...My friend is suicidal.

Yup... thats pretty much it.😕

She's told us she's adopted and that her 'mum' is awful. She doesn't let her go out, to friends, to parties etc etc. The only thing she is allowed for is school socials like camps and discos...

I can totally get where her mum's coming from, but she can't. They fight so much... she always threatens to run away or actually kill her self...🤢

And shes one of those people that might actually just do it... Not the fakers. She finds her life really depressing and is always saying stuff like we're so lucky and we have no problems and all the world's problems are just on her shoulders and stuff...

Firstly... her mum doesnt like us much... she thinks we're waaaay to social.
Secondly... I know what you mean, we've got chaplains, councillors and psychiatrists... shes not going to either one cause... I dunno... I guess she doesnt wanna admit she has a problem...

I went through a similar experience, about two years back, my best friend became suicidal. I pointed out to her all the wonderful things about her, and spent maximum time in trying to make her happy. I also tried to change her perspective about her "problems" and I convinced her they weren't problems after all. Eventually over time she grew out of it, but yes it took a long time for her to get over it.

I say you try to point out all the wonderful things in her life and try to make her look forward to her future. Tell her eventually she will move out of her house, and then she wouldn't have to deal with her mom. Hopefully by then she will realize her mom is right. Also tell her all your problems - possibly make up a few (it's wrong) but you never know she just might realize her life isn't as miserable, as she perceives it to be, and there are people out there with a lot more problems.

Only child, and her adoptive mum... apparently her 'aunt' is single...
