Hello everyone. Welcome to my little corner. Even though one doesn't need to hold some type of degree in order to give advice I think I should let you know my past experiences. I currently write for a local desi magazine, [sorry have to hold on to the name] along with my old job of local newspaper. It's more fun to to advice desis than white people. Sorry had to get that of my chest.

You might ask why am I here!

Well 2 reasons, actually a few of them.

1. I am tired of advising aunties and newly married brats who are having saas problems.

2. Tired of advising Saas's with modern day bahus.

3. For my American readers I wish all 14 year old girls would realize all their problems are pretty much the same and only if they care to think about it for 2 mins they will get the solution on their own.

That brings me to the younger generation desis. I don't think I have come across many young desis in my column so this would be a new experience. As a girl myself I know I had to face many problems. From parents to boys, older + younger siblings, celebrity crushes, teachers etc. So I thought it would be fun to help others who are going through the phases. Share some tips!

Another thing sometime we just need to talk to a stranger. I would say " maybe it's just me" but it's not. People do feel great when they can tell a stranger a long sad story with no strings attached. It really helps. It helped me just this morning. So if you ever need to vent out after your mom yelled at you for the most retraded thing, I have an ear. Well atleast an inbox, and I will read your mail during my breaks. Feel free to whine and nag.

Things to keep in my mind
I hope I am not breaking any sort of rule.😳 This is not a club or anything. It's one on one advice giving to people who would rather just talk to one person rather than post their problem's publicly.
** You can post things here or pm me. PM will automatically make you anonyms when I share the the mail here **

And I am not a Queen. Never wished to be one either. I always felt I was a princess. Anyways it's my editor's choice! So bear with me!

Aah the weekends. Quite a busy weekend for me with a box full of mail. Both online and out. It is quite unique to see handwritten mails. Sometimes people go through extra step to make the letters pretty. Those gestures really make this job worth while.

To start of I will share a mail from my magazine
" People are so nosy. I am 23 years old and I will soon be 24. Everyone keeps bugging me about marriage. My parents, uncles and aunts, cousins, grandparents, distant cousins I barely talk to, my parent's friends EVERYONE!!! Please help me. How do I make them go away?"
Tsk tsk. Well now the queen really feels for you. But what can we do? Us desis are a bunch of nosy people. To start it off dear you need to know why are you opposing the idea of marriage. Whatever it is, be it career issue or love issue make sure you know it. Tell your parents the truth because they are not being nosy. They really care and they are concerned. Genuinely let them know how you feel and what you plan to do. Put their fear to rest. I am sure they will still worry. Desi parents always do but at least they will know you have your situation under control. About uncle and aunts.. with all due respect sometime they are just plain irritating. Not sure about yours but most cases show they are just nosy for the sake of gossip. Ignore or politely change the subject. Better yet try to make a joke out of it. Say something funny. About friends either they are the same ways as uncle, aunt category or because they have someone is mind for you. If you are interested go along if not change the subject and move on.
Whatever happens dear try not to stress yourself. Laugh more. Enjoy!

ummmmmm isn't the point of the advice section for people to post topics and ask for help, that what's the point of having your own advice column here? just a thought.

awesome! !!!!!!! !!!!!! I think it is amazing. Even though we do have the whole advice corner sometimes I would really like to privately ask one person than a post my problem open to public. This is just amazing. I saw the signature on another forum and this made my day. I don't know how to thank you. This is like a god send. Ok I am blabbing now 😆 forgive me just had a rough day. But thank you thank you thank you. Now I know who to nag. All my friends are too busy to listen to my nagging 😭 I would rather not bug them

This is advice corner however everyone is welcome to have an Advice Corner shop so if someone wants ur advice alone then he/she can ask u for help in that post, rather than to make a new topic asking for help😊
