatoes, and brinjals.

Its like Rajastan's Daal Baati Churma where Litti is Baati and Choka is the vegetable mix like Panchmel daal for Daal-Baati. Baati in UP and Madhya Pradesh is called Baatla.

Waise I learnt making Daal-Baati-Churma when I was watching Diya aur Baati Hum😃

Now I will learn making Litti-Chokha of Bihar 😉, more accurately Maithilanchal.

Thanks Shri for this information .By looking the Dish in the show i understood tht It is somehting related to Potatoes n Kachori types . But thanks for ur information. tera post padke toh I am feeling like tasting it 😛😆

Only thing is for the dough of litti's covering, it is nit necessary that you use yogurt (curd). You can substitute with water and ghee (clarified butter) also.

I am gonna go to store (Patel Brothers for those in US..if interested to know which store I am going 😉) tomorrow to buy Sattu for the stuffing. I really want it all nutritious and balanced with all the those seven varieties mix of millets + Cereal. I am gonna enjoy making them tomorrow or Sunday as it turns out 😃

Baingan-Tamatar Chokha (Baingan ka bhartha) and Aloo Chokha

A mash mix of Roasted eggplan/brinjal and tomato

A mash of boiled potatoes mixed with some spices.
