According to reports, Ronit was produced before the Bandra Metropolitan magistrate court and was granted bail on a surety of Rs 12,000 as all the sections against him were bailable.
The incident occurred in Andheri West around 6.30 a.m. The other car was thrown off the road and overturned. According to police, Ronit helped to take the injured women to the nearby KokilabenAmbani Hospital. But he did not inform the police and went away from the hospital. Police acted after the victims complained.
Rohit was then placed under arrest. He was sent for a medical check-up to ascertain if he had consumed alcohol. The actor, who started his career with the movie 'Jaan Tere Naam' in 1992, earned popularity on televison with shows like 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi', 'Kasautii Zindagi Kay' and 'Bandini'. Currently he stars as a successful lawyer in the weekly show 'Adaalat'.

The 46 year-old actor was behind the wheels of his Mercedes when he rammed into a WagonR with four occupants at around 6.45 am on Linking Road near Sab TV lane, H Vhatkar, senior inspector at Amboli police station, told PTI.
The occupants - identified as Deepak Darera (60), his wife Kaanta (56), and daughters Sneha (29) and Pooja (24) -who stay at suburban Andheri's Shashtri Nagar area, were on their way for a picnic to hill station Matheran, police said.
Kaanta sustained severe injuries on her back, Pooja had stitches on her head whereas Deepak injured his hand. Sneha received negligible injuries. All the four were taken to Kokilaben hospital by the actor himself following which the injured were admitted, police said.
The 'Udaan' star, who is a resident of upscale Yari Road area, was driving towards the home of his brother Rohit, also an actor, when the incident occurred.
Both the vehicles were severely damaged, police said, adding that subsequently Ronit was arrested under IPC sections 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way), 338 (causing grievous hurt by act of endangering life or personal safety of others).
Police are awaiting medical reports to confirm whether the actor was drunk at the time of the mishap.
Speaking to mediapersons later, Sneha alleged that Ronit might have been driving his vehicle at the speed of at least 100km/hour.
"His car came and hit ours with full speed. My sister has suffered head injury and my mother's left arm has been dislocated. He accompanied us to the hospital in a taxi but left soon after," she said.
Ronit has acted in serials like 'Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi', 'Bandini' and currently stars in 'Adaalat'.
